Hey everyone. I decided to make a catch-all thread for anyone wanting to discuss Battle Pets. So with that being said, I’ll start with a question. I’ve been farming in the DMF for a pure speed Crow with Double speed ID’s. Is this pet in the game at the moment? All of the ones I’ve ran into have either been Power/Speed or Power/Power.

I’ve spent most of the day fighting everything on the island and have not seen one crow yet.
They’re pretty rare. There’s 6 different pets that can spawn as a backup, and from my experience you either get back to back spawns, or you can go over an hour with none of them.
Any tips on how to reach the ones that are up to high to reach? I use my NE which is the tallest and sit on my biggest mounts but cant reach some.
Some of them I still haven’t figured out, but most of them you have to watch their pathing and sit on the tallest hills where they roam.
Don’t forget that there’s also some on the huge mountain next to the entrance that goes down the whole right side of the island.
Edit: To clarify. They only spawn as backup, and only level 5 Glowfly’s and higher will come with one. So anything below that will not come with a Crow.
Ok, thanks. I knew about the east side pets but did not know that only lvl 5 and up could come with a crow. That’ll save a lot of time wasting fighting the low lvl ones.
I’ll post the pet lists I’ve made, they’re not the ones you need to catch in the wild, but it should help.

I think crows not being s/s can be an addon issue, I caught p/s crows that turned s/s. I have seen crows spawning all over as backup pets so Im not sure there’s a preferable location.
Some of the glowfly spawns are not very acessible but it’s possible to pull them down with deathgrip and by running out at some point you will get out of combat and if youre quick enough you can start a battle before it reset. While thats doable I only did this when there was too much competition as it takes more time.
As for pet battles Im pretty happy to be done with both raiding for leashes achievements as I got pretty lucky this week and dropped both Vashj and Gluth pets. Soloing those has been interesting.
This seems to be the case. The add-on that I’m using has the stats mixed up for the Crow.
And I’m over here unable to muster the DPS to solo Twin Emps because sword-bro punts me every few seconds and I’m too cast reliant.
What are some good easy to get pets for starting PvP? I’ve tried a few fights with my max level pets, but I really don’t know what is good or what to try to get.
Yeah I tried it once on my dk and couldn’t seem to make any headway with it. Maybe my dks gear sucks or I just missed a trick of the fight, I dunno, but I saw the pet on the ah for relatively cheap so just grabbed him lol.
In a week or so we’ll be 90 and these raiding pets will be much easier to get I’m sure.
The Fiendish Imp is one I highly recommend. It drops from the Satyr in Karazhan, or you can buy it somewhat cheap off the AH. It has an aura it can use that does damage to the active enemy pet, and it persists even if you swap pets. It also has one of the best skills in the game right now; Nether Gate, which force swaps the enemy pet.
Some other good ones are the Fossilized Hatchling from Archeology, or the AH. It has Bonestorm, which does a huge amount of AoE to the whole enemy team.
And finally, I would go with a Rabbit. Try to find a S/S ID for it. It can do a good chunk of damage while avoiding incoming damage.

Finally got my first crow. P/S. I had switched to my DK to go fish and fill my bags with crates and decided to try the lvl 6 fly that is to the left as soon as you port in to DMF and he was the second pet

Thanks. Got a P/P since then but have not yet seen a S/S. Can I just kill low level Glowflies to spawn a higher level or do I actually have to battle them to kill them to try and get a higher level with a crow? Or does it even make a difference?
I’m trying to level quickly just so I can roam the world and pet battle.
