If you think that a Profession could be as fleshed out as an entire class, Then you are simply wrong, they never nor ever will be. That’s just the way of things i’m afraid. Do you honestly, Honestly think a Profession should be able to Tank a raid boss? Or heal a Raid Group?
the Tinker Hero unit could fire missiles, build turrets, and roll around in a Mech Suit. That doesn’t sound like a profession, and if it did, then it’s one OP profession
But I never said that…re read what I’ve actually said in this thread.
As I said in the post you responded to, I have said flesh out engineering from its current state rather than starting new projects that “can” steal ideas from engineering Please read this and understand what I am saying, you’re referencing things I didn’t say.
I never once said in this thread engineering would be expanded upon to such an extent that it’d be an entire class on its own.
I cannot put you on ignore as I don’t have that feature. Please just slow down. Once a month or just make one thread and bump it once a month, okay? Thank you.
If I actually get in trouble with the Blues, then I’d stop, but clearly I’m not breaking any rules. But I’ve never gotten in even the slightest bit of trouble, because my threads are polite, on topic, and not spam.
If you dislike the threads, Simply don’t click on them or comment.
But since you did comment, you helped keep the thread Alive. Thanks!
So you want Engineering to be improved to a state where it feels “Fleshed out” but you don’t want a class?
So the Fantasy of using Mechs, rockets, and Turrets in combat shouldn’t be one of the classes? If so why?
It doesn’t conflict with or harm any existing classes.
Yes it is. Whether you get into trouble or not, it’s obnoxious and it’s worse than High Elf and Final Fantasy threads. At least those are made by different people. Your obsession is just disturbing and I hope they never add them, because of you!
You don’t get to quantify what is spam and what isn’t.
The Forum moderators are the adjudicators.
If they tell me I am spamming and will be punished, then that’s completely fair, and I will stop.
High Elves were added in BC.
Final Fantasy threads aren’t on topic.
My Threads are advocating for something relevant, and are on topic.
Well thank you, that’s quite polite of you to say.
So, did you come with anything of substance to talk about? Or did you just wanna say you don’t like me?
Because I’m never directly rude to anyone on these forums, and it’s quite harsh for you to shoot down someone’s idea just because you don’t enjoy seeing it.
But, just so you know, I hope you continue to enjoy world of warcraft, and I hope you get the changes you want to see.
No I’m not reading your gibberish. Take your obsession down a notch and only post this creepy fetish of yours once a month! Do not respond back to me. I will not read it.
And Why should I meet your arbitrary requirement of what is ok?
Any Logic or Reason behind it?
I Wouldn’t call a new class a Fetish. But you never know, some people are really into druids.
Good, you should Ignore things you dislike.
Please, continue to ignore my threads if they make you unhappy.
This is a nonsensical argument. Engineering will never be fleshed out to the point of becoming a class. That’s not it’s purpose as a crafting profession. Additionally, a technology-based class wouldn’t “steal” anything from engineering, since classes and professions are fundamentally different than each other.
I disagree on that. Engineering has a lot of the core fantasy of tinkers built in.
But it’s the palest shadow of a shadow of what a Tinker could be and then completely watered down because professions have to be balanced against each other, which means that Engineering basically has to be as relevant in combat as the ability to pick flowers else it becomes mandatory.
The core fantasy of the Tinker is a gnome or goblin piloting a mech into combat ala Gazlowe and Mekkatorque. The engineering profession has none of that built into it.
The core fantasy of a Tinker is basically the entire technological side of Azeroth that has been expanded upon over and over but never touched on in a class fantasy, with every single class being purely martial, magical or a mixture of the two.
Engineering has some overlap. But to steal an analogy used earlier in the thread it has overlap in the same sense that Rogues use Poisons and Alchemists make weapon oils which have similar functionality.
Piloting a mech is one part of being a Tinker (and I’d like that to be a relevant spec if Tinkers ever became a spec, and that particularly is not a part that Engineering has an overlap.
But personally speaking if that was the ONLY relevant part of a Tinker, I’d be very disappointed since the class has so much more potential than that.
I want a Tinker spec that hops in a mech and goes toe-to-toe with enemies.
I want a Tinker spec that utilizes a whole bunch of deadly gadgets as a ranged DPS in a way that Hunters don’t. Give it bombs, traps, lasers, summon robots to help, the whole ordeal.
I want a Tinker spec that heals without relying on a higher power. Use some of the whackier things here, like a bandage gun to heal from range, force fields to act as shields, throw healing pots at allies as an AoE heal.
The class has a ton of potential and some of it has overlap with Engineering. But not enough that the class itself is anywhere near redundant, especially since Engineering largely exists for a Wormhole, AH and goggles each expansion and not a whole lot else.
That’s all fine and dandy, but the core fantasy of the class IS mech piloting. Everything else you mentioned are side attributes. The ultimate Tinker abilities in both WC3 and HotS were mech-based, and that is the basis of the concept.
