Loot Amounts in Castle Nathria

Soon after the Castle Nathria raid went live for Normal and Heroic difficulties this week, we discovered a bug that was causing an unintended additional amount of loot to drop. Due to this bug, bosses have been dropping an average of 5 items for a 20-player raid group, when an average of 3 items is intended.

Throughout the design and testing of Shadowlands, we’ve had a consistent goal of bringing a similarity to the rate of loot acquisition that players experience in each of the main endgame activities: Raiding, Mythic Keystone Dungeons, and PvP. This bug, if left unaddressed, would prioritize Normal and Heroic raiding over similar-difficulty dungeons and PvP progression.

We’re developing a fix for the issue, which we will implement with scheduled weekly maintenance (Tuesday, December 15 in this region). Neither the bug nor the fix will affect Conduits and Legendary Memories, as their drop chances are determined separately.

Can you guys like make less mastery items drop because like 75% of the drops in that place are riddled with mastery

Many drops were detected, and drops were nerfed.

I’m glad more loot was the problem with the game. Good Job in fixing this issue and taking the game in the right direction.

Are there no other bugs that need addressing?

I think it’s cute that you guys think I was getting loot in the first place.

Yes, please do fix this. Over-generosity is definitely not a core Blizzard value.

That doesnt happen though.

Exactly as it should be, that’s not a bug. It’s good game design.

Raiding is the activity that should be promoted because it requires the largest playerbase to function, it should always reward the best and most plentiful gear.

Sorry. Loot drops for these lower difficulties as intended is too low. Normal/Heroic raids should remain 25%, M+ should go back to 2 drops at the end of the dungeon + 1 for timing it, and PvP should be adjusted to whatever level is comparable to those. None of these changes will affect the top-end Mythic raiding, high-end pushing of M+, nor high ranked PvP since most of that loot is still locked behind the Great Vault as intended. All this is doing is frustrating people trying to gear for these higher difficulties and turning off players who are not hardcore/semi-hardcore.

Better than dungeons? M+ 2 drops per run means 40% chance at loot, as many times per week as you want. Raid ten chances a week, currently 25% chance at loot, now going down to 15% chance. How is the current rate too much?

Understandable but you can do dungeons endlessly, you can only kill a raid boss once.

He said similar difficulty. Don’t lump heroic dungeons in there please.
