What’s the reasoning behind not having dual talent spec or tap-to-faction? Or do we just wait for WotLK Classic? I feel like these two features would be very beneficial to all players.
Um this is vanilla with a few changes. Don’t know why you expected otherwise.

Out of curiosity what is “tap-to-faction”?
Dual-spec isn’t in the game due to argument of spec identity that was brought forth by Vanilla’s original devs. Although SoM has some changes, it still tries to retain that spirit.
It doesn’t mean Dual-Spec won’t ever be present. It might be in season 2.
So they should take out the LFG tool? Reduce drops? Reduce the increase in experience in SOM? Raise the price of riding costs…you know all those “Quality of Life Improvements” that seems to be the point of SOM? So actual Vanilla/Classic…

No those are the few changes I was talking about. No one ever said anything about dual spec being in SoM.

Tap to faction…not sure if that’s the actual name but the ability to obtain experience/loot from a target despite not being the original character that engaged.
Oh shared tags ok gotcha. Yeah that’s a pretty late change. It’s really not in the spirit of classic.
They have implemented layers to alleviate the large population at the start in order to preserve server longevity.
This is the first season. Realistically they have to start with smaller changes as to not alienate the playerbase that wanted classic in the first place. It’s possible we’ll see both of these in a later season though.
Yeah no one said that would happen either.

But there’s still standard Classic…
No one plays classic era. People wanted fresh.

I wonder if it’s because of the " Quality of Life Improvements"…

Um it wasn’t in the beta = it isn’t in the released version.
Standard classic is a phase 6 server with no progression. It’s a non starter

People want Classic with benefits…
No they don’t really. They got what they wanted. And you didn’t.
Doesn’t look like I’m the only one…
SoM Falls Short

SOM - Controversial Post
The 40% quest xp increase is a joke for a 12 month game cycle. It makes leveling for casuals 15% faster, which everyone on the forums gets wet in the pants for. But, for those casuals tht used to spend 10days played (240 hour), they will spend 8.5 days played (204 hours). Playing 12 hours a week, that means 17 weeks of leveling.
First 2 phases of endgame won’t include them. With the layering screwups the past 2 or 3 days, everyone that is in STV/Arathi and below are getting screwed on leveling…
SoM will struggle… A new Blizzard failure
Why couldn’t they clean up the stats on equipment?
Why couldn’t they reduce spell training cost with the increased exp?
Why couldn’t they buff a few talents for each terrible spec to make them more viable?
Why couldn’t they add all updated models?
I’m just curious on why there was 0 effort put into this? Seems like that’s all we can expect from Blizzard these days. Drama with Bobby didn’t help, started out strong in guild now no one is logging in.
I guess people playing SoM will be left say…
End of SoM? Can toons move to TBC?
I see that toons can move to a classic server of their choice, but will that include TBC? I’m trying to find a reason to play SoM but if all our toons/work end up on a dead classic server while most people go to Season 2, I don’t see it worthwhile for me.
Just curious if TBC is a possible destination.
More people would play SoM if bonus quest xp was 100% or more
I originally thought 40% increased quest xp would be enough to make SoM worth playing, even though many guildies and friends told me it’s not enough to make them switch from playing TBC classic or other games. Now I’ve played WoW since early 2005 and have leveled every single class to max level in Vanilla, TBC, and WotLK, with some classes being maxed out in Cataclysm, WoD, BFA, Shadowlands, as well as WOW Classic and TBC Classic; now in 2021 as an adult with far less time to play video games th…
PSA - Reporting Griefers
There have been multiple reports of griefers kiting elites to various zones where lowbies would be hanging out.
Stitches to Goldshire
Teremus to Stormwind and Sentinel Hill
You can report those who’re responsible for griefing/zone disruption. Just send an email to hacks@blizzard.com . Be sure to include the character’s name and the time of the incident.
SoM. Rogue Blinding powder needs changed asap
Some things that definitely need to be changed in SOM and rogue poisons is one of them.
Why are we still having to pay gobs of money for poisons and Blinding powder??
Day 11 of asking for class balance
I will make this thread every single day until Blizzard addresses the issues regarding class balance in SoM.
There’s been enough community concern and raid content altered to warrant at the bare minimum—some class balancing. Going for a “classic feel” when the game is just not classic anymore, is puzzling if not outright disingenuous. Exclaiming that, “melee heavy groups performed worse than more balanced groups”, is a woeful misrepresentation of the actual variables at play in your beta enviro…
Sick of having HC players camp quest mobs?
You should open the trade tab with them.
They probably have it turned off, but you might get lucky and find one who forgot.
If they’re gonna waste your time. You should waste theirs and make them restart.
Just some food for thought
If it isn’t in the game already you aren’t getting it this season. Tough luck.
I agree. We’ve already had “classic”. Twice in fact.
I hope SoM is baby steps towards future seasons with more changes.
A Taunt and a way to regen mana for Prot Pally’s would be a nice start.
And better mana tools for the Hybrid ranges specs.
