Well that’s on the people who did the corrupting and not the idea behind it, considering this idea as well the basic concept of freedom existed long before USA was a thing.
I mean look at it this way, if we take away the guns, the criminals would just switch to something else. Knives, blunt objects, unarmed combat, explosives, ramming their car on the sidewalk. To me, just looking at the guns and trying to restrict it, only solves one part of the problem but doesn’t the rest of the problem, or may even exacerbate other problems even.
That’s not to say i want them to be sold or given for free willy nilly. There should be checks and balances if somebody sell them or uses them.
Mmmmmmm… “a bit less freedom” is not a good way to word it.
I mean you can bring order to chaos without stripping away even a tiny bit of freedom.
I do agree that the extreme capitalistic nature that is predominant with our freedom is a problem a lot of the times and should be a bit more balanced here.

And they shouldn’t arm the teachers. They should give schools security guards.
Again, what works in Korea or Japan, or so on, will possibly not work in USA. The USA isn’t like other countries.
