Dungeon Finder [Happy medium?]

So there’s a lot of discussion as to the impacts of Dungeon Finder. Everything from it making content more accessible to more players, allowing people to play how they want to it ruining the social fabric of the game. I’m going to suggest a completely different solution, and one that allows us to test these claims that people have held for years. The general sentiment tends to be something along the lines of “Players will choose the path of least resistance” - i.e. levelling through dungeons …

Would you still have a problem with RDF if

It only grouped players on the same server and the bonuses to use the tool were removed. Also, there could be a toggle to switch off automatically teleporting to the dungeon so you and your group get that socializing in while running to the dungeon entrance. So there would be no effect on “MUH COMMUNITY” and “MUH SOCIAL EXPERIENCES”.

For the love of god, put LFD into Wrath

I just got onto beta, and the new system is, in every way worse, than Wrath’s LFD. Stop doubling down on a nonsense group finder that “preserves the community” and put in LFD.

LFD doesn't hurt community

I played on a small RP-PVE server in OG WotLK, Blackwater Raiders. That server had more community at the end of WotLK and start of Cata than what I’ve seen playing Vanilla and TBC Classic. LFD didn’t kill that community, the RPers transfering to MG and WRA did. I was Alliance and a bunch of us would hang out in the Goldshire Inn and just BS with each other for hours. It was awesome, and one of the reasons I have such fond memories of WotLK.

No RDF = No lowlevel dungeons No RDF = No goodiebag + extra exp No RDF = No quick Heroics No RDF = Enjoy spending your time flying from dungeon to dungeon instead of playing No RDF = No teleport back into the world, enjoy resuming your farm/level route ​ Wrath heroics are piss easy. They are beyond a joke. Let’s see what people say when it takes longer to find a group and get to the instance than the instance itself. The sheer stupidity and ignorance is beyond staggering.

I was anti RDF until I tried this new LFG system

I was 100% against RDF. Even got a warning for trolling when i posted how bad it was. Then I got accepted into beta where I experienced the LFG system first hand. The lfg system is very bad in its current form and is basically just a list of lfg people, almost all of whom are DPS. And this is on a server with only a few hundred people. Imagine what it will be like on a mega server with 10,000 people per faction? It’ll be unwieldy. If you’re dps your name will get lost under 100s of other dps. E…
