After completing the full intro questline for the new area, I took in an alt without doing it and I now can’t activate the Renown section for their reputation as I haven’t been able to complete a quest called “Smells like Loamm” (which is part of that intro questline). My Renown bar looks like this:
Is there any way for me to activate this as my game stands atm or does it mean I have to go back and somehow activate that questline (and if so how do I do that?) There is no way to figure this out ingame that I have found and I am very frustrated.
Note: I am earning rep, it shows on my Reputation screen but I cannot track what benefits etc I earn because the Renown bar is locked.
Id really appreciate it if somehow it could be clearly explained to players how they deal with this issue of bypassing the questline and going straight to the zone.
That’s great information, but regards the weekly quest you can pick up in Valdrakkan.
The issue here is that after completing the campaign in ZC, they brought in their alt and can get rep with the Niffen, but the rep tracking is locked.
Yesterday, someone else had this issue. They figured out that they had to activate the Forbidden Reach skip on their alt to have access to the Niffen reputation tracker.
I have exactly the same problem on two of my alts.
Did the responses about skipping the Forbidden Reach quests work for you? I have done all of the Forbidden Reach quests on both of my alts. I believe my issue started when I got to the quest to free Elder Honeypelt from the rock in the cavern. I was starting the process and I DC’ed. When I got back online, the rock and Honeypelt were gone. So, I never did get he quest from Honeypelt and there was no quest in my list for me to abort to start over. Seems like a bug, but I cannot get any help from support. They just say check for forums but no help there. I will try aborting any Forbidden Reach quests I have and if it helps I will post again.
It isn’t necessary to do every quest in Forbidden Reach. All you need to do is go there and start the questline and don’t accept any skips. Within a fairly short time (I think maybe 2 or 3 quests) you want to get the quest “News from Beneath” from Ebyssian next to Scalecommander Emberthal on Dragonskull Island which is an island off the north eastern coast of Forbidden Reach.
If you can’t see it, go back to Valdrakken and see if the quest “The Land Beneath” is available up on the Seat of the Aspects. Then go back and do “News from Beneath” and the questline to activate the Cavern activities should run from there.
Because unfortunately what you’re asking for is a game hint, which is one of the big things that GMs absolutely cannot do. Now, perhaps once the staff gets in in the morning, one of our SFAs can take a peek and see if they may be able to find out where you should be looking. It’s not guaranteed, but they do try to help when and where they can.
Also, for future reference - please don’t necro threads older than a week or two at most.
We’re already two patches in since the original post was made. And your case is a little different due to drop/lost quests rather than the rep not opening across all alts. In the future, please do create your own thread rather than reviving something five months dead.
Leilleath isn’t wrong when she said GMs cannot give game hints. That’s been a policy for an extremely long time.
However, the SFAs that respond in this forum are not GMs and do help direct players in the right direction from time to time. Whenever someone comes here complaining they didn’t get help with a quest after putting in a ticket, the SFAs have confirmed the GMs cannot give quest hints or game hints in any way, shape, or form.
Overall, it’s important to recognize the distinction between an SFA (Support Forum Agent, those with the ‘Customer Support’ title on the new forums) and GMs. The SFAs are part of the same team that posts on Social Media. There are certain things SFAs can do that GMs cannot due to differing policies.
Nobody said there was. The only issue was necroing your old thread rather than creating a new one for their particular issue. It’s what has been advised many times over that it’s never a good idea to resurrect anything more than a week or two old, due to the fact that in that time so many changes (hotfixes, patches, expansions) can have occurred game-side that it’s very, very rare that what caused the original issue is what is causing the current one.
I really feel like you’re not even reading what I wrote. You’re picking things to attack on even though while I said one thing, but then elaborated on why I said that particular thing
Most of time when someone says they can’t get any help from support, that means they’ve put in tickets and have received no response. As I’ve not seen that person bring their issue here to CS as yet, that is what I took from their statement. That is why I specifically said that GMs cannot give game hints, but that perhaps once the staff gets into the office today, one of our SFAs may be able to pop their head in and see what’s what.
GMs are only accessible through tickets. Our SFAs are only accessible here and through the social media support sites. Different positions have different procedures they must adhere to. It wasn’t to dissuade the poster from contacting support, it was explaining what the different flavors can and cannot do.
