If you keep taking this dude’s bait then we might get the topic deleted again.
My bad, I was going to stop and I think I will now.
I think honesty is better, but not something Americans value imo.
My mistake, cross realm bg’s were absolutely part of vanilla. Cross realm zones were not, I just read the op too quickly and copy pasted without noticing he mentioned zones. I will fix that in an edit, ty for bringing it to my attention.
Do you understand that on your crusade, the system can also be abused to hurt innocent people? Don’t like something, put it on ignore. You aren’t elected to be decider to what others want to hear or see.
Blizzard resolved gold seller spam already, and it’s not by right click reports either. There is no gold spam in BFA.
Basic logic… You remember that thing you where claiming to be using? Are you kidding me right now?
Something /ignore does immediately (or a temporary ignore list could be created to handle). THEY ARE ON THROW AWAY ACCOUNTS. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT??!? Meanwhile, the asinine policy you are shilling for actually has collateral damage on real players, whether or not you are intelligent enough to grasp very basic concepts.
You and Galdor being uneducated on the function, mechanics, and flaws of a topic doesn’t make my posts “bait”…
They literally fired CS people in the past year… Did you not notice the blue poster for this very forum abruptly changed? Yeah that was a CS job, and yeah… he’s gone… At least make your lies somewhat believable, this is just getting pathetic.
Remember the “sticks and stones” rhyme? It’s BS. That is if we’re actually wanting to prevent innocent people being hurt.
Also we won’t have the gold token in classic, so the gold spammers will absolutely be back.
they solved gold sellers back in classic too, they made it impossible to post on free accounts (there are no free accounts in new classic).
they updated chat algorithms to detect gold spam. it went down to nothing by time TBC came out.
One last post for the troll. Ythisens was a Community Manager, he was NOT PART OF THE CS TEAM.
I’m sorry, Meowlena, while I am not at liberty to discuss recent events, you appear to be misinformed regarding our CS staffing. The reduction in force that we experienced took place back in 2012.
No, he was a Community Manager, not part of the CS team…
Which is a customer service job. Congrats on splitting irrelevant hairs. I don’t give a single damn what blizzard wants to label it under, it doesn’t change what the job was.
It’s not trolling pointing out that you don’t know what the hell you are talking about with the right click report system and auto squelch…
but do be a dear, and actually answer the damn question about booms…
How does he avoid getting RCR->squelched?
You cowered away from attempting to answer it last time with a rather pathetic attempt at a deflection…
whatever…
Do I have to link the relevant blue post that Galdor posted? He said the same thing and yet you got testy with me.
edit: and silence…
I played quite a bit until mid cata or so, and gold spam was there the whole time through. It was worst in my memory during vanilla and wrath.
As I’ve said before, I’m fine with RCR as a convenience. It isn’t always possible to write a full report in a timely manner, when you’re super busy with something, and you see drive-by misbehavior.
However, auto-squelch and the fabled auto-disconnect have got to go. I’ve personally seen enough flag abuse on these forums alone to believe that community-sourced moderation is inherently destructive. And in Classic, when the ability to communicate is essential to getting things done? No way, man.
I can live with that. As I have said, RCR is fine, the auto-squelch is the point of contention. If you get silenced, let the GMs decide that.
I just don’t want to wait days for someone spamming slurs and “jokes” to get removed from the chats. Blizz has never been particularly timely when it comes to moderation.
This is true too.
BUT, if the GMs immediately respond to reports, people would scream “it’s automated” and then we are back to zero.
I honestly don’t think squelching is a particularly harsh punishment in the first place. People have told tales of getting kicked from BGs and the like, which certainly is too much, but being kicked out of trade chat for a day or so isn’t game breaking and if it’s done spuriously repeatedly I’m certain blizz can step in and prevent the obvious harassment.
Like, if someone leaks that they’re trans or something and some jerks start reporting them as a form of harassment, that’s something blizz is able to do something about.
I’m really not gonna touch that, as my opinions have been always resulted in personal attacks and ingame harassment and quite frankly I’m a little tired of it happening. I usually don’t mind discussing it civilly.
Understandable. I hope you reported that harassment I suppose that’s why lots of people use an alt to forum post.
