I’ve looked everywhere in every town, zone etc and I can’t find anymore side quests… yet I’m still short 5-10 in some areas… where are they? Are they gated content?
Not gated. Some are started by random item drops from mobs.
Biggest culprits are going to be enemy drops and some of them pop out of gathering nodes or from corpses on the ground.
You think all those are listed as possible sidequests if the items haven’t been discovered? I expected they’d just be added if found.
Like the number of critters to kill will only jump up when you open a trapped chest which spawns x critters.
Have you finished the campaign? I’ll be honest, I haven’t tried all of the side quests yet, but some I have are clearly based on points in the campaign that happen.

Yes, they are listed as possible sidequests on the Renown page.
There are posts for each zone for quests from drops. Let me see if I can find one to link for you.

And you think all of the hidden sidequests are listed as possible side quests if not discovered… weird… possibly true…
And yes completed main quest, some zones like fracured peaks i’m almost finish, currently at 25/38 others like hawezar 27/49
I get the feeling that if you started at lv 100 you’d see a literal sea of ! over every interactable npc in towns and outside, also with objects and those are the listed ones, but the hidden ones only get listed when found.
And then there’s the difference… my sorc has 35 possible quests in peaks, my druid has 38… 3 more… hmm…
I’m not sure if all of them are, but some definitely are, so you’re right about it being possibly true. I haven’t gotten all the side quests done myself. I’m in the process of working on getting renown 100% done.
The side quest tally in the renown section never changes. I’ve confirmed this on campaign druid, campaign sorc, and story-skip sorc.

Dry Steppes: 38
Hawezar: 49
Khejistan: 44
Scosglen: 47

There are item drop quest starters which is likely what you are missing, unless you havent unlocked all your strongholds, theres side quests in there sometimes.
Keep in mind youll need to kill and also loot the resource nodes for these side quests, a fair amount are from ore veins or herbs in the open world in that region.
Oh yeah. Forgot about Strongholds hiding quests until cleared. Good call.
