Every time I come to the forum, I see at least one of these bug reports near the top of the list.
“Healers (and Moira’s specifically) are getting too many POTG’s.”
Not once have I seen a dev respond. No “This isn’t a bug we’re experimenting”, or no “This is a bug and it’ll be fixed”, nothing. NADA. Zilch. Zero. Blizzard has been dead silent.
They say the squeaky wheel gets the grease, so I’m hoping this post demonstrates to Blizzard just how squeaky this wheel is. Here follows every “bug report” filed for this in the past month or so:
Is it just me or does Moria only get POTG these days… It must be a BUG.
There’s something massively flawed about the current healer play of the games. It’s great and awesome that there has been a clear attempt at improving the positive POTG experience towards supports by valuing their efforts a bit better, but a lot of times there are huge flaws in them. For example Moira’s primary healing spray is over valued heavily for some reason. It keeps constantly “stealing” POTGs from other players. I have had a 4 man +70 elim grav POTG go to a Moira who orbed that way and t…
Because a 6 man Visor wipe does not equal damage plus supporting at the same time.
Coalescence damages as well as heals, PotG considers how much damage was done as well as how much the player support their team mate. So if a Moira Coalesces her damaged team while helping push back the enemy, of course they’re going to most likely get the play.
Just as well, a Damage Orb can still get assisted damage while they heal, so there’s that too.
Honestly though, I’d be more mad about Bastions getting …
I’ve made a post about this not long ago, and I’ve also posted on a couple of other people’s posts about similar topics.
But, what the heck is going on with POTG? They simply S U C K now. It largely favors healers, and Moira gets the most effect from this. As I stated in my previous forum post about this, Moira got 68 POTG out of 200 games, the next runner up was Dva at only 12. A few characters never even made the list.

the potg seems to be broken right now. it will almost always go to a moira, who usually doesn’t do anything crazy or significant enough to warrant getting play. it even seems like it recognizes what SHOULD be play, as it’s usually at the same time as the other play. for example, a junk will eliminate 2+ players on point, but instead of him getting play, it’s a moira coming back from spawn and throwing an orb or something. please fix this, im tired of watching moira plays!! (im on xbox btw)
So i was playing overwatch my favorite game when i threw my ult as tracer and got a 4k when this WITCH threw her god damn black and blue ball into the crow and stole ALL of my kills. This made me very sad bc she threw a ball and did damge i got final kills. (you did it to mercy you can do it again). Luv you <3
Ever since the last patch, I’ve noticed that Support characters have been getting PoTG a significant number of times as opposed to before. While that’s good for Ana and Zen, all I see now are horrible Brigitte and Moira plays. Much more than before. Just this last week alone I have seen 6 Ana PoTG and we all know that’s way out of the norm.
I’m not sure if they changed their formula or something but it’s way off now.
Is this a bug? Seems like in every game there is a Moira and someone does a big play, the Moira gets the POTG because she threw a damage orb and healed someone. This is really annoying. Please fix this so we don’t get so many bad POTG’s.
Ever since the (terrible and dumb) hero pools were released, POTG algorithm has been terrible, always choosing a healer over something actually cool to watch. I’ve gotten multiple quads and quintuples but it’s always been taken over by some dumb Brigitte just swinging her weapon and getting assists, as well as healing the team.
Whereas I’ve gotten triples with meteor strike, quads with Deadeye, and even a sextuple with RIP-Tire, and they never got POTG. And not only that, but this bug’s been go…
Theres a glitch that gives moira potg even if she does nothing, IE a big shatter. its too consistent for it not to be a bug.
I’ve been playing overwatch a good amount this week and I’ve noticed that healers only get potg. I played 10 games today i got a 5 man blade, but when potg shows it’s a brig smacking people getting one elim. WTF
Thre have been a LOT of Moiras getting POTG since a few days. Even if they just do normal healing or a single or double kill.
Just 5 minutes ago a Moira got POTG with making a doublekill, while I made a Quadruple reaper kill.
Yesterday when playing with friends Moira got POTG from left click healing and a singlekill while both me and other teams McCree made both triple deadeye kills.
Have Moira received a new algorithm - or is it a bugg - or just some bad judgement from OW agent???

The rate of support POTG’s have gone up an insane number, and most of the time it’s weird Ana plays where they just get some assists and miss some shots.
I know its not really a bug but still it needs to be fixed. when ever i play either one of my team mates or myself get a triple kill or some other crazy kill but the POTG goes to some guy with 0 or 1 kill. Also I’ve noticed that you dont get POTG when you get 3 kills with your ult unless you get 6 kills with it. I just think its unfair to people who get a big kill streak and people with actual skill. Update: i just got a triple kill as mercy but a ana with 0 kills got POTG.

Since the 26th Feb update, supports have been getting POTG a lot more.
I’ve also been getting a lot more POTG myself.
Is this a bug or an intended change?
Since the update a ton of threads complaining about supports getting POTG have risen to a common amount.
Is there a chance you can check to see if anything has changed?

I’m not sure if it’s just me or if they’ve tweaked the play of the game system but I for one, as a DPS main, totally welcome this change and I think our amazing support mains definetely deserve the attention.

I hope it will get fixed soon, I hate that feeling when you done game winning move, or you enabled your team as a tank and potg goes to moira who just holds m1 on people who aren’t even low health… Almost the same with brig, just swinging her weapon.

Everyone is experiencing this. I believe as long as a certain super amazing play threshold isn’t meet, the “rarer” hero potg are prioritised. Considering the current situation world wide, this issue might be very, very far down on the list of things to consider an issue.

Well - Must have been since February 26th. I got much more Brigitte POTGs since then.

Anecdotally… I have not found this to be even a slight issue. POTGs have been pretty even across roles for me.

It’s actually insane, I just got potg as brig for swinging for 5 seconds and cleaning up a kill. My friend got a literal solo quad kill as doomfist that game.

Honestly, you barely see Supports get POTG’s anyway, it’s always DPS, because the Fire system panders to them (100 fire upon eliminations, everything else is lower).
Yeah we all loved seeing POTGs of Moira holding left click while her Rein got a 6 man shatter, or Brig holding left click on someone while her McCree killed four by himself.

I’m just saying that DPS do take the shine too often, not saying that this is a bad change but they could atleast give Supports more chances to get POTG instead of through those, there is a Lifesaver play of the game but you can barely get it even if you use a Sound Barrier or Transcendence to save your team. They get it way too often with ease because the Fire system pandors to getting kills, the thing Supports can barely do.

I mean at the end of the day PoTG doesn’t really matter, it’s just an ego boost at the end of the game. I skip most PoTGs anyway.
