1.12 AV is a huge, huge mistake

there’s a reason the original AV was nerfed in the first place, during vanilla.

Correlation doesn’t mean causation…it wasn’t because no one played it.

They nerfed everything, 5 mans, raids, classes,etc…for many different reasons…

I’m still holding out hope they’ll do the right thing and not the easy thing but this isn’t the Blizz of old so I have my reservations. I know the live team and the people at the top aren’t really fans of this project(don’t want to invest time/money) and my bet is most of them hope it fails not only for their own narcissism but for their jobs as well.

The problem is, its not going to matter, Classic is going to be a hit and they’ll have to deal with the fall out.

Yea I don’t remember AV games ever going like that but memory is a weird thing.

I’m gonna hope that this is just rumor but I’ve always suspected this was the case. It seems like the play for the WoW team is to somehow try to parley Classic into a revitalization of retail. Retail is their future after all.

I really don’t see how that could possibly happen though. Vanilla was such a good game it doesn’t seem like anyone could possibly prefer BfA.

I think they’ve added back all the Commanders now. It’s going to be kinda sad if Modern AV eventually has a full return of the complete cast of NPCs and Classic AV does not.

This is a subject that has been asked about several times recently , and we want to clarify some of the details surrounding it. Like many aspects of the game, Alterac Valley was tuned and adjusted in different ways from patch to patch in 2005-2006.

First and foremost, we’re planning to use the 1.12 version of Alterac Valley. For many parts of the game like this, we’re picking an original WoW patch that gives us the most clarity for WoW: Classic, and 1.12 is that patch.

Within what, a couple of weeks? They made the AV announcement AND ran a test day, months ago.
