Hey folks,
The developers have recently done an investigation into reports of the latest two series of Nvidia graphics cards having higher than normal temperatures or higher utilization than most players expect. This is most often indicated by your fans spinning up quite a lot and the GPU usage in your task manager or other GPU monitoring software cranking up to high utilization (nearer to 100%). What the engineers have found is that in the majority of situations, this is actually working correctly, and is usually a result of some of the higher impact game settings being enabled.
Our best advice for you in this situation is to reset your video driver and game settings. To default the in game settings, go in game into the settings page and press the Default Settings button. From there, you can manually tweak them one by one until you get a good balance of performance and quality. Note that some settings are more impactful than others on GPU utilization, which is why we recommend testing for a bit with each setting before bumping things up more.
