Yes. I server transferred one horde character and the issue affects ALL characters on my account, horde/alliance/all servers.

Sad to hear they continue to let people use that service while knowing what it’s doing to accounts.

Yeah it’s definitely any transfer. I transferred a toon I’ve never done a single pet battle on and it broke all of them.

I’m about to lose my mind. I got ANOTHER GM response saying the same thing. Submit a bug report. I did. Reply again “You don’t have the achievement. Submit a bug report.” I have the achievement. Look at it. This is beyond frustrating.

I’m not thoroughly annoyed or anything… same exact issue. 2000 down to 1000. Not able to battle. Slots not open. Quests reset. All of it.

Ok, a small note. Tired of waiting for a helpful reply I went back and redid the heroic version of the BRD dungeon (I did the initial quests to unlock my battle pet slots) and reobtained my Minion of Mayhem title. So, there’s that. Still salty, btw.

Waiting on a reply about my pet capacity dropping to 1000. It sounds like at least one of y’all has gotten the pet portals mailed to you. Hopefully the 4th GM to contact me will send me one. I guess I’d just suggest waiting (which I just couldn’t do) or going to the initial pet trainer to unlock the slots so you can at least battle. I have a bag full of pets I can’t add, but at least I can do dailies and collect charms.

Dlaciaba - since you’re the only one here that has gotten some semblance of pro-active help from a GM so far, is there any chance you could post the actual replies you got (but *** out the GM names!) when they sent you the Pet Portals to get your limit back to 2000? This may be helpful to nudge the GMs in the right direction that are otherwise just telling some of us to reset UI and submit bug reports.

While it doesn’t really matter at this point, I don’t think the GMs are necessarily the most to blame. They’re the ones left to deal with the mess, and I’d bet they haven’t been given even the slightest direction on how to clean it up from the devs. I mean, if they had some sort of internal note that just said “send the player a pet portal”, I’m sure they’d be doing that rather than leaving these unhelpful replies that they know are just gonna go right back in their queue of tickets. Instead, they’ve probably been left hanging, like the rest of us, to cobble together a “solution” based on a vague support article, which only references the 1500 pet portal being missing and nothing about missing quests, title(s), etc.

Frankly, the devs are the ones that would actually understand this bug and the ramifications of it under the hood (particularly anything that we don’t see), and they should be communicating to the GMs what to do. Or better yet, the dev(s) that let this bug go live during a rare sale on character services should be forced to play GM for a day and deal with us to fix our accounts, that’ll learn 'em! :wink:

It appears to have happened after I faction transferred my hunter. I am basically unable to do anything with the battle pet window. For example, it wants me to go to a Battle Pet Trainer to learn how to collect and fight with battle pets, then earn the achievements [Newbie] and [Just a Pup] to unlock the subsequent two slots.

The forum reply from the Blizzard Customer Service Rep said “…it has been identified as an issue, the Game Masters should be able to assist if they can confirm you’re affected.”, and that I should open a ticket.

The GM that addressed my ticket said “Right now we are receiving reports on this issue happening to some players in game, what we are asking is for you to submit a bug report.” Which I have already done…

I am not sure what to do now aside from sit and wait? The silliest part is I have a physical collectors edition sitting here, and I am not sure if I should active it yet because it comes with a pet that I can presumably not claim at the moment. Also, all this appears to have happened because I paid for a faction change.

Oh, I didn’t really say anything special, just that I was locked to 1k when I should have 2k…lemme finagle the thingies here though, just in case…

My 1st ticket:
The number of battle pets I can have was reset to 1000, I’d bought both items that expanded my collection to 1500, and then 2000. Halp! I’m at 1400+, and can’t learn any new ones. :frowning:

I have some good news. I’ve sent (Toon Name) the Pocket Pet Portal. I was able to verify that you definitely unlocked it on your account in the past so once you claim the portal again you’ll be all set to claim more pets. ^^
I’ve reported this as a bug to our developers so they can work on this issue. It is something they are aware of, but the more reports the better! Would you please submit a bug report from your end of things as well? This can be done from the red “?” help menu in-game and those reports are sent directly to our developers to look into. From there they will work on preventing this in the future. I know running into these kind of issues can be irritating, but thanks for your understanding here.

So, I sent another reply, because I had the Interdimensional Pet Portal, for 2000 pet limit:
I’m supposed to have a 2,000 pet limit; I’d bought the Interdimensional Pet Portal several months ago, on either (Toon A) or (Toon B), those two were the horde and alliance characters, respectively, that I’ve been stockpiling pet charms on.

I did go ahead and submit it as a bug in-game, too.

So, yeah. Should have 2k limit, and they re-sent the things to give me 2k limit. Not sure what’s meant by “refreshed my account”.

I can’t speak to the Minion title, I don’t have it, the only hardmode dungeon I’ve done is Gnomeregan, and that was with much wailing and gnashing of teeth. :sweat_smile: I still have the achievement for it, and as far as I can tell I’m not missing any pets, so mine might’ve been an easy fix.

Just submit an in-game bug report if you haven’t, and wait for them to get to your ticket, I suppose! They’re likely swamped at the moment because of the sale, since what’s for sale is apparently causing the issue. Dx

Thanks for that! Out of curiosity, since you at least did Gnomeregan, can you check and see if the Manapoof NPC offers to port you there? I doubt the “refresh” fixed that, just checking though.

Manapoof doesn’t offer the port from Boralus, and the gnome beside it, Tizzy Gearjolt, has the quest to go see Micro Zoox again. :frowning:

I tried to open an in-game ticket but the interface in WoW really doesn’t want you to open a ticket. I ended up having to put it under “account” and “my issue is not listed”. Says it’s a 3 and a half day wait time so…I guess I get the hint. Don’t submit tickets for bugs.

Felt like I was trying to open a trouble ticket with comcast. bleh.

The Customer Support forum is up to at least four threads about this now. They all now have links back to this one.

I too have been affected by this “bug”…glad to have found this thread so I know I’m not alone and losing my mind.

I did transfer two characters recently so that seems to fit the potential cause, and I had the portal on my account that allowed up to 2k pets (currently sitting at 1389) but can’t learn any new ones. Had to restart the pet battle chain just to be able to do anything (that was before I found this thread–definitely not rebuying the portal…I need my charms for better things).

I hope we hear something productive soon. I have sent a ticket in and first they said rest your UI, blah blah blah…I have since replied with the article ID number that specifically states to contact customer support for assistance–we shall see how that goes.

My update - I got a reply to my ticket and they did re-send the Pocket Pet Portal. I had to reply to ask for the Interdimensional Pet Portal (2000 limit) as well, but presumably they’ll send that too. No word about the lost title or anything else.

Also, for those that are getting the automated reply talking about UI resets and such, it sounds like maybe this is actually better for us as we ultimately get a faster response, BUT you MUST respond to that initial copy & paste reply so the ticket goes to a real person, see this blue post:

On another side note, since nothing had been fixed on my account and I figured it wouldn’t get any worse, I did another server transfer last night (I have a few lined up while the sale is active, and didn’t want to keep waiting in limbo for something that doesn’t seem any closer to being fixed). Interestingly, this time I did not lose pet battle training, though I hadn’t re-done any of the other lost stuff, so I can’t say whether things are any more stable. And I think I’ll wait on using the restored pet portals until my transfers are done, spent too much time dealing with this already to keep waiting on tickets every time.

I’ll make one last appeal to whoever may be monitoring these bug reports and may have the ear of the devs, please do right by us and restore what we lost. I’m not going to be toxic, and in the end if we only lost some inconsequential quest completions and have to re-do the pet dungeons and other one-time quests to get back where we were, so be it. But if we ended up losing something that cannot be recovered by players in-game, please take whatever steps are necessary to take care of it. Whether on sale or not, we all paid extra money for these character services, and some of us have spent a lot of time trying to provide info and get a resolution with little or no re-assurance that anything will end up being done. Please just don’t leave us hanging!

I’m having the same problem. Today I submitted my second ticket regarding this problem.
Mine happened after I transfered reals with one chatecter. Might me a coincidence.
Lots of buggs happened, but this is, so far, the most annoying.

I am having the same issue with the slots all being locked and telling me to go talk to the battle pet trainer, and do the leveling to unlock the other two yet I had done that when they introduced pet battles.

Anyone with this problem also lose all their Minis on their Azeroth Mini Collection: Mechagon toy?

I don’t think I had this issue until after I did an account service for character/faction transfer. Did anyone else here transfer or faction change a character? I have also boosted a character.

Seems to be all my account-wide unlocks got reset.
