The Customer Support forum cultivates a beneficial relationship between our support departments and player community by providing a friendly environment where players can exchange information, access self-help resources, discuss in-game issues, and receive meaningful guidance through personal and fun interactions with Blizzard representatives.
The representatives who staff this forum are dedicated to providing our players with the information and resources necessary to help ensure in-game experiences are as [EPIC] as possible. As part of this effort, visitors of this forum can expect to find a host of information pertaining to in-game and account issues, including (but not limited to):
- Account Security and Compromise Recovery
- Account and Character Services
- Customer Support Interactions
- Notable Customer Support Policy Changes
Players are encouraged to ask questions, share advice, and participate in on-going discussions on the Customer Support forum. Accordingly, it is of utmost importance that all players treat each other with respect and courtesy. For more information, please review the Forum Code of Conduct and the Forum Guidelines below.
As a reminder, the Customer Support forum is not an alternative contact point for In-Game, Technical or Account Support. To request assistance, please contact our customer support staff directly through our Support Site.
Additionally: While our Support Forum Agents try to reply to threads as they are able to, a response is not guaranteed.
Forum Guidelines
In addition to the forum Code of Conduct, here are some common courtesy guidelines to follow. While these do technically fall within the bounds of the Code of Conduct, these cover more specific examples of common errors that will lead to thread deletions or posting privileges being revoked.
The World of Warcraft forums are for discussion of topics directly related to World of Warcraft.
- The forums here are specifically to discuss the game and related topics. Any topics not related to World of Warcraft, Battle.net, or Blizzard Entertainment are subject to deletion.
Note: We allow one off topic thread to be maintained in the Customer Support forum where regular and visiting posters may engage in more social discussions not directly related to World of Warcraft or other support issues. A few rules apply as follows:
- Discussion of forum moderation or other users/threads should be avoided.
- Whoever caps the thread is able to create the next one (though if the new one isn’t made within 30 minutes or so someone else is able to so as to keep the thread going).
- The title should always start with [CS Lounge]. Any additional header needs to abide by policy.
Don’t post in all capital letters, use a misleading title, excessive punctuation, and/or non-standard symbols, etc.
- While everyone wants their posts read, we ask you to refrain from using these types of tactics in order to bring more people to your thread. Let your post stand on its own merit. Threads violating this guideline are subject to deletion.
Using the words “Blizzard”, “Blue”, or any community team members’ name in a thread topic is frowned upon.
- Everyone would like Blizzard to read and acknowledge his or her post, and we understand that; however, use of such words in the subject line does not help that come to pass. Please make your thread title relevant to the post subject. Threads violating this guideline are subject to deletion.
Posting “First” or IBTL (“in before lock”), etc. constitutes as spamming.
- You will be silenced if you create a post that is intended to call out that you achieved a specific reply number in a thread. This is considered spamming. Posting IBTL ("in before the lock") is not helpful, and if you feel a thread should be moderated please use the rating button to do so.
Do not “bump” posts.
- The act of posting simply to bump a thread is considered spamming. This also includes bumping very old threads for no reason (called “necro bumping” or “necroing”).
Petition posts are frowned upon.
- These are discussion forums and, as such, we ask that you hold discussions. Creating a thread to ask for replies as votes is not a discussion. Threads violating this guideline are subject to deletion.
Do not post about locked or deleted threads.
- Posts that are moderated have a reason behind the moderation. It’s up to you to read the forum Code of Conduct and these guidelines to determine what may have violated policy, learn from the mistake, and attempt to post again without breaking any rules.
Derailing a thread into a discussion about the Forum Code of Conduct
-
If you are providing advice about the Forum Code of Conduct, please do so once in a constructive manner and refrain from derailing the thread into a discussion about the Forum Code of Conduct. Focusing on a potential violation is not productive and many times will take attention away from the issue being reported/discussed. While we encourage players to abide by the Forum Code of Conduct, it is not the responsibility of other posters to enforce it. If someone else has already provided the information, quoting or reiterating the forum CoC policy is not needed unless the original poster asks for further clarification.
-
If a player responds negatively to a suggestion regarding the Forum CoC, we recommend reporting the original post that contains the violation so that the CS forum moderation team can make any necessary edits; provide education and clarification on both the forum policy and the main issue.
