Compendium Regarding the Diablo 4 “Druid/Tempest Roar” Drop Issue

Here I will attempt to create a compendium of relevant information & topics from the Diablo 4 Forum, Reddit & Twitter regarding the “Druid/Tempest Roar” Drop Issue plaguing users at this time.

This thread isn’t intended in any way to bash Blizzard/Diablo Staff or their policies/handling of the situation, nor is it intended in any way to spread misinformation.
The intent is to gather user reports & other reference material in a single location in order to shed light on a potential loot-imbalance/seeding issue in such a way that it gets resolved in a reasonable & timely manner!

This thread isn’t intended for discussion or debate regarding any occurrences or opinions of this situation or the users impacted by it; such posts will be considered & flagged for removal as off topic - the goal of this thread is to compile a list of resources & feedback threads regarding the topic at hand, if you wish to discuss or debate regarding certain aspects of the situation please create your own thread & post the link below to be referenced here!
That being said please feel free to post relevant links I have not included below & I will add them to the list when I am able to do so! Thank you all in advance for your respect & consideration in this matter!

This list intentionally isn’t including reports related to Drop Issues for other Items & is exclusively focusing on players experiencing trouble Dropping the Item “Tempest Roar”, where it seems the users may have been impacted by the Barbarian Drops, Loot Seeding Issues, or other seemingly related Item Drop & Pseudo-RNG Anomalies!

Note that this list is in no way intended to be exhaustive or comprehensive & that it is a work in progress intended to be updated until such time as this situation is adequately resolved in such a way that players are able to effectively, efficiently & within a reasonable time-frame Target Farm for class specific, build enabling Uniques; Or it becomes apparent that no adequate resolution will ever be attainable!

Please note I won’t be linking every individual post where users bring up issues regarding Dropping Tempest Roar, though I will attempt to link as many relevant threads/posts on the topic as I can find.

EDIT: I will show my appreciation & like your replies (if it is appropriate for me to do so) when I am able, I ran out of daily likes shortly into my time compiling the list of links from the forums!

Do you find now-fixed barbarian drops to be currently relevant to the compendium?

If it potentially contributed to the issue in any way since release, then yes it is relevant to this issue & worth being documented within this Compendium.

I believe the details of which user reports & potential interactions are actually important can only be determined by individuals within the Development Team who currently have access to the live, testing, production & previous builds of the game, as well as the account data for the users in question.

For reference, when I compiled the list of included links I started with the oldest references that came up in my search on the forums.

This results in the Barb Drop reports you mention showing up at or near the top of the list, with many of the more recent user reports appearing at the bottom.

UPDATE Patch 1.1.0 - Considering the current patch has been in development for some time, I still have hope that the Development Team will be made aware of & consider the concerns of the users whose reports have been left on these forums. We can only hope that going forward the Development Team will be more responsive regarding the issues & concerns brought up on the forums, for the betterment of the game & community as a whole.

UPDATE Hotfix 3 - With both the acknowledgement of this issue as well as mention of a potential solution in the pipeline for Season 2, while this issue may remain ongoing I will be pausing updates on this Topic for the foreseeable future.

I do mention TR in there but I also believe that at the level I was at the time it was still somewhat reasonable to expect to grind. Mid 70’s without is still acceptable, technically speaking most people are just gearing up in T4 at that point. Level 100 where I am now getting 6 or more unique drops daily and not having it is another thing.

Keep in mind I also have a different opinion regarding endgame viability particularly at the high levels. Even with the uniques there are still lazy mechanics in play which force you into these builds to overcome stun locks and one shots which still occur just less frequently. Because we are pigeonholed into taking one ultimate to survive which also comes with the best damage ramp in the game we we stuck choosing one helmet or the other and building around it.

The other option is playing the broken bulwark bugged build (notice i said bugged and not exploit.) The mechanic is intended the damage multiplier is not, but there are other significantly worse broken builds that are bigger priority like the Necro blood lance which literally breaks the game when it procs causing it to crash. Definitely more important than an overturned barrier explosion.

So yes we are almost forced to take a unique helm if we want to push 70+ and with those unique helms come a select few skills that will work with the most powerful and effective skill in the game. It is what it is I suppose.

You are a legend great work! Im just sad its like us druids got it rough man. I just wanna pulverize and have fun you kno? but its like literally impossible to run pulverize past t70 unless you want to spend 15min killing the boss the nerfs to pulverize were mega ultra not called for!

That is loads of hard work. I’m not even sure if blizzard appreciates this.

If it were bugged, as some mentioned could be getting bear helm first
Or possibly constantly running similar dungeons not getting it.
Or having smart loot detecting and predicting your build and giving you another option.

It’s not even a shako rarity lol.

Do you find now-fixed barbarian drops to be currently relevant to the compendium? While I understand the frustration of receiving them at the time, since it is no longer in game does it contribute to the goal?

fantastic work! i made mention of this by using the relevance topic search on both this forum and 2 others and i just had to constantly battle trolls trying to invalidate the thousands of voices being unanswered in regards to the trash gatekeeping mentality that bliz thought they needed to put into the game for druid players! this completely troll proofs itself! excellent idea home skilly!

Once of my thread is in there. Update, i’m now level 100 and still haven’t found a Tempest Roar. Its silly.

I’m perfectly ok with “uber” uniques being ultra rare as they’re just really overstacked stat sticks but build enabling uniques should be findable.

Same here. A few bars from 100, have never seen a TR. So many of the werebear chests and helms though…

Actually I dropped one today. I’m sitting at level 100, it’s been 2 weeks and that was my 2nd Tempest Roar. I dropped unique items maybe 500+ times. That feels …

Level 94 and I haven’t seen a Tempest Roar, Crone Staff or Waxing Gibbous.

I have however received 7 Mother’s Sorrow, 5 Vasily’s, 4 Insatiable Fury, 4 Temerity’s, 3 Mad Wolf’s Glee, 3 Hunter’s Zenith and 2 Storm Companions!

I have done every trick known to reddit/forum to get the TR or Crone staff to no avail. It is disheartening and I almost at my breaking point with this game.

Not sure when they will look into this. They are probably spending time preparing for season 1 instead.

Even silly gems tab and stash space is going to take a long time. Resistances stats too.

Level 94, over 15+ Vasliy’s, 3 staff of crone but 0 tempest roar. been exclusively leveling in NMD since level 55.
