Hello good afternoon.
Today 06/05/2020 I was playing normally when I decided to change groups and suddenly I was unable to enter Public games in Mode (Major Slot), showing the following error: "There was a problem while searching for a public game. (Code 24004) ". After I confirm the error window, a new window appears with the following sentence: “There was a problem entering the game. (Code 24004)”.
I kindly ask you to solve the problem. Thank you!

Hi everyone,
Which counties you are in?
A TW ISP has posted a notice on their website, saying that there is a undersea cable cut that may affect their service between TW and SG. No ETA has been given.
Not sure if this is the cause of your issues.
The original notice in Chinese:
https://www.hinet.net/notifyPage.html?id=171c8d6bc0300000c105&type=0
Google Translate:
The APG submarine cable barrier affects the connection quality of HiNet customers ’connection to some websites in Singapore
Start date: 2020-04-30
Time: no ETA
Scope: as detailed
Note: The APG submarine cable obstacle occurred on April 30, 2020. After the company’s emergency dispatch support, customers’ access to some websites in Singapore will not be affected during normal hours. Only a peak period may cause some delays in some connections. After the repair is completed, you can return to normal, please forgive me for any inconvenience caused.
I’m from Argentina, so I think this is not the issue
Issue with joining Public game error 24004。
Hey all! Thank you for your reports! This problem was caused by a server issue with one of our South America servers. Our team has patched this up and this should have resolved those in South America experiencing the issue.
If you continue to experience issues please let us know!
As for those on SEA or Oceanic connections experiencing this issue, It may be related to some of the cable issues mentioned earlier. Just a few questions for those experiencing the issue.
- What region?
- Does this happen on a different character?
- Does this happen on an alternative connection or VPN?
- Gather a WinMTR file until the problem occurs for 10 to 15 minutes. Copy and paste the text file created and paste it between two ~~~ like so:
~~~
WinMTR Here
~~~
If you have issues pasting here, use Pastebin and post the end of the link. (ie. 123456 for pastebin.com/123456
)
Thanks again for your reports and any details provided

Hi, I’m in the SEA region and I’m still encountering this problem, I have tried to connect to different VPN locations but I don’t currently have another character capable of accessing t16 and don’t have time to get one there.
Same problem joining public Torment XVI Rift games. Error 24004.
Location: Perth, Western Australia. ISP: Telstra
Thank you for the details and reports! For those experiencing the issue, please include all the data requested above. The WinMTR data is helpful for us to compare and gather data to find the source of the issue. It can help speed things up if we need to escalate this to our internal team or our team needs to communicate with specific providers or peering partners where the connectivity issue appears.

- What region? Australia
- Does this happen on a different character? Unable to test with seasonal characters. Only have 1 seasonal character able to join Public Torment XVI Rift games.
- Does this happen on an alternative connection or VPN? Tested while tethered to my mobile phone (Telstra 4G) and still received the same error.
- WInMTR file upload: pastebin: NCMFBpE3

This error does NOT occur on non-seasonal characters.
Interesting, thank you for the details, Hydro! A few of our other games seem to report other connectivity issues with telstra connections and if we can gather a few more tests to compare, it may show the telstra peering node. I’m getting this added to our tracking in the mean time. Thank you, again

Hi there,
On Optus connection in Victoria Australia. getting the 24004 error when trying to join public Rift game in Seasonal character. Bounties went OK this morning. Havent had a chnace to try any of the others at this stage…
I have had this problem for about 3 weeks and its constant . Im in Sydney australia using our New world class NBN lol with optus .
It happens on any character at any time every day or night for the last 3 weeks .
Something that may be related or not to this issues . For months i have the public rift games showing no games available . but there is, if you just go join . your suddenly in a game , that is well into a rift . ???
So how is Support going solving this issue ??? any updates . I dont think it has anything to do with Telstra . They are not the supplier in australia for our Internet. NBN it the owner of our internet hardware system .
My version of this is cant connect to a Pub rift game… GR’s fine. Only happens when I specify the Aus server. If connected to US, is fine… From NZ
I just got this error and I’m in the US. Plus I can join a t16 GR, but when I try to join a T8 GR game I get the error. It is just the T8 GR and nothing else.
Plus I know about how it works. I have most of the time on avg 18 hops. Sometimes up to 35 hops too. So if I can join a T16 GR game and not a T8 GR game. Then it isn’t my hops that causing the problem or my connection.
Hi i Still having same issue couldn’t joint Pub normal rift code 24004 please help im from Auckland
