Canadians are getting a huge spike in Latency

Countless amounts of Canadians are experiencing the same thing as I, we are all getting like 100+ ping when we usually get below 100. We all get the same answer and nothing has helped, it’s not our side that’s the problem, it’s blizzards side. If we can all have different internet providers and play any game BESIDES overwatch, why claim it’s our ISP that’s the problem? It’s not our fault that we are experiencing the SAME issue as EVERYONE else in CANADA. I’m not trying to argue, I’m simply pointing out the obvious. Please help us and fix it blizzard, thank you.

Also, most people don’t come on the forums because they try to solve it theirselves, like I did until I got desperate and came on to the forums to look for a solution but nothing has helped. Also called my internet provider and nothing is wrong/nothing has changed.

I live in Manitoba, Canada and I am getting the same. 200+ ping. Its been happening since yesterday to me. Everyone in my games are either from Canada (Quebec and Ontario mostly so far) or Spanish speaking. We seem to be connecting to Spanish speaking servers, perhaps Mexico or South America.

I also live in manitoba, but my friends that live all around canada are experiencing the same thing… We have been connecting to brazilian servers, most likely the same as you, nicole should reply soon and tell you how we can help bring the attention to blizzard so they’ll notice/fix it soon… but, ill just sit and wait until the problem resolves itself, it started on the 23rd for me aswell.

I’m an Ontario resident and am experiencing the same problem, ISP claims no issues on their end and the traditional methods of resolving connection issues have accomplished nothing.

same here, nothing has changed on the ISP side, but nicole should tell you guys how to bring attention to blizzard soon.

Same here. Ontario. started getting put into Brazilian servers since yesterday night and as of this morning. 200+ ping. When doing LFG with NA people I’m getting 300+ ping.

yea, canadians should keep commenting on this thread so blizzard will notice it and hopefully try to resolve the issue…

I have a friend in Canada and he said he logged off last night due to lag spikes he wanted to Trouble Shoot. The other friend from Canada didn’t mention anything. ORD1 SOrry, I myself am having spikes from 30 to 40-50’s and it’s unusual.

Played a LFG game hoping it would fix the issue. Have people on my team from USA (New York and surrounding States mostly). They all have ~60 ping, but my ping is actually a bit worse than the solo games, its now ~300ms (was 200-250 in solo queue). And yes, the other Canadians I have been playing with (Ontario, Quebec) are all reporting the same thing.

Something on Blizz end is screwed up since yesterday night. Ppl in my discord (Canadians) are reporting the same thing.

This is a good start. Everyone please add a WinMTR to this thread so Blizzard can look into it. Blizzard Support - Running WinMTR (Post with the </> icon and put spaces in links to avoid the forum saying you can’t post links)

Howdy!

We are currently looking to multiple routing issues impacting users in the US and Canada. Bell ISP appears to be one of the main ISPs impacted but others ISPs along the route may as well. Our teams are looking into it!

The WinMTR is a good idea if you have a moment! Run it for 10 minutes and post the results back here.

Attatched is my WinMTR log. Please note that while this happens to be connected to ‘ord1’, it is equally likely when I connect to a game that it will be a different server, something along the lines of ‘sae’ and ‘pa-something’, sorry I don’t fully remember.

So far, every canadian I met playing overwatch as of the past 2 days have been connecting to brazilian servers. If you are canadian, ask in game if it’s a brazilian server. Then come back and reply to this thread… :smiley: (everyone is connecting to the brazilian servers from canada, as far as i know)

I queued a quick play game and I asked what servers was I playing on. Everyone responded with SA and some players said Sao Paulo. I also found another Canadian player complaining about his latency being at 150+.
