I can’t log into Starcraft 2 because of this error message that pops up every time I try to log in. When I open the game, it stays on the “Authenticating” screen for a few seconds, then the error says that there is a temporary outage. I scanned and checked the game files for errors, and tried switching to the beta in the game settings, but neither helped with this error. I haven’t tried reinstalling the game yet.
Whenever I tried another game like Warcraft 3 or Starcraft 1, it worked with no issues. Is anyone else having this issue currently? I saw some older posts from a few years ago where people got the same error message, but it just cleared up on its own?
I too, have this issue. I have tired reinstalling. I have deleted the test realm in the folder. I have tried moving the game files to another driver. I have disable all firewalls and removed all sc2 files from onedrive. Overwatch and other games are loading just fine.
“There is a temporary outage of the Battle.net service. Please try again later."
I have tired every other hour now and still getting the same message.
I came to the forums as a last resort and have not seen any post regarding a fix.
just out of curiosity why, why in the world would you think that would fix the servers having authentication problems. cause that is what that error means.
servers have been having authentication problems since last night, mine would act like it wasnt going to, but after a min of the " there is a tempory outage" it would kick in and load. Also games after that were super laggy.
Hey, all! Thank you for your reports and for those sharing what’s worked! This error is typically caused by going to a region that had the update pushed, then going to a region that doesn’t have the 5.0 update yet. Sometimes, it will go away on it’s own, but I wanted to compile a list of what’s been helping other players.
Delete the PTR executable.
On the Blizzard Application, go to the StarCraft II tab.
Click on Options then Show in Explorer
Under the Starcraft II folder, delete the StarCraft II Public Test(.exe) file.
Try launching StarCraft II.If you do not have the Public Test file in the StarCraft II folder, try checking if you have the PTR installed and try deleting the file from there. If the PTR is not installed, please try the other two steps listed here.
Switch to the Beta Launcher.
On the Blizzard Application, go to Settings by clicking on the Blizzard logo at the top-left corner.
Under Settings, go to Beta.
Click on Switch to Beta.To undo this, you can go to the same place on the Beta launcher and clicking on Switch to Standard.
If there’s anything new that works, please feel free to share and let me know so we can get this added on here
If the problem persists after these steps, please let us know. If you can include the region, it should let us know if the region may not have patched to the new version yet or if there’s something else we’ll need to look into. As of right now, we’re still awaiting for the CN region to receive the update.
Here is the answer to your curiosity, if you took the time to look up the issue and what was suggested from blizzard. You would understand I am trying to provide as much detail information to whomever need to know.
Hi, I don’t have the ptr executable as I just installed the game freshly to start playing (without installing PT realm). I am in beta launcher, and still doesn’t work. Can log into EU, America region is the only one that doesn’t work
hey buddy, no update went through last night, and no i dont have ptr. so nothing changed from yesterday to today. Secondly you need to read, blizzard is haveing authentication issues, server side, not our side. this was stated in the battle net app notifications last night. again cuddos you played yourself twice now.
thanks bud for flaggin my post for no reason other than you getting called out about your bs. appreciate that, so considering you used vulgar launguage in yours i flagged yours as well. have a nice day.
yo wheres leviathin at, this dudes mass flagging my post when theres nothing wrong with them.
I didn’t flag you. Don’t know what to say to that.
I didn’t even make this post.
I shared what was suggest from a blue post and you simply got curious.
I answered your curiosity. And now you feel the way you feel I guess.
Also, its seems the last updated post was 3 hours ago in the general thread.
where in the world was i ever curious, not once was i curious. i answered the dudes original question stating blizzard was having authentication issues as well as them acknowledging it in the bnet app notifications last night. that was direct answer to the op posters problems. everything you said here was complete bs and went completely away from the problem occuring. you were clearly in the wrong, as not only i called you out on it but another person did as well.
just out of curiosity why, why in the world would you think that would fix the servers having authentication problems. cause that is what that error means.
either way, its a server issue, and reinstalling the game woudlnt even fix something like that. what dont you get dude. my bad thinking i was replying to the original poster, but the fact still stands, its a server issue, nothing we can do will fix the issue, blizzard has already acknowledged they were having trouble last night with authentication. This isnt something new either, it happens all the time. Anytime you get " there is a temporary outage of bnet service" thats a server thing, it always has been. the proposed fixes you stateted to try or maybe you were stating you tried, have nothing to do with what is going on, and nothing you or i can do to fix the issue. ITS A BLIZZARD SERVER PROBLEM>
