AV is now going to die within the next few days

aq 20 coming soon. thats why

How would you know that “most alliance were not premading” if you’re an ally ?

I factually strongly disagree with you and can definitely confirm that ally premades were around 50%. It was total destruction and we were lucky if we could kill few lieutenants near Balinda. I don’t even remember winning versus an ally premade. We were only winning against pugs since they had such a bad start caused by premades dodging queues.

and? the melee ring and healer offhand are still bis there nice OH in AQ 40 but it a rare drop, also this has f all to do with av changes as you said in your OP.

You used to be able to hold the alliance druids in place to turn in storm crystals indefinitely. Now the druids leave when they get enough turn-ins automatically. This drastically lowers alliance rep gains per game. Alliance only play AV for rep. Now that its gone, theres no point.

you get plenty of rep wihout and AGAIN it still the only place to get av rep if people want the rep they stiull have to do av regardless of changes

The rep is actually terrible without druids. Horde had a massive advantage in AV (having shaman, stun immunity, etc). Alliance rarely get past the horde to kill a few LT’s, and killing galv is done in maybe 1 in 50 games. Yes, AV is the only way to get stormpike rep, but before it was afking a few AV’s a week, getting some kills and turning in crystals. Now it’ll take months of getting 100 rep per hour long game. To some, it won’t be worth the grind for a BiS offhand.

even less of a reason to join av queue. there is actually a better blue ring in aq20 than DJB, and the offhand primarily effects pallies on alliance side. druids and priests can and will wear staffs until the bis mainhand from aq40 drops which will go to pallies first anyway. The only reason druids even need the OH tight now is the fact that lok’amir is pally/druid prio. priests will always have to wear staffs. the off hand that you mentioned is actually better than the AV off hand. Stop trying to convince alliance to queue av so that your queue times go down. its not working,

I wish this were common knowledge :frowning:

Advantages? Alliance has paladins lol…how is that for an advantage

Not on av. Shamans are bis raid heals which is definitely the case for a large scale bg like av.paladins are more useful in ab/wsg though

Even without HPH, alot of people are only in AV for the rep grind. It wont be pvp for the sake of pvp as long it has rewards.

Hold IBGY with a small team until FWGY or the Hut is taken, then advance. Defend it by yourself, or with friends, 2-4 ish is fine. Let the Hordies go by, do not interfere if they try to bypass IBGY and head north. Only interfere if they attack the flag. Very unlikely even a Horde PuG will have the discipline to form up a group of 5+ to retake IBGY. Give them a path of least resistance, and they will take it.

But few players are interested in defending, seeking greater honor gains on the front lines. Or so they think.

the horde are actually more coordinated than this. so 2-4ish wont work

Then bring a couple more.

Set an example by doing it yourself, even alone. Don’t assume somebody else will do it.

Failure to hold GYs - and towers - once capped has been the bane of Alliance AV success since it launched.

horde will send 30 if they have too plus they know that if they die they res in the cave so they can keep on bombarding it with 15-20 at a time. you are an example of someone who believes premades strats still work

Except that’s not how it works, horde don’t have to wipe the group(s) that are south. Once they soft cap SHGY they can slowly pick off anyone south who will now be stuck north.

Then try again, if/when they too leave it undefended.

This is true, SH is a bottleneck, but the trick/hope is enough of you are north of that line before that chokehold takes effect.

And what helps ensure people are north of that line? Capping and holding GYs south of it so attackers will re spawn there.

If we beleive the Horde are winning due to better organization then the solution is better organization from the Alliance.

Edit: You’d be surprised what a small premade of 5-10 can accomplish in a sea of puggers. Form one up today and see/try for yourself.

tbh its better to defend shgy while a team of 5 or so go get lts that are near a gy, once that is done they cap them and split a horde D up. losing shgy is what kills alliance teams

It’s better to not defend any part of SH, ever.
