Monthly payment

Dear Blizzard, you are KILLING my bank account with the 29.00 Subscription in the store. I use the 14.99 one at the beginning of each month. I guess it is ok with everyone else not me. I edited this.

What “service fee”? I’ve never heard of Blizzard charging a service fee. You sure that’s not from your bank?

Cost me $14.99 plus tax $15.89
Just a little over 6% tax.

You must be paying for 60 days?

Greetings, I recommend contacting your bank to determine why there is a service fee. Blizzard does not charge additional service fees for their subscriptions. Have a blessed evening.

Sounds more like u were double charged u can open a problem with purchase ticket and billing can take a look.

Though it being $29 throws me off, it reads like they’re complaining about having to buy two month blocks instead of the one - since we still do get those pop up now and again. But yeah. There is absolutely no Service Fee for any of Blizzard’s services or items for purchase.

That said, nothing can be solved here on this forum. I would suggest either submitting a ticket or trying to access the Live Chat feature when it’s available, as they can look into billing issues during that time. But if you’re set up for a $14.99 subscription fee, you shouldn’t be seeing anything else. The only other thing I can think of is that it authorizes, and the authorization isn’t quite released immediately so it looks like a double charge? A lot of conjecture on my part, but just trying to think of what it might be since we know there are not any service fees to speak of.

All the best to you in researching and solving this, OP.

A Service Fee does sound like something charged by the financial institution. Could it have been incurred for getting the account overdrawn?

Blizzard does not charge services fees. They only charge the game time or subscrition + any taxes your country/state/province requires by law.

There are several ways to pay for game time and they have changed during the past year. You can no longer buy single blocks of 1 month game time as a stand alone purchase.

Description Cost (USD) CC PayPal Debit Bnet Bal WoW Token
:clock930: 1 Month Day reoccuring Subscription* $14.99 X X X
:clock11: 3 Month reoccuring Subscription* $41.97 X X X
:clock12: 6 Month Day reoccuring Subscription* $77.94 X X X

*If you don’t want your Subscription to automatically renew, wait for it to clear the payment (several days), then cancel the Sub on the account. You can do this every month if you like.

Guys, it is not complicated. The OP is quite clear beyond the choice of term.
There appears to no longer be an option to simply pay for a single month of game time.:

Many of us did this because of frequent breaks from the game. Removing the monthly option and forcing a $30 purchase is not cool.

On the subscription plan you can most definitely do one month at a time. Only game time purchases other than subscription has a minimum of 2 months at a time.

o.O

I don’t think the OP was clear at all! I really wish that they had come back to clarify what it was that they were talking about, because it left the whole thing up for purely guessing what they’re talking about.

Depending on where they’re playing from, the monthly fees could be drastically different too. In Canada, if you choose to pay the 60-day single payment (not a sub), it’s $43.99CAD or $34.62USD which is not in line with the difference in currency. Canadians paying via the 60-day option are actually paying more than anyone else. It’s an increase in the monthly fee unless you pay via a subscription.

Unfortunately, the OP posted a very vague comment and hasn’t yet come back to provide any clarity whatsoever. I’m still leaning towards a bank fee for nonsufficient funds myself.

That sounds an awful lot like an overdraft or insufficient funds (NSF) fee, and isn’t Blizzard’s fault by any stretch of the imagination.

Yo that stinks if they did that because I live paycheck to paycheck and take a month off here and there.

They do not like us to have options in game currently so I’m not surprised they don’t want us having options elsewhere.

Anyone who has utilized the game time purchase (read: NOT a subscription) knows quite well what they were referring to.
You used to be able to purchase 1-month blocks of gametime for a one time cost of 14.99 (read: NOT a subscription) , and now the only gametime option (read: NOT a subscription) is a 2-month for 29.99.

It was not even remotely vague, the only mistake being the term “service fee”.

Edit: Was it a means to combat goldsellers?

The OP actually states that they’re still using the one-month sub for $14.99 and that they’re also being charged a $29 “service fee”.

They don’t mention anything about not being able to buy a single month block of game time (not subscription).

If that’s what they’re getting at, then they can post in the General forums with their feedback. Hopefully they can be a little more clear about it too.

They stated nothing about a sub.

is what they stated.

Each month they would purchase 14.99 worth of time (read: NOT a subscription)
That choice was removed and the only choice now is $29.99

Again, anyone who has paid for individual blocks of game time (read: NOT a subscription) knows precisely what the OP was referring to.

Not sure what is to be gained by continuing to bicker about what the OP may or may not have meant with their post. If the OP wishes to clarify their meaning that will be up to them.

Any feedback concerning Blizzard’s pricing schemes would need to be posted in the appropriate place. That would either be in one of the Community forums (General Discussion is a catch-all) or via the in-game suggestion option.

If op was buying 2 months of game time monthly, I would hope they would be noticing that the end of his game time was getting further in the future.

I would question if they were looking in account Management to find that out, and hope they come back to clarify.

This isn’t anything new, it was implemented several months ago. There are still several options open to us players.
