Permanent Ban w/o Explanation

Running any programs that are looking at the game as it is running are third party and bannable. Gaming feautures for gpu cards, vpn apps, logger software, any of these could possibly trigger a ban

Anything modifying an input, like a macro of tapping this causes this to happen instead to bypass in game controls, this could cause a ban

READ the EULA, CoC, and ToS. Follow them

No one is “banned for no reason”

Humans are looking at these accounts, they have flags for misbehavior. They ban these people. Blizzard has always done this. Talk to a GM. They literally can look at your in game actions. They aren’t just picking a number and banning. Use your brains

If that’s the case they should probably clearly state controllers aren’t supported then. The person who replied in my ticket didn’t respond to my question about why I was banned it was just some generic text and a link to the legal page. I opened a second ticket trying to get some kind of human conversation going to at least give me exact answers.

There’s nothing special about the Backbone controller its literally a plug and play controller. No macros no anything. If this is a bannable offense they should probably put a sticky “use controllers at your own risk” lol.

They even have a controller with ‘special features’ in their allowed controller list, and even send you, through a link in there, to the controller page. Advertisement and all.

But it seems to be something to do with automation, or anything else that even the players might not be aware of something they’re doing, and keep doing repeatedly, background softwares in PC/Mobile. The majority of people I’ve noticed with this issues are from mobile.

It is obvious why he got banned… He is not the original account owner. Not having access to the orginal email is why they assume he is not the orginal owner. If he was the orginal owner accessing the orginal email and verifying identification is the process.

I had to present my driver’s license that matched orginal owner, and purchase history info matching too. Just to get my account unbanned and restored after it got hacked.

Good luck crying about it on here if you cannot achieve the results of identification.

I can tell you, for a fact, that I’ve let no one else play on my account. No one else has/had my password and I change it frequently to keep from being hacked. So, that is probably not my issue.

Hi, 2 days ago I was permanently banned from DI for no reason. Blizz support say they have evidence but i am not told which or why. Just telling violation of rules, no further info. Im using original ps5 controller, software on it is a little outdated but also original sony sw. I have spent a lot of money on the game and i feel betrayed. Im from German Zoltrax server an there are a lot of gamers around europe facing the same unfair treatment.

Blizz has evidence? So proof it, show us ur evidence. We spent a lot of money on the game for ingame content so we have a contract. How can U violate this contracts by banning thousands of gamers with no explanation? proof or return money!

At this point, they prefer to sacrifice a few hundred wrongfully banned players rather than admitting that they’ve messed up, so RIP our accounts. Our money and time will be better spent elsewhere.

Your not alone. I was banned mid dungeon for no reason at all. And the cowards at this company refuse to even give a reason why. This is why I will not buy Diablo 4 or anything else from this company. I really enjoyed this game and I am saddened at how little they care for their customers. I’ve been a loyal customer since Diablo 1. I have nothing but contempt for this company now. #BlizzardSucks.

While I prefer to believe that people have a legitimate complaint…

It’s probably worth noting that anyone who offers platinum on our server gets immediately reported for fraud by countless legitimate players, who know that some person has had their credit card stolen and abused. As I said I prefer to believe this is not the thread author, but that is what happens unceremoniously on our server and the scammers deserve it.

I just faced the same issue also. And I am very irritated. This was my second account and I suddenly got the ban again with no explanation except a slap with the contract that we supposedly acknowledged. I am reading that in general, it might be because we are using a controller. We are just caught in a guessing game and to think all the money and worse still the TIME we spend grinding and playing the game, all gone overnight without even knowing why! I am very very disappointed.

GM Replied with a non reply. As expected, no reason given.

There isn’t anything to can do, they have the power and the lead to decide about these unfair bans, but first of all i don’t envy at all their cold and arrogance to players like us who played for years their company games.

I had the same issue. I would like to know which of the following addresses is for blizzard. I will go in person and find out about this.

16215 Alton Pkwy, Irvine, CA (USA)

16255 Laguna Cyn Rd, Irvine, CA (USA)

or

2701 Olympic Blvd, Santa Monica, CA (USA)

I got an email and it sends me to the “rules and regulations” that we agreed to but no actual answer.

I mean someone stated that because he used a controller, what in the world? the game settings state controller on it, I have an iPad pro 12.9 inch, its big to use your hands and hold it and what not, the controller is simple and practical. Let’s all assume that it’s the controller why not remove that option from the game settings before more bans. Would be nice if they would provide and ACTUAL REASON instead of the whole read this and try to figure out what we did wrong.

Yes, it’s certainly not fun getting perma-banned and having no idea what you had did wrong.
I’m starting to this it might be the auto-follow party member feature that might triggering it, but this is an in-game feature. And they may want to review how this works. People shouldn’t be banned for this. They stated that controllers won’t get you banned.
The core issue of these posts is we’re left to guess what the ban is. Even at a high-level reason would be nice. There are plenty of cases where people genuinely unsure of what they have done wrong and so Blizzard should really look at improving their comms.
Pretty sure an onsite visit will not yield an answer though, personally I’d love to buy Blizzard Support person a few drinks and ask them what’s going on over there.

My account has been banned today.
I played fair and clean and yet they banned my account.

Edit:
I’m using a legitimate XBOX Series X Controller
Never chatted with anyone except to one person.

Just to shed some light, not blaming or pointing fingers here. Just providing information.

You used third party software, which is against Terms of Service. If you read the dualsensex FAQ, it explicitly states do not use the software for games with native support.

Do I need DualSenseX with natively supported Games?

If the Game has native support, please close DualSenseX so that the game can talk to the controller, otherwise they will fight each other with what get’s sent to the Controller

Which blizzard reads as third party software talking to their game and not the controller directly which is easily seen in logs.

Welcome in the club, there isn’t much more to do to convince them to unban your account.

@all if you go to this link and provide your device information and your own story about your ban then maybe they will start to see that there is some kind bug causing this. I suggest posting your controller type and model number too incase that is indeed the cause.

What are the exact reasons for these bans?
The absence of providing a reason for the account suspension seems like an attempt to evade proving mistakes.
It leaves room for impunity on Blizzard’s part.

If it is a bug causing the problem though then it doesnt make sense to just ignore it. A lot of players have speculated that it might be caused by a combination of using a controller and the games auto follow party member feature. Even though its an in game feature. But if this is the case then they are loosing hundrends to thousands of players which would in tern lose them hundreds of thousands of dollars annually. If it is a mistake, its in their best interests to recognize and correct it. If we keep bringing attention to the issue then they will realize eventually.
