Mythic+ Dungeon Tuning – December 20

Season 1 is off to a roaring start, and we’ve been playing lots of dungeons and gotten lots of great feedback from players during this first week of Mythic+ in Dragonflight. While we want to be careful not to change too much as players are still figuring out the new dungeons, we’ve identified some areas where we’d like to act on feedback sooner than later.

The following Mythic+ dungeon tuning adjustments will go live with scheduled weekly maintenance this week (tomorrow, December 20 in this region):

So glad to see the Algeth’ar Skitterfly nerfs. I did a +9 on my mage today and that entire room was just me getting insta killed over and over again lol

Not sure entirely how needed these nerfs were since people are still fairly easily pugging +10-13 keys on week one. But only time will tell I suppose.

Next weeks affixes will be brutal for healing. I’m sure a lot of these nerfs have to do with that as well.

nice! looking forward to this week!

def good to see some needed changes before the difficult affix combos coming up!

especially the last boss in Ruby :dracthyr_blob_dance_animated:

Why wait for maintenance when these are needed RIGHT NOW?

Good, but sadly not enough. Theres so many other things that are significantly overtuned and must be nerfed to the ground… Tyrannical week gonna expose so many more overtuned abilities in addition to already existing issues…

For example Overgrown Ancient needs significant nerfs to amount of adds spawned and his tankbuster.

Imagine there was a beta test, lmao.

Look at those damage nerfs. It’s almost like we didn’t need a tank damage reduction nerf last week…

We are playing the beta test

Good but not enough. Some bosses gonna be unkilable for the majority of the player base during Tyranical week. Even on lower keys (12~15)

Exactly :frowning:

I swear that was just a joke of a nerf to do… Tanks do their jobs and tank damage and somehow people associate that with tanks rushing and pulling entire dungeons and exaggerating how they never die…

The freaking clips on twitch of asmon and other tanks “solo’ing” parts of dungeons or open world stuff has always been a thing since Legion and prior to that even… In SL I was a prot paly and spamming word of glory as I pulled 50+ elite mobs in bastion area for a world quest… Never died but took damn near 10 minutes to kill that pack.

What tanks need is a damage buff now and revert the last changes.

Tyrannical is gonna be brutal, lads.

Appreciate the tuning! Would it be possible to bring some of the “easier” instances up to par with the rest? Shadowmoon Burial Grounds is a major outlier just as Ruby Life Pools was an outlier on the opposite side of the spectrum. Buffing is never popular though :frowning:

Looking good so far.

These are for the the group :joy:

This is now an emotional support thread for all healers who had to suffer through Ruby Life Pools.

Myself included.

I think this might actually make things worse. Right now the flame dance on a freshly pulled pack will, if left uninterrupted, blast your party about 2-3 seconds before the elemental also blasts it with uninterruptible aoe damage. In this case, you’re essentially lining up both casts to go off simultaneously if the flame dance finishes, which will instant wipe the party with no hope the healer can recover.

Love the Nokhud changes especially. Everything in that place felt like it was beyond ridiculous. Kind of feel like it needs a trash percentage reduction but meh, I’ll live. Jade Temple trash can also get a nerf and I’d especially love in the dumb trees by the 3rd boss courtyard after library boss can get their branches cut all the way off. Camera positioning and not getting a screen of branch and leaves is harder than the actual trash there…which is already pretty brutal hard hitting trash.

Make the chick in The Nokhud Offensive say “LET FLY” less while you’re at it

Good; though I think the charging mobs in Granyth’s area of Nokhud should probably get a similar treatment since they have a pretty similar tendency to arbitrarily global a ranged if you can’t react extremely quickly.
