Pride month is coming soon. In-game ideas and suggestions

  1. In the thread, click on the avatar of the offending player, then highlight their name with the mouse and copy it.
  2. Now click your own small avatar at top right of the page, click the rightmost icon again at top right, click Preferences, in the new page click Users.
  3. At the right you see the “Ignored” section. Click Add, click Select, paste the name you copied in phase 1, choose a timeframe (recommended “Forever”), click Ignore, click Shave Changes. When you have done it a couple of times it’s a breeze.
  4. Drink a glass of wine, or whatever you prefer, to celebrate. You deserve it.

Yes, we ignore them equally

So you’re proposing no one ever get together or make connections and network because poverty exists?

Zan’s player sweats and hides his fraternity pin, and looks around. I feel singled out.

Their going to release the Diversity Tool for industry adaptation on pride month. It’s Blizzard’s ultimate gift to the LGBTQ community.

i don’t think rich ppl hang with poor ppl very often anyways - for various reasons. i’d feel bad if a rich friend had to pay for me everytime we do one of their rich-ppl activities

weird power dynamic would inevitably settle.

The fact that IRL gay pride parades have been co-opted by evil capitalists is exactly why we need to start having them in WoW instead of meatspace!

Shark week, shark week, shark week!

Poverty does reduce the impact we can have when wanting or needing change. It also reduces the time and opportunities we have to make connections.

As poverty is a man made issue, the conspiracy theory that our governing body has made a conscious effort to keep the majority poor since people stood up during Vietnam seem legit.

Nothing like the stress of living pay check to pay check to keep people from making a fuss. Down side is starting to show more over the last couple decades. The amount of mental health issues that have led to a large list of crimes including domestic terrorism is getting worse it seems. Yes, I just put domestic terrorism and poverty together. I know people want to think it’s just evil, but it’s nurtured through the conditions we live in.

Um…nobody cares about diversity or inclusion. What everyone wants is a good game with fun content with good story and no identical politics.

Wrong.

What YOU want. WoW is already a fun game. WoW can afford to have more inclusion and diversity. One is not exclusive to the other.

Well, that escalated quickly to the point of absurdity.

Who said people couldn’t network? But what about Budweiser suddenly selling beer in rainbow-festooned bottles means that networking is happening?

Seriously. There is this awful sentiment in the LGBTQ+ community that all gay people are invested in Pride; the truth is, we’re not. Pride and its (repeatedly revised) history are a distraction.

You need to dig into the history and historical revisionism around Pride then ask yourself, “Why is there no clear picture of what happened at the Stonewall?” Start there and keep digging but be ready to get dirty beyond belief—it’s a pit.

That’s fine, but go make your own thread. Don’t derail my thread because you feel other events are more important, which they aren’t. I tire of these phobic comments. Please stop.

Someone requesting another event in a thread suggesting events is not “phobic”.

Could you please stop using that word completely out of context? Thanks!

Parents aren’t happy about it. Since remote learning from pandemic, parents are seeing what the teacher are teaching their kids and find it inappropriate. Its on going battle ever since and it seem it getting worse But its not just schools that we’re seeing it, we’re seeing in tv shows and movies. When they added those elements into those shows, people tune out. Sadly Hollywood doesn’t seem to care what audiences think.

If Blizzard wants to continue to ignoring the problem within their game and focus on diversity equity and inclusion, they too will end up losing money. Audiences want escapism from the real world and right now, they’re not getting that.

You’re preaching to the choir. I’m below the poverty line. That doesn’t mean I can not interact with fellow local LGBT+ people.

Pride month can suck it! Do your thing-be happy find love-I’m happy for you but I’m not celebrating you having sex

Why does everything have to be about what happens in the bedroom with you and your ilk? Pride is about celebrating the history and rights gained over the years for the lgbt+ community. Its pride in the face of discrimination.

Look, all I want is a rainbow colored cloak. Maybe an option to make guild tabards rainbow would be nice, but a rainbow cloak is enough for now.
