I was doing a general forum search and I came across these forum posts which kind of made me raise my eyebrows.
Apparently on non-RP servers, people are struggling with a faction imbalance the other way around. That’s there’s too much Horde and not enough Alliance!
Apparently most of the “elite” PvEers and PvPers are Horde. They’re also saying that Alliance loses most BGs. I generally find the reverse, but okay!
I don’t know what any of it means, but just throwing it out there for discussion.
It means matchmaking is broken, that’s pretty much it.
At any level, roleplayers around 10% of the playerbase. That does not mean we don’t suffer from the failed experiments Blizzard is addicted to performing on us, but it also doesn’t mean the game’s overall population balance (which favours Horde a bit) reflects the population imbalance on RP servers, particularly Moon Guard.
Regardless, numbers just don’t matter in roleplay. Some of the communities with the best roleplay around are 50 players or less. Anyone who has a genuine interest in roleplaying on the Horde faction is already doing it. I’ll repeat what I said before: there is plenty of prestige in joining a less populous community and helping it to grow or at least being there to support those who are. It has already grown into something much larger and much more connected than it was a few months ago.
And anyone assessing the “roleplayer” population of the Alliance to be anywhere near the majority of our 75% hold is just delusional. You guys are doing a lot better over here than you may realize. I just hope your hubs aren’t full of people without TRPs (or with red light profiles) in non-RP guilds like ours frequently are.
I’ve been red side for awhile and have not read any red light profiles, but I have only rp’d in In SMC a handful of times. I mention SMC because when I was WRA that was the place. Yeah, there was a lot of good rp happening there, but their were usually 2 brothels open at any time. I’m also not saying that doesnt happen here on MG. I have no doubt it does, but if so it’s not as pronounced. That’s most likely due to Goldshire and it being the largest hub for erp on any server.
If you’re looking for less of that in your face erp crowd then horde on Moonguard may be your best bet.
Can you give me tips to make it go faster? I just finished the main storyline which pushed me a little bit into Honored, but it seems like its very slow going from there.
Quoting Medialion from the old forums so credit to him.
"Highmountain is the easiest of the allied races to unlock due to giving insane amounts of rep for completing the zones main story.
When I was done with everything, I was about 2000 away from revered.
But here is the best method of doing the rest:
-Emisarry for highmountain every time its up. Easy 1500 rep for about 10 minutes of work
-Order hall missions if you built it up, rep tokens are very easy to get from this if you spent time upgrading your followers. 500 rep for a faction as the main reward, with the bonus roll being a random token of any broken isles faction (1500)
-Kirin tor emisarry. Finishing this gives you a choice of 1500 rep for whatever faction you want. Typically spent on factions that are hard to earn rep for like army of light and argusian reach. But if your just after highmountain, go for it.
-Clean out highmountain of every WQ each day. Those 75 rep per quest adds up pretty fast if you clear it out consistantly"
He nailed everything pretty well. I hope this helps speed you along the way to joining us. I would love to see more Tauren out rping, regardless of tauren flavor.
Horde re-roll here! Unlocked Mag’har and went right for them =). My Warlock is already Horde (Changed her last week), though I really wanted a Mag’har Shaman, and so far I LOVE her.
I’m still working on her backstory, since I’m not familiar with Mag’har lore, but I love them.
Going to start looking for a guild for her that doesn’t mind a shy person, and a shy mag’har =)
Horde tavern night is every Wednesday in Org at Wyverns Tail, 8p server time. We also have a horde guild expo on the 3rd Friday of each month at 8p server time. The expo was just last week, but I’m sure others will chime in here with ways to find a guild to your liking. We would gladly take a shy member into Flashbang, but we’re a goblin only guild.
If you’re looking for information about Mag’hars then I’d definitely recommend checking out Nobbel87’s wowhead guide or any of his videos on them!
Like Mekgrim said, the guild expo was last week so you just missed it unfortunately but if you’re interested in a militaristic style pro-Horde guild for any of your characters then maybe consider Warbound Council. [H-RP/PVP/PVE] <The Warbound Council> (Heavy RP-PVP)
Welcome new Horde folks! Your courage is honorable. Please don’t be afraid to ask if you need with anything!
Also, thanks to everyone for helping to bump this thread, and staying positive. Much appreciated.
If you are looking for something different, playing MG Horde is a challenging but rewarding experience, with lots of cool people willing to work together.
Thanks for the tips on the figuring out Mag’har, as well as the guild link. I’m not sure I’m ready for a heavy RP guild, but will certainly keep it in mind =D!
I’m considering trying Horde side again on MG but I really only like to play Blood Elves and am admittedly a little worried about how the RP will be over there.
I’m not sure what flavor guild your looking for, and you may not be looking for a guild at all. Definitely give it a try. You can also reach out to The Sunsworn. There are plenty of Sin’dorei guilds out there. Heres the Sunsworns guild post.
Same with Warbound, although we have no cool green goblins among our midst. Yet.
I think whether a DK is let into a guild is mostly due to the theme of the guild. On Alliance, it’s far more frequent that the guilds dislike DKs or DHs, but on Horde I’ve noticed most themes encompass them into their ranks.
If you’re rolling a character Horde then feel free to also hit up my character if you’d like.
Yeah I don’t think I’ve seen any blatantly open DK hate Horde-side. Generally most classes within the Horde are tolerated/accepted. In our own guild we’ve had a DK as acting High Warlord (GM) before and currently we have 2 in General (Officer) positions.
All in all don’t be afraid to bring a deader to the Red side. <3
