Then don’t play it, simple.

Is this helm really that rare?? Ive seen 7 or 8 of them at least. RNG is crazy sometimes i guess

User has 3 Druid characters listed, totaling 280+ hours between them (& some non Druid chars too!)

Enjoy your lucky loot seed(s), being an outlier, & judging by the fact that your forum account appears to have been made 1 day ago for the purposes of:

  • Gathering specific, targeted, echo-chamber style feedback regarding Trample/Boulder.

&

  • Stating that you have had 7 or 8 of a helm in 280 hours that over a hundred users have reported not seeing after thousands of collective hours played…

I would say you are either really lucky or another forum plant :potted_plant:
Either way enjoy your hats!

I don’t think you took a long enough break.

Lvl 88 never seen 1 either. Also never seen bear chest, only one bear helm at lvl 50. Got 1 sacred wolf chest. Druid specific uniques might as well be classified as an Uber uniques for me at this point

When I played my Necro, I found all class uniques by level 70. My druid is level 85 and I’ve yet to see a tempest roar. All I farm is cultist/cannibal dungeons/NM dungeons. I clear 3-4 dungeons, do the legion events then back to the dungeon grind. I’ve gotten at least 3-4 of the other non class uniques already before tempest roar. So yes, it’s super rare.

So you got four to drop? Can you clarify if they were all in specific NM dungeons?

First of all, I feel your pain. I sincerely wish you get it soon. Druid was my second character, and when I unlocked t3 a clan mate helped me gear up on helltide with his druid main. To this day he hadn’t found the Tempest Roar either.
I made a post about this very same issue a few days ago. Got it later that day from an event elite while doing helltide and my druid was 92. So apparently, complaining works.
I also got one at level 97 which I would happily give away for free to my clan mate who helped me earlier.
I still stand by the point I made in my post: If certain unique items make or break a build, either give us back target farming via helltide chests, or enable unique items trading.

I have played barb to level 94, and my druid is now pushing 98 and as of this moment I have gotten at least two versions of every unique item available to both classes (including Tempest Roar) except for the six that are mathematically near impossible to get e.g. the Grandfather.
I recorded most of my drops, and I am now fairly certain that target farming uniques is nonexistent, except for the brief period when we had the helltide chests.
The first Tempest Roar I’ve got was from doing an event while helltide is active, you know the Wandering soul event where you escort a soul that eventually finds a loved one that spawns as a zombie and says:" You…left me… aloooone"?
Yep, it dropped from that zombie and not the event chest.
The second one, I was doing the nightmare dungeon “Zenith” and it dropped from a resplendent chest skeleton guardian.

Either I’m mssing something, or multiple people have a wild misunderstanding about this. I’m on my phone at work, so I’m going to make this short:

  • Helltide chests couldn’t drop uniques.
  • Change was made so they could drop uniques. Target farming now possible.
  • Super unique glitch occurs.
  • Super uniques turned off.
  • Other uniques still available. Target farming still possible.

What am I missing? That the chests can drop any unique? That has zero impact on your chances of getting a TR, just like the Barbarian unique bug had zero impact. The chests never strictly dropped one item type to begin with; they just made the probability of their item type much more likely. So,

  • The probability of helms from a helm chest is still super high.
  • Drops roll item type before rarity.
  • Opening helm chest will give you a much higher chance of getting helms, which can roll unique.
  • Target farming still exists since the patch.

So again, why do people keep saying this? Did I miss a patch note somewhere that turned off uniques from the chests entirely?

After 280 hours played, I finally got Temptest Roar from a Resplendent Chest in a NMD 41(Guulrahn Canals) of all things. Key was from Tree of Whispers.

None of these I found it, nor I haven’t found it posts make sense, I have also complained legit today that after over 300+ hours I have not seen a tempest roar, but the reality of stating “just grind” or “ I got mine at level 90+”.

Your build and playstlye should be complete by around level 75, this seems to be the case with every other class ( necro I had no issues had every unique by level 70, barb I was rolling in gear by level 75 didn’t have a hellhammer but who cares didn’t use it, it’s useless)

I have rolled 2 druids from 1-70+ both with the intent to try all available options for “fun and engaging play” ( key words here) bear Druid is great, pulverize is good can clear bear is tanky, cool but it is however slow and gets old ( legit Hota with range) landslide is ok, feels clunky not my thing, claw with no tempest roar, feels off as I have to drop ww form to use hurricane and cyclone armor, human storm Druid is garbage and needs to be reworked, boulder as a core skill is terrible and human earth Druid needs reworking, shred with no tempest roar is fine, but again falls off hard when you reach high nms.

All of this leads to tempest roar, closing off lightning storm or tornado Druid, or even efficient claw as options, you want us to have fun Blizz, you have stated this, you want us to keep up with and play your game, then fox the drop rate. This is not fun it closes off the class, it doesn’t make me not want to play, but it does make it feel like there are only 4 options instead of 5 given the terrible focus on one item with god awful drop rates. We love Druid, now give us some love back.

Let’s play hard Devil’s Advocate, here.

I’m confused by the first line, but let’s keep going…

Says who? Says. Who. Why do you think this? Just because you think it should be? And does this mean you also got the Ring of Mendeln on Necromancer, since people talk about that as much as Druids do Tempest Roar? Do all those other Necromancers just need to keep grinding and playing to get it and it is no big deal? Have you played a Diablo game before? Some people in Diablo 2 have been playing that game for literal years and have never seen some of their chase items drop.

So you have a bunch of Druid experience and tried a lot of things. That’s a step in the right direction, at least. Some of the playstyles don’t fit what you’re looking for, which I totally get and appreciate. I have to ask, though: With some of these builds are you comparing them to what Tempest Roar builds can do and dismissing them outright, or are you putting time and effort into making them work?

Did you ever stop to think that since the Tempest Roar builds are so strong that maybe it has a lower drop rate on purpose? Super OP strong build requires rare item isn’t exactly a new concept. You don’t want the drop rate fixed, you want it raised. Those are two different things.

Closes off the class is a bit of an exaggeration.

I love Druid, too.

This is in no way an attack, but I am curious as to your line of thinking on some of these things. I get being frustrated at not having your chase item drop, I really do, but I don’t quite follow the logic that people start applying to these things. “It has to be bugged! It has to be broken! My character/account is bugged! It’s literally unplayable without this one thing!” (examples of things I’ve read in general.)

I do hope you get the drop. And I do hope you get it sooner rather than later! :+1:

So here’s the biggest issue no one is talking about. Blizzard from the start has been very VERY transparent on the idea of you making a new character to ‘swap builds.’ If we take this at face value, then we need to plan out accordingly. Once you get to a certain level it becomes VERY expensive to reset all nodes and redo both your paragon and skill trees. If this is the case, then they need either allow us to specifically target farm dungeons for the rewards given at the end, or remove level requirements off dropped unique items.

For example, I had planned on making the tornado druid build (just like everyone else) then I saw the lightning storm build and thought that was cool. So I started planning for it around level 45-50 on my druid, but while leveling I was sticking to trampleslide. Now that I’m level 87 I’m starting to think I’ll never see tempest roar, the only item needed to make that build work. If this is the case for more than half of a classes builds, then we go back to what I said previously except now I want to change one part, either let us target farm specific items or incorporate said item into a key passive. One of these 3 things needs to occur for people to become happy, and until then you will CONTINUE to see posts like these.

So while your answers to peoples rebuttals, while logical, are in good heart; it’s not what this game needs. People stay to play games for a LONG time due to variety and easy of getting said variety. If you make the goal line infinitely longer than intended, people will quit your game.

Yes I have the ring for necro, and undoubtedly feel bad as I don’t use it, yes I have played all the builds I have mentioned for atleast 30 hours each and tried to min max to the best of my rng potential ( my feelings on each do not matter as it’s my opinion not a fact)

Yes I have played Diablo 1-4 with over 300-500 hours on each ( less on 3 as I was invested in other games at the time)

The beginning of my rant was nonsensical as it was a half thought and clearly I didn’t finish it.

My opinion on build finality by level
75ish is again mine, and I’m in no way fact however no other class i have played has had issues achieving an amusing playable build by that point ( again as I stated bear was fun for me until it wasn’t and I realised it’s just barb with a barrier and a small range added to the Hota …. Opinion not fact)

I also hope that the helm will drop, and what ever your after hopefully does as well, doesn’t change my simple opinion that something is wrong with the rate at which it appears, nor the potential of the class as I would like to play it, could truly care less that some YouTuber is slinging millions of damage, I simply want the option to play all available builds and determine for myself what I prefer, to be completely honest I’d be happy if they simply made human storm Druid a viable
Option I don’t actually want to be a wolf and prefer the way my chubby naturalist looks, but having tested it, it’s awful.

How many of you are level 100 and have no TR? Sounds like a bug tbh.

Yes, they were all in Nightmare dungeons. I know my first one I got was from Cultist’s Refuge. I can’t really remember where the other ones dropped honestly, I think maybe a 2nd one was from the same dungeon and the other ones might have been from other random nightmare dungeons (random luck)
