But youre not telekinetically making the boulder fall, thats gravity (assuming i understand this example correctly).
Heck, by your current usage, literally everything we do is telekinesis because our minds control our bodies, and our bodies move things and do stuff.
So wind is also telekinesis then? Its invisible and it moves things too.
No. He throws it physically with his hand, and a point is made several times that it is significantly less useful without a teek to retrieve or direct it because then youve chucked your weapon behind enemy lines.
That’s correct. But you still caused it to move because of cause & effect.
I’m just trying to explain the broad definition of the term here. If you saw someone make a garbage can float on the street with anti-gravity, you would not be completely wrong in saying “holy crap, that guy is telekinetic”.
The definition, again:
Telekinesis - the production of motion in objects (as by a spiritualistic medium) without contact or other physical means
I’ve bolded the important part. A supernatural system of magic normally goes hand in hand with telekinesis (psionics, the force, etc). I’d also argue that the brain and your entire body are completely physical and there’s nothing spiritualistic about your brain telling your body to push a rock.
Why are you being so ridiculous about this? Was the wind moved by someone’s mental powers? No? Then it’s not telekinesis.
My only point was that there was nothing between Artanis’s face/equipment/body as we see him telekinetically shove the zerglings away. Therefore, it’s not a freaking bomb. Nothing is exploding there except what looks like the psi blade sparks being taken along for the ride. Even the light behind him is not exploding, it just changes in intensity.
I so call that out first! I believe that by Gradius’ personal definition even mind control is Telekinesis. All you have to do is taking over permanently cloak Ghost!
Is he? Are you Brother? (I’m so want to call you stupid over this if it’s true.)
You can… that’s why it’s effectively magic…
You’re claiming that you can’t move anything psionically and so you need a physical mean. Then let me ask you this what causes ‘the physical mean’?
Like take the Psionic Bomb for example. You can move the Zealot directly so you make a bomb, but then what causing the bomb? Is there physical means behind it?
Also, why is it okay to use a bomb as a physical mean, but not mind control?
As for Anti-Gravitation part, I know this is going to sound crazy, but hear me out. There is a concept called ‘reaction force’. You see when you’re standing your feet are pushing the earth away. By some miracle, that force will always to just enough to keep you off the ground! It won’t be weaker than your weight nor stronger! Go to a different planet with different gravitational pull and you get the same thing! It’s a miracle! So adjusting or even removing gravity won’t effect anything other than this magical reaction force!
If you used anti-gravity, this magical reaction force won’t make you fly off the earth, it just disappears!
I’m a Physicist. Of course, you can’t believe it. Our fields are drastically different. It’s about logic and consistency. Our point and arguments are shot down by ‘flimsy reason’ all the time. While referencing is easy tedious job that we pawn off to our undergrad (Really, it’s good practice for them).
Wait, so mind control can be counted as Telekinesis according to your perso… I mean dictionary definition?
Thanks, I only vaguely remember that post. I also vaguely remember that Brother Bifrost called all these indirect Telekinesis. And then the Emperor made a good case fore why Anti-Gravity is not Telekinesis. I wonder if our holy Brother still agree with you or if that never happened to begin with, and you just misunderstood his word.
Ah, my follow goldfish. Here you go,
You’re welcome.
No, that’s not how IQ works, but knowing you that’s probably you person… I mean dictionary definition of IQ.
