Delves being too rewarding is a problem perceived by some Mythic+ players who feel compelled to engage with delves instead of focusing on their preferred content. This distinction is critical because the issue lies not with delve rewards but with how Mythic+ content is structured in comparison.
For example, Mythic+ players often express frustration about having to run delves to skip lower-level Mythic+ keys. They highlight that lower keys don’t feel rewarding enough and that delves are “too lucrative.” However, delve players are not responsible for this imbalance. Many delve players enjoy this content exclusively and have no interest in progressing to Mythic+.
If the goal is to address the frustration of Mythic+ players, the solution should focus on improving lower-key rewards or making that content more enjoyable. Punishing delve players by nerfing rewards or progression will only alienate an entire playerbase that derives enjoyment from delves as their main activity. Such changes could even cause delve-focused players to disengage entirely, harming the game’s overall health.
Instead of forcing a trade-off between these two groups, Blizzard should aim for solutions that benefit both. Enhance the reward structure of lower Mythic+ keys or offer new incentives that align with Mythic+ players’ goals. Meanwhile, leave delve rewards intact for those who prefer that content. That way, Mythic+ players feel less pressure to engage with delves, and delve players can continue enjoying their chosen content without compromise.
Delves are way over-rewarding for their lack of difficulty. Hero end-of-delve rewards are easily acquired on fresh 80s. The solution is to actually increase the difficulty to match, not inflate 0s and 2s with hero gear.
It’s not the fault of delve players, but it is the responsibility of the devs to make sure rewards feel appropriate.
Which means they needed to decide if low M+ wasn’t rewarding enough, or if delves were too rewarding. Even as a delve player I’ve been of the opinion that delves hand out gear a little bit too quickly, though I’m fine with the level of gear that can be obtained from it.
I’d also like to see a little more natural progression in the difficulty of the delves. It’s kind of crazy that all my alts have been able to jump right into T8 within the same hour I hit max level on them.
This is probably the biggest thing. I’ve leveled alts of 7 classes, it’s not unusual to have items replaced by something over 100ilvl increase in the slot.
They aren’t too rewarding at all, you just hit the maximum reward point far quicker than M+ because tier 8 delves are super accessible. Delves shot out to a gearing lead initially but anyone doing m+ has overtaken them now.
It’s pretty clear that mythic+, where you can get carried, is simply an inferior challenge to the guantlet of 8-11 delves. It’s time someone said it. It’s sad mythic+ players won’t just do the work to get the delve gear. Cap delves at 3 players max btw.
No. It’s a problem with one type of content invalidating another because it is easier and provides better rewards.
Improving low tier M+ loot is not practical because it would require improving higher tier M+ loot, which given that it is infinitely farmable is also not going to happen.
You’re just going to have to accept that delves were too lucrative and deal with it. Sorry.
Once again, the devs give us an actual enjoyable piece of content for solo players, but other people in this game are going to ruin it by asking to nerf the rewards.
It’s a tale as old as time.
I really hope the devs have learned this lesson by now and don’t listen to these people. Let people actually enjoy playing this game if they don’t raid or do M+. Go raid and do M+ and stop thinking so much about what other people in this game are doing. People getting gear easier isn’t making it harder for you to find people to do keys or raids with, if anything it makes it easier. I bet these people still think that if delves give good rewards that’s actually the reason why they choose not to raid or do M+, and not just because they don’t have the time, or they don’t want to.
And you’ll just have to accept it when other customers stop paying and degrade the product. Enjoy your elitism and eP33N! If Blizz had your attitude, Mythic+ wouldn’t even be a thing. Heroics wouldn’t even be a thing. You want the best gear? You and 39 of your friends better hop on vent and make it happen.
This is such a silly take. You really don’t think there are people out there who do both? You know, like to increase the chances of getting better gear? And the people who do delves and don’t do low keys aren’t doing low keys because delves give better gear, they aren’t doing low keys because they don’t want to. It’s that simple.
Delves are not “invalidating” low keys. That is just complete BS that you made up.
I think they need to nerf the rewards from low keys because they are invalidating my ability to exclusively just do delves because I feel pressured to also do low keys and that’s just not right.
Do you not see how ridiculous that sounds? Just don’t do it if you don’t want to.
I think the main issue was delves were unlocked before M+.
If they came out at the same time it would be easier to judge what effect they had on each other but right now delves came out earlier so it’s an unfair comparison.
That’s not the main reason why people are t doing low level mythic +. Think about it with the anniversary patch there so many better rewards to give you gear and crest then low level m+ I got my alts up to 590 easily without doing delves or m+ just do the weekly in the main city hub, do 5+ time walking dungeons, chrome seaneio daily do black rock weekly. Blizzard is raining gear basically on easy content why would I need to do delves and m+ ?
Also to get champion gear at the end of delves you have to use a key so is not like you can keep on repeating it again and again unlike M+ which if you want you can run it 24/7.
I think delves offering hero track gear is fine. Considering that higher level tiers don’t offer anything better, the occasional Delver’s Bounty giving hero gear doesn’t seem game breaking to me.
If you’re playing Delves exclusively, it’ll take you a while to get a full set of hero gear, and that doesn’t even include tier which you’d have to wait on. Hero track gear IS useful for delve players seeing how the higher tier delves are more geared towards a much higher ilvl than the 603 it usually stops at with keys.
Factor in that there’s no bad luck protection with preventing you from getting a hero item in a slot you’re already covered in, and the occasional odd hero track drop isn’t that major of a reward for what you could use it for.
