[ERA] Grobbulus Alliance & Horde Need YOU

Look, I’m short on my usual creativity today, so I’ll get straight to the point.

Both guilds on the Alliance and Horde need a few more raiders on Grobbulus Classic Era!

The alliance guild, Legacy, has spent from 2021 to 2024 building our roster up, and working our way from 16 man MC clears to 25 person BWL clears, to chipping away at AQ40 with 30 and finally clearing all of Naxx as of March 2024 with our first KT kill. We have never had a full 40 person roster, and continue to need more folks on our side as we continue to enjoy our forever vanilla wow home.

The horde guild, Requiem, is also in need of foul creatures of the horde. They are working on BWL progression today and have impressively bolstered their numbers in recent months.

Grobbulus on Era is what I lovingly call a microserver. Long gone are the days of massive populations on Grobb, we have just two guilds here today. We are a mix of hold outs who never moved away to Whitemane, and new heroes who have started a new or migrated over in search for smaller, community focused, casual yet accomplished raid environments.

I send this message out in hopes of reaching like minded vanilla wow enthusiasts searching for a new home, or even brand new players intimated by the hyper optimized and soulless realms that may seem like their only option.

Legacy (A) raids M/F from 7-10pm PT. You can find our discord here: https://discord.gg/Ux5m9wPYe3

Requiem (H) raids F/Sa from 7-10pm PT. You can find their discord here: https://discord.gg/U4wMGSa88X

We hope to see you in battle soon,

Jarl

I’ve got you… or more specifically, ChatGPT has you. I don’t think you need to know the context I gave it (>.<), but I asked it to generate a post in your style and this is what it spat out…

Not too bad…. But this is how I know these ain’t Jarl’s words!

A good reminder, I better be getting some fine mead for Saph and KT tonight!

I thought you might pick up on that. It just goes to show you… Skynet is not yet ready to take over.

I noticed just one other person on that server… very sad.

Quite the opposite! We enjoy the micro server vibes. Plenty of other options if you’re looking for lots of players online at all times (consumes, dungeons, community, etc)

Not many (any others?) that are clearing Naxx with a single guild per faction, that has to rely entirely on itself for anything that exists.

I know it sounds crazy when the natural inclination is to play with the most people as possible, but you really only need one guild, and it’s been the most fun I’ve ever had in WoW playing on a “dead sever”.

So then… what does the Role Play Guild need for running dungeons?

Whatever you enjoy playing, come join the fun <3

Bumpin — if you’re looking for a fun, casual, yet accomplished raid environment for Era and can make raids M/F 7-10pm PT (relaxed attendance policy, no commitment needed!) come join us on Grobbulus!

Still looking? Coming back and looking for a place I can start fresh and raid since I never got to do it back in 2004 or 2019. Any classes/specs in high demand?

We are always looking for new friends  classes in demand is always shifting, so we always say play whatever class makes you happiest and stick around!

Looking to make a Druid and learn to heal, whens the best time to reach out for a Ginv?

So how are things on Grobbulus?

I’m recently returning to the game after 17years out. Have been playing for a couple of months over on the EU servers with a Classic Project going on there but my gametime and timezone dont really match with raiding. I live in Queensland Australia and my main gametime is midweek mornings to early afternoon here on Oz which translates to approx 1700-2200 PET.

So Im looking for an active RP-PvP Guild with active BG groups and with some possibility of raids.

I have no preference as to faction although I have predominantly played NElf but dont mind the idea of going either Nelf Rogue or Forsaken Rogue.

Any recommendations on guilds etc?
Whats the genuine atmosphere like on Grobbulus? Is there any WorldPvP at all?

Hi there! Happy to help answer these questions.

First off, the server is two guilds total. One per faction. There’s maybe 75-100 active players across the entire realm. It’s truly a micro server. We all love it that way though… both guilds are very active, raid twice a week, organize world PvP or wargames BG events from time to time, and have a friendly yet bitter rivalry (some would say it’s not friendly… horde love to kill alliance and alliance mostly doesn’t love PvP here).

Outside of the guild on each faction, the server is dead. I hate saying it’s a dead server because it’s actually the most fun I’ve had in WoW and it’s a really unique experience. We run all content still and it still feels very lively, but it’s more like an Online RPG than an MMO if that makes sense. No AH but we gather mats ourselves and barter and trade within the guild.

BGs are connected across all realms so no issues there.

Raid times are critical though, for your own sake. We don’t have a strict attendance policy, but you also won’t find a backup or alternate raid slot if you miss it. So being able to make raids from 7pm Pacific Time to 10pm Pacific Time, Monday & Friday. Again, that’s just for your own sake! We have people who raid periodically with us, only once a week, leave early, etc.

The atmosphere here is what does it for me. It’s a bunch of true gamers… not people chasing fads and meta stuff or swiping for gear. It’s people who just love vanilla wow and want to play in a more authentic way. It’s like a sleepy small town versus the big city life. Everyone knows eachother love them or hate them. Things happen at a MUCH slower pace. Things aren’t on demand. You have to change the timescale and zoom out a bit.

But that being said, I love the community here, I love the slow pace, it feels comfy and cozy and much more authentic (despite the lack of people) than any other time I’ve played vanilla wow. It’s the closest I’ve ever felt to that feeling from 2004-2006 when I first played it.

I see you posted the discord servers for both H & A, is it just one big community on just different factions?

Sort of! It’s two distinct guilds who aren’t actually related. We both decided to make Grobbulus our home, and so in that sense it is one big community. There’s people who play on both guilds too. But guild leadership is distinct to the guild itself and aren’t related in that sense.

But because we’re so small, it certainly is one big Grobbulus community, even if our guilds have a rivalry going on

It’s a great time to be leveling, as our guild (on ally side) is starting up a bunch of alts from scratch this week. So you would have a couple dozen of us playing these new toons over the course of the next few months
