Should I buy a Nintendo switch?

My kids love it. It has tons of games. Of course, they get to play it more than I do because they like hand helds

There was a Nvidia databreach earlier this year (february if i recall correctly) and part of that leak included the API for “NVN2” (Switch2). And from what i heard, it seemed like it was in the later stages of development. Heavily suggesting a 2023 release. Possibly even early 2023 if Nintendo feels like it.

yes you should

Yeah, there have been little bites of information like that floating around for the last couple of years but nothing seems to come from it, well, the OLED one came and that wasn’t really what people were waiting on.

Fingers crossed!!

Nintendo rumors are out of control. I can’t believe anything anyone says about them. The Switch pro was supposed to come out 2 years ago.

If I were you, I’d wait. They’re planning on releasing a new one here soon, but yes it is worth it because there are many good games. You have Zelda, Mario, and many good games. Many game companies release their games on PC platforms. With Nintendo, this never ever happens. So yes, buy a switch.

zelda is fun on it.

and also skyrim believe it or not lol.

might buy d3 for it, and/or animal crossing I heard those are good too, on that platform.

Bought one around the beginning of the year.

Has definitely not been worth it.

The way I see it, you only buy a switch if you meet 1 of these criteria:

  1. Hardcore fan of Nintendo exclusives. Mario, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, etc.
  2. Too much expendable income.
  3. REALLY appreciate handheld consoles.

I’m #2 and regret the purchase. Mario and Pokemon especially are just… cakewalks. To the point that it’s not fun when I’m not a 9 year old bad at everything. And Metroid Dread was underwhelming and I hated the environments. And I prefer to play hooked up to the monitor so portability was never really a bonus for me.

There has been rumors of a Switch Pro ever since it OG Switch released, but this is different. This wasn’t an “insider” leaking stuff, but data stolen from Nvidia and then held ransom. It included much more than just the API for Switch2, like for example the personal security numbers for all of Nvidias employees.
Nvidia did not comply with the hackers wishes and so they uploaded all their stolen data to the web. I am pretty sure they were caught a few weeks months later and were sentenced to prison.

Besides, the Switch will be 6 years old next year. So obviously they are working on a new one. The question is just when it will be released.

Yeah, the other titles on the switch suck right now. You have a bunch of weird games on there, and quite honestly a lot of which are sort of weird and unappealing to play. I’m sort of disappointed to be honest, I really wish we could get a remake of some of the Zelda games like Majora’s mask, Ocarina of time, and of course Twilight Princess.

I agree 100% so many letdowns on some of the major titles. I was disappointed in New Horizons, the game was fun for the first few weeks but after a while I was just wondering why I was even playing the game, it gave me no fun factor. BOTW was fantastic no complaints there. But I’d really love to see some older remakes of some titles.

Lol, that’s hilarious. If it’s true it doesn’t follow Nintendo’s history with tech, but I guess it’s possible. I just want Switch in 1440p, that’s all I care about, and a bit more power.

Only regret I had buying a Switch this year was not getting the Monster Hunter Rise delux system.

I am still having a blast nuzlock running Pokemon Sword. Pokemon Arceus is amazing. Just ordered Brilliant Dimond. Looking forward to Scarlet.

Zelda is always a win.

Mario Odyssey was pretty fun to play as well.

I also got the Ring Fit to get some exercise into my gaming lol.

if there are mutli games you will enjoy / think you will enjoy, the consul is pretty good, i gave in and bought one, and got Breath of the wild, Skyrim, and Burn out Paradise, and I’ve enjoyed playing them on the go. im looking to get a few more Switch /Nintendo only games. as the last Nintendo consul i owned was the Super Nintendo, and the last handheld i owned was a Gameboy (black and white screen). so yeah, waying my options to play some games i haven’t

like mario cart, Dragon quest games, ect ect

Believe it or not, Nintendo has quite a bit of hmm, how do I put this? 18+ games, I don’t mean the games with gore or usage but you get it.

Horrible overpriced controllers that can cause carpal tunnel and fall apart easily.

Bad store and online compared to Sony and Xbox.

Lack of a trophy system

Not replying to you specifically…

But I’m starting to think the OP is doing market research for someone because they have made a unique topic asking if they should buy each of the systems in the last two days.

Interesting behavior for a 7 post toon.

I hate the joycons, they need a rename of sadcons because seriously, who are the joycons made for? Five-year-olds with tiny hands? Like, let’s say you’re playing Mario Kart with a friend and you’re stuck using the joycons the buttons are horrendously small, especially on the black part. And $60 dollars for two joycons? No thank you, I think I spent $75 dollars on the switch pro controller.

Yeah, now that you mention it I remember seeing the PS5 post and didn’t really think much of it. If anything, this question should be a simple question to ask nowadays, Xbox and PS5 have exclusives to a lot of their games you can get off steam, while with Nintendo you have a lot of exclusives that you cannot play anywhere else. So, I see as get the console your friends have and go with that. But that’s what I think.

I don’t even think it has one, does it?

No. If you don’t have a trophy for a game, did you ever really play it?

Its why I like the lite version of the switch. No joycons

Oh that reminds me. Resident Evil 4 and a bunch of other capcom games are on sale for one more day. 10 bucks for RE4? Sign me up
