you are assuming the entire team has fast mounts. they don’t.
Then get fast mounts, or, at least, a carrot.
Eventually everyone will have fast mounts.
Also, fast mounts or lack thereof would likely balance out on each side.
Those on slow mounts may be cut off at SH, and have to either struggles/sneak through or try and delay the Horde as, hopefully the other 75% of you push Drek.
I mean, the Alliance has won AV before, we do realize this, yes?
during premades yes alliance won but that was because they used this strat when everyone in discord had atleast a fast mount. right now if its not av weekend like 25% actually have a fast mount.
AV is not unique among the battlegrounds for having rewards. I do AV for fun on my mage from time to time and I hit exalted on day 2. (at least I try to if 10+ people aren’t afk).
This is not true in Classic AV. Horde teams are a mix of new alts who need rep and rankers. Alliance teams are almost entirely (90%+) the former, because Alliance rankers, unlike Horde, have no incentive to queue for AV (and in fact would shoot themselves in the foot by doing so).
It’s common for all but a few Horde to have epic mounts. It’s similarly common for fewer than half of the Alliance to have epic mounts.
In Classic, the Alliance won in the first few weeks when Horde didn’t even try to defend anything, and then for the next month and a half or so when Alliance premades were possible (and even then only the high roller premades won super consistently; there was a premade discord that took basically anyone with a pulse, and its win rate after the third week was ~20-30%). After the premade nerf modified the ranking meta, Alliance quickly sank to a 1-2% win rate as all of the people who needed anything other than rep quit queueing.
you are aware that:
-
Horde don’t care about AV and will queue for whatever is popping
-
No one cares about AV at all
Just hoping you knew this. If av died and WSG/AB popped faster no one would be upset.
Horde queue for AV because it’s free honor they can pick up while not missing out on queueing for real BGs. Even if it never pops, they have no reason not to queue really.
You know with how often people have said av is gonna die in the next few day’s.
This time I think you may be right.
just check how many avs are running and that will give you a clue. I expect it to be about 1-2 by next week and maybe 3-4 at peak time. when that happens expect premades again
Queue times are down about 15%-20% for Horde so far.
give it a few days for people to catch on
Keep that same energy. Horde thought this was going to be fine last time they nerfed ally AV. In the following weeks it took time for the changes to set in and for queues to slow. Then this happened from the Horde on this very forum:
Endless whining and complaining as slowly their queues hit the roof. Its coming again. Just wait for it. Don’t want to hear any crying like this again though. You guys had a chance to learn the first time. So don’t go whining to Blizzard that they ruined AV when your only access to PvP is getting stomped by our premades in AB and WSG 2 months from now because the AV queues are 4 hours.
So your upset that your exploit to gain reputation off the druids is now fixed and gone?
No. Their point is that the sole reason Alliance were queuing for AV more than a handful of times is gone, so there’s no real reason for them to do it in the same frequency - which means far longer queues for Horde.
You made your bed. Now, enjoy sleeping in it.
I don’t get it then EsImpure. Probably due to lack of sleep. Sounded to me like they were exploiting the druids, to continue turning in reputation items after the fact that the druids had already received enough to activate. By keeping them in place of their starting position. But now that they can’t, and there’s a limit on it, like there is with the shaman turn in’s for the ice golem guy… Well you can understand the view point.
As for the attitude of the alliance. They’ve been complaining about everything else regarding the map, its inconsistencies and with the exception of what the actual problem they suffer from… IS. Their own defeatist attitudes. Then there’s also the in-fighting, and the trolling of other team mates gears. But now that said exploits are fixed, what do they really have to complain about? The horde starting cave? The distance from their spawn pt? The hill they have to ride up, which the horde have to ride down and up as well?
I saw a earlier post, where a alliance was griefing his allied side about how they can’t win unless the horde are bad players, and undergeared. Sorry, can’t recall the exact phrase used, and don’t want to scroll up to find it. But if alliance can’t win a fair fight, and only expect to win a unfair fight where they have the clear advantage. Maybe those people should stop doing pvp entirely.
You alliance folks need to get over yourselves, your ego’s, and get rid of that attitude which keeps hurting you all. I join pvp to WIN. I did it as alliance, I do it as horde. But it gets tiresome having to put up with the alliance mentality, which is among the reasons why I quit playing alliance entirely. You folks whine too much.
Blizzard nerfed AV twice which hit Alliance rather hard, and the queues started getting longer because fewer Ally queued for AV outside of doing rep. The rep, “exploit” was really the only reason most queued for it, as trying to get a win for that one pre-BiS weapon from the quest could actually take weeks. What started out as a bad winrate turned into a horrendous one when the majority of people in AV on the Ally side had no intention to try and win, as it was an uphill battle.
So they’re just not going to queue anymore.
The new attitude is definitely bad in AV, but that’s a result from the shift from honour gains to rep gains in AV. The people looking for wins and honour simply stopped queuing for AV outside AV weekend. There’s been a number of things listed that have been fixed in retail’s past but are still present in 1.12 AV, which if they were fixed would absolutely put the two factions on a level playing field.
The way the Horde plays AV is also different in NA and from vanilla, as it is scorched earth and leaves little for the Alliance to really respond to.
The point they were making is that the Alliance start off as a disadvantage, and have to outplay the Horde to take the win.
I don’t think that would do anything to help.
I understand the reputation grind, as a solo pugger when it comes to pvp. Ab and Wsg, have always been for me as a horde. Pug vs Premade. I did the math on wsg for all losses to reach exalted. 2520 required losses. And AB at least gives you rep around every 200 pts earned. Its not nearly as bad as the 105 rep for the win in WSG, and 50 more for 3 token turn in.
So while us puggers aren’t solo queue’n into wsg and ab, your all getting more premade horde teams.
As for the way the horde plays in av, that’s just how it is. We’ve been reacting to the strategys that the alliance create, to try to win, and we meet them accordingly. Its pretty common knowledge. Don’t let the alliance go south. There’s even ways to circumvent it to put it into the alliances favor, but then again… that’s where their attitudes come into effect. They simply don’t try.
Having a longer deserter flag, would remove some of the persistent / defeatist attitude players from the queue. It would also give them a much larger reason to try and win. That being said, they wouldn’t be able to queue into it again… and knowing full well how your alliance side likes to report people afk, it’d help weed those people out. Hell, maybe they could even do something along the lines of a stacking penalty, similar to the effect of buying retraining of talent pts.
There’s plenty of solo queuer Horde that we run into as well. And while WSG and AB rep can be farmed decently just by playing, in AV the rep Alliance gets basically requires us to use the exploit because we just can’t win. And the rep items are generally stronger too.
I mean they won’t be leaving, they’ll just say in general, “let X win”.
any time a horde dies at the start after IBGY is taken the cave is where they spawn look at where the cave is on the map a small group isnt going to keep it with how hard the horde try to win without losing anything for the extra honor
And my point is still that they are the identical ones to vanilla 1.12, when alliance had a higher win % than horde. So your “obscenely broken” garbage is just that: garbage.
