Does anyone know why the queue times for AV got so long all of a sudden? I noticed they are super long all of a sudden.

Imagine that. When a game is rigged against them, people stop playing it.
AV previously only filled a niche for bots/afks/rep grinders and people who dont like capture the flag. Blizzard has been banning bots and afks. AB now exists for people who hate CTF. That leaves only rep grinders for AV. Naturally, queue times expand for the overrepresented faction

Going to be long for horde regardless, but they separated the time zones. West coast servers are only grouped with other west coast servers, and east with east. East coast servers prolly have about twice the amount of players that west coast servers do, so west coast is gonna be waiting, especially on horde.

They arent. You are not telling the truth. You did not wait that long. Your queue was likely 1.75 hours, but you did 2 30 minute duration Arathi Basins. It pauses while inside of a BG. Other people “go ahead of you in line” while you are in another battleground.
Source: just tested it yesterday. Also had a 2 hour 50 minute queue, but the average wait time is 1 hour 50 minutes.

You started out great with the “git” but then you flopped going with “good” instead of gud. The quality of these posts are way down!

Dedicated PVP Alliance players aren’t queuing for AV because they have no incentive to. It’s more beneficial for them to queue for WSG and AB as premades while it’s still beneficial for Horde to solo queue AV for their honor.
You’ve been advocating for pugs to be removed from those 2 battlegrounds. Horde solo queuers are very much in the minority other than during the relevant BG weekends.
If you were to be removed from the premade format while solo queuing these other battlegrounds, you will end up seeing long queues for them similar to your terrible AV times.
I really don’t know how you can offer incentive for Alliance to return to AV. Hopefully more players will convert faction as time goes on.
AV BG weekend will be here in just under 3 weeks. It’s possible that the higher ranked Alliance PVPers will share their experience with the newer players and restore some of their confidence and adapted strategies to help further your faction’s success rate.

There’s a few reasons:
Alliance have capped off
BG split between east and west
I love the AV queue, Keeps the honor bots at bay, and can’t really compete with the rest of us, maybe now some of us can lower our bracket caps.
I had to wait for an AV to end to get a queue pop. Something like 15 mins. There actually just aren’t more than 80-90 alliance queuing AV right now.
Edit. Down to 1 AV now, still in queue as alliance. so less than 80 alliance are queuing.

No. I would never suggest removing premades. It’s part of the game, playing with your friends, forming teams, etc. What I’ve suggested is to have them face off against each other instead of pug stomping.

I think he is exaggerating. Que times were probably more like 2.74 hours.

Last week blizzard split the NA PVP population into two battlegroups, east and west. The pool of players for you to queue into has been cut in half. This has increased queue times for everyone ( alliance included )

You must not have read the racials when choosing your faction. Under all Alliance races, there’s a racial called “Underrepresented” which reads “Queue times are reduced to a reasonable duration.”

Well they split NA servers into battlegroups, so that eliminated half the playerbase competition. They did this at the same time as releasing Arathi Basin, so less people in queue for AV. Total flop of a patch. Amend the battlegroup change to be combined once again.
