Cost Efficiency: Zagara

Below are tables breaking down all of the units for the commander, comparing their HP and DPS versus their various costs. Largely provided for entertainment purposes .

Please note that these all boil things down to simple numbers, there are lots of variables that effect how things actually play out in game as well.

Any upgrades not mentioned (such as attack/armour upgrades and upgrades like Firebat Juggernaut Armour) are already included in the charts.

Super calldowns (like Hyperion) and Heroes I’ll be assigning a cost as well, the same as Tychus’ Outlaws, for the sake of comparison.

If I’ve missed anything, please let me know. With so many numbers I’m bound to miss things as I go.

Wait! How good are the units DPS with Corrosion -35% damage debuff?

So normally I’ve missed things as an oversight, but I actually totally forgot that ability existed, heh. I’ll add it in when I get a shot.

I feel like skipping Banelings and Scourges kinda makes this whole thing pointless. Could you maybe include a price to damage breakdown of them with their respective upgrades and masteries?

I just can’t think of a way to add in their damage, I’m open to suggestions though. The question is how I could compare a single suicide hit to dps, otherwise I’m just saying “a bane does 52 damage at weapon 3, and 92 with upgrade”.


Thinking about it, I could compare to morph time, sort of a banked dps.

Compare Baneling costs to their damage? The trick is counting in all their tech, mastery, splitterlings, the free variants, etc.

The point i think he’s trying to make is that he’s scourges and baneling are zagara only real cost effective unit. From my experience playing zagara as someone how builds scourge, baneling and zergling all the time. I’ve found that the other units in her kit just aren’t as efficient as the scourge and baneling.

Nah I get that, I only make the three as well, but the format I’ve got going just didn’t support it.

I’ll give it a shot! See what I come up with. Because yeah, I definitely wanted to include them but nothing had come to mind at the time.

For waves and enemies, yes. But for sustained damage or buildings/objectives it’s a little different. Lings with evasion are really good in some situations.

Okay, I think I figured out a decent way to compare them. Added them in with what I figured out.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. I’ll have to test it at sime point, I swear Baneling damage with weapon upgrades and tech was in the 140s.

Have Corruptors benefit from 50 Vespene deduction like Scourge
