There’s a really good chance that I’m older than your parents, kid.
This is one of those pot-kettle moments.
Probably better to not engage.
I’ll explain it better.
My friend and I hadn’t played for almost 10 years. We went to Blizzard’s website to check out the promotions, features, and benefits, and we saw that there was a new RAF program. While the benefits were worse than before, it offered a 50% XP bonus, which would allow us to level up much faster.
We decided to buy the current expansion and pay for a subscription for each of us to return to the game, with the decisive factor being the RAF program.
After purchasing the two ‘The War Within’ expansions and activating our accounts, we started trying to link our accounts, but it never worked. Now, we’re unable to use a benefit that Blizzard actively markets to attract players back to the game.
I’m sorry, but if you can’t see the costs involved in this process for something that should simply work, I’m afraid I can’t explain it any better.
And Vrakthris mentioned:
This was 4 days ago. If Vrakthris hasn’t replied, then either he hasn’t heard anything or he hasn’t got any news available to share at this time.
My friend, I’m going to assume that you’re just a well-intentioned person trying to help. I really want to thank you for your contribution, but unfortunately, it doesn’t solve my problem at all.
I still believe that a company like Blizzard shouldn’t leave people waiting for 4 days without providing a timeline to respond to its customers. None of these people work for free… we’re all here doing business, and our friend Vrakthris is getting paid to do exactly this kind of work. I don’t see anything wrong with demanding my rights.
In the company I work for, which develops software, when we receive a bug report, we have an initial timeframe to investigate the issue superficially and provide an estimate of how long it will take to address the problem. And you can be sure that the company I work for doesn’t come anywhere close to Blizzard’s revenue, yet we manage to provide customer support where no one is left without a response
You got what you paid for - Two TWWs xpacks and two game times. The RaF is a perk, (as in, they offering and can take it away at any given moment) and isn’t required to play the game.
There is no rights being violated here, there isn’t really a demand to make either. If there’s something to report, or just something to let it fix itself.
And if I can’t use a perk that was promised when I returned to the game, you don’t see any right violations being done? (they still offering btw)
I respect everyone’s opinion, even if you disagree with me, but in my opinion, the passivity of people is exactly why we’ve reached this stage in the game, where so many people are unhappy with how things are handled (just take a look at the support forums), and why there’s been a drastic drop in players.
Firstly, you do not know the reason why people would’ve stopped playing. All we can do is speculate, but the speculation does not mean facts. And this is not the place to speculate on such things.
Secondly, things do go wrong by Blizzard’s end. Blizzard does notify people when things go wrong at their end, and it is upto which ever team is in charge to find the cause to the poblem, and fix it.
Thirdly, you and your friend can play World of Warcraft. Even without the Warbands bonus and Recruit a Friend Experience bonus, levelling is extremely quick, getting from 1 to 80 in no time.

Unfortunately, it’s not possible to draw here, so I can’t explain it to you any better. I’m sorry.
If you say so.
Everyone else will consider this simply as a bug, and that the devs are working on it.
There really isn’t a conspiracy at play here.
Now, the devs will not provide info based on 'what if’s" - which is what you are asking for - “what happens if the 7 days expires” - and yes, it’s a fair question to ask given the circumstance.
This isn’t opinion. It’s fact. It’s Blizzards stance all along.
They won’t provide info on something until the initial problem is fixed, and the scope of affected players has been identified.
If the devs were to say right now - oh, we can extend the eligibility for a temporary time to allow affected accounts to be linked, then they discover an issue preventing this - you’d be even more upset.
All we can suggest is to hang tight and wait for any updates to come down the pipe.
I can see the workticket Vrak alluded to, it’s been assigned.
We simply don’t have any updates past that at this time.
Fixes aren’t necessarily as simple as they may seem. First, they have to be confirmed. Then they have to be investigated and the more systems they touch, the more complex they are.
Especially on something that works - then doesn’t. That often is an indicator of a change that had unintended consequences. Not specific to just this one, that’s standard on any bug QA and the devs need to work through.
When we know something, we’ll let you know.
Thank you so much for the feedback dude!
It’s the same that you were already told, Blackstab.
This is primarily a player to player help forum. Our regulars are VERY good at knowing how things work around here - you’ve been given very accurate responses.
I respect your opinion, but I have a different one. This is an official support channel where Blizzard employees are present, it’s not just a player-to-player forum.
You could say that, but as Orlyia mentioned: “This is a player to player help forum.”
If you disagree with players helping players here, might I suggest you leaving a suggestion in an appropriate location, which I think…
Is here if I remember correctly?
EDIT:
But never guaranteed.
Even when told by a Blizzard employee, you still want to argue that you’re right?
BTW, you’re welcome.
I don’t disagree with people helping each other here, my friend. What I disagree with is people contributing things that don’t help at all. If I’m reporting an issue I’m experiencing, why do people feel the need to dismiss what I’m saying, even without understanding the situation? That’s what I disagree.
I can have any opinion I want, my friend. I’m a free person. If you look at my sentence, I said it’s my opinion.
