By the Power of Greyskull here are Powerful Hero Variants! 💀

Part 28 of my posts to try and get D4 improved. Hopefully these can gain some upvotes and dev attention or comment! I was going to just do one post but it would have been way too big. Please upvote and keep it positive guys!!

Hero Variants.
Idea here is spicing up the same hero with variants on the character. Gives players something to level for as well. Examples with sorcerer:

Illusionist - Available all the time.
The Illusionist has Lucky Hit - 5% to spawn an illusionary copy of yourself. This copy prevents damage to you for 1 hit and then is destroyed. Max 4 copies. The illusionist has -10% all resists.

Alchemist - Available all the time.
The alchemist has +3 max potions, +25% healing from potions, +40% elixir duration, cheaper elixir costs, but -8% movespeed.

Seer - Unlock with Level 60 sorcerer or alchemist or illusionist.
The Seer has +30% enchantment effect but -8% max life.

Wizard - Unlock with Level 60 sorcerer or alchemist or illusionist.
Wizard has different enchantment slot bonuses. 4 Examples.
Lightning Spear - Cast a lightning spear after spending 50 mana.
Chain Lightning - Your chain lightning changes to fire damage and deals bonus burning damage.
Blizzard - Release 3 charge bolts from an enemy frozen by Blizzard.
Firewall - Your expired Firewalls cast Fireball.

Wild Mage - Unlock with level 75 wizard or seer.
3 enchantment slots total but each enchantment has to be a different element. Hotbar must have 2 skills of each element. IF a casted core or mastery skill has the same element as the type cast before it then it costs 25% more resource. IF it is different, then it costs 25% less resource.

Evoker - Unlock with level 75 wizard or seer.
Core skills cost 10% more resource and deal 15% more damage. Core skill enchants are 15% more powerful.

Elementalist - Unlock with 90 Wild Mage or 90 Evoker
The Elementalist has different core skills and the corresponding enchants to match. He has a multiple damage types theme.
Prismatic Spray (All damage types), AEther Beam (cold / lightning damage type disintegrate), Flashfire (fire / lightning), Frostburn Ray (fire / cold), Neutron Star (random damage type, fires a star like succubus in Diablo 1, high lucky hit)
Prismatic Spray Enchant - You can continue channeling at 0 resource for 4 seconds.
AEther Beam Enchant - While channeling AEther Beam you cant be frozen or chilled.
Flashfire Enchant - Cast flashfire whenever you are crowd controlled.
Frostburn Ray enchant - When you freeze an enemy burn them over 5s for the same damage that caused the freeze. When a burning you caused expires on an enemy, freeze them.
Neutron Star enchant - Your neutron stars have lucky hit 5% - Explode into a core skill that shares the same element.

Blood Mage - Unlock with 90 Wild Mage or 90 Evoker
Cant use potions. The Blood mage recovers health by defeating enemies or lucky hitting bosses. While at full health the blood mage casts enhanced blood versions of equipped core skills that do not use resource and instead cost 100-400 health depending on world tier.

Its a nice idea, but two things:

  1. There is already something in place comparable, the class quest with some customization.
  2. Your proposal also requires a lot of extra spells, balancing, animations added. This might work in a more static game like tabletop D&D, but not in a computergame where things change more quickly.
