And time.
The gear treadmill that Blizzard pushes in WoW is ridiculous. But it keeps people playing for longer, so it supports their motive as a company to not have to create as much or as engaging content, just make people repeat it a bunch.
Allow everyone to have easy access to BIS gear and you’ll start to see the difference in those elitists who are good and those who just have time.
I totally disagree. Grinding has ALWAYS been part of wow. It should be leaned into more.
May artifact power never return.
Is this really a issue though? I think it’s okay that some specs have greater complexity than others. You can also choose the level of complexity you want to engage with the vast majority of players don’t need to track that much in order to accomplish their goals. You can get AotC every tier if you just press a button every global.
And that’s more than good enough for most players.
A fair percentage of players wearing the top end gear paid for carries to get it. I think there should be a way for anyone to get any gear they want to try for.
I’m totally fine with more complexity, but that’s still something weakaura are needed in this case. You can’t realistically do it with the basic UI. And I don’t see why we need so many useless buffs.

That’s delvers crying wolf preemptively.
Rentralo / Padgaree are delvers.
And Vanya is inviting discussion on current state of game.
All gear is available to 100% of players currently. Job done, you’re welcome?
I can’t dunk. I’m not petitioning the NBA to lower all nets to accommodate me.

Is this pro league championship or a video game?
THe purpose of NBA to select best of the best.
The purpose of WOW to provide entertainemnet for EVERYONE.

Do you pay the NBA for the privilege of playing their game? If so you could have a very different outlook.

But if you pay for a game with hard content, then, it’s reasonable to expect, that the game has hard content?
Yupe if WOW is not for everyone, they could refund and keep deevloping game only for 50 top players.
WOW is for everyone, that’s why there are so many difficulty levels, so everyone can find something they enjoy, hopefully.

Its not for everyone, if not everyone can obtain max level gear.
They can make it as hard or easy as they want, but I will only pay for as long as it’s fun.
Poe 2 just dropped. I’m not going to play that till it gets nerfed a couple dozen times. Then I will start looking at spending some time / money on their game.
What a ridiculous take.
Why are you still paying for this game that you’re so fundamentally against?
Vote with your wallet.
Which makes your NBA analogy frivolous?
No it really doesn’t. If I was paying the NBA and they wanted to keep me paying, and I really wanted to dunk. They would be wise to lower the basket or put in trampolines. What ever made them the most money.
If they cared about you specifically, sure.
If they care about their target of like the top 1% of basketball players, not so much.
Leagues with entry fees aren’t that uncommon.
I recall a TFT tournament a while back (in person) like a 150 entry fee with no requirements, and reduced entry fees or free for challenger level players. Some people surely paid to participate and got knocked out on the first day.
Why do you think Blizzard is not actively making decisions that do this?
