NEW Shoulder Slot = šŸ˜

Part 30 (yes 30 now!!) of my posts to try and get D4 improved. Hopefully these can gain some upvotes and dev attention or comment! I was going to just do one post but it would have been way too big. Please upvote and keep it positive guys!!

Add the shoulder gear slot. The shoulder slot adds special effects to a random defensive skill (even special effects from other heroes), +1-3 to a random defensive passive, +1-3 to all defensive skills, and the last affix is either all stats, all resist, fortify gain, damage reduction while healthy (NEW), damage reduction while moving (NEW), or damage reduction.

Shoulders can be aspected with the same aspects as pants at 75% power.

Examples:
Your casts of Earthen Bulwark also cast Blizzard, +2 to Iron Fur, +1 to all defensive skills, +25 all stats.

Your casts of Ice Armor also cast charged bolt and fireball on the nearest enemy, +3 Mana Shield, +2 to all defensive skills, 11% damage reduction while healthy

While concealment is active summon a smoke grenade each second, +2 Sturdy, +3 to all defensive skills, 5% damage reduction

I think this suggestion has a lot of merit.

Once you mentioned it, I had quite a bit of nastalga for the old shoulder pads slot.

Imagine if our bold hardcore brothers and sisters had something similar to the D3 Pauldrons of the Skeleton King. 1 revive from death, 60 second timer. Make it cool when you are reborn (like a Rogue doing a flip off the ground with a little lightning).

Could give you some movement speed on rebirth. You always want to be fast and maybe invisible right after you die.

Never do hardcore myself. Did it once. Demon Hunter in D3 to level 80. He was bad and I mean good. Connection issue killed me. I had been so careful. Never again. But I bet those who play hardcore would appreciate it.

Devilā€™s advocate. I havenā€™t played a Barbarian yet in D4. Heā€™s next up in my rotation for Season 4. I bet non-Barbs would complain since they have quite a few slots already, but hey, everyone would get one.

I disagree on the linkage to pants at 75%. New slot. Full power.

Could make some really cool looking shoulder armor/fashionable garb. Dark and spikey with skulls for our Necro friends. Or even dorky like that silly dandy outfit Iā€™ve seen people wearing in the wild. Feather boa or something classy for the Sorcerer. Maybe a tree stump for our druid friends. Rougues would have epaulets.

Iā€™m sure the folks on the shop side can come up with some cool stuff.

Aspects can be Defensive or Utility

Affixes

  • All Defensive Stats
  • +Defensive Passive Skills
  • Elemental Resists

Chest

Aspect can be Defensive or Utility with +150% effectiveness
