Paid for game some time ago, want to play 100% offline single player, game wants to login to blizzard service - CAN’T PLAY AT ALL! Nice Job Blizzard @#$^&
Hey all, just a little more to add, I too am having this issue, my buddy who was in the same room was able to login just fine, we swapped computers, he was able to login on mine, and i was not able to login on his on US servers, we ended up playing on EU servers hoping the issue would be fixed soon
Anyone from Blizzard looking into this?
its Sunday, I’m guessing nobody gives a damn.
I am having the same issue. USA, Europe servers, doesn’t matter. Nothing will let me log in to start SC2. I’m able to log in to everything else fine.
no where, cause there is no developers. And to everyone posting,
- this is a server problem on blizzards side.
- REINSTALLING THE GAME WILL NOT FIX IT, WE DID NOT CAUSE THE PROBLEM ON OUR END. THIS IS A BLIZZARD PROBLEM.
- YALL NEED TO CHILL AND WAIT FOR THEM TO FIX THE SERVERS.
Why they need to make the game authenticated every time? Didn’t they verify it when you purchased it? I don’t even play on battle net, just want to have fun for campaign with my kids.
game authentication is you loggin into your account, thats all it is. every game has this, this aint nothing new to the gaming world.
Gaming as service for offline single player games should be punishable by death. Change my mind.
waited 17 hours, went to sleep, still cant play the game. why am i not allowed to play the game i paid for, blizzard?
because blizzard needs to fix the api on the na servers, chill bro there working on it.
Same problem here. How useless is Blizzard support that two days without being able to log in and they still didn’t even notice.
I have the same issue. Temporary service outage, no regions work. Have tried re-installing, resetting in-game options, switch to beta launcher, reset pc, turned off OneDrive (old authentication issue), no PTR files, etc.
Sucks.
Currently there are no posts about it. It just started over this weekend, and I reported it to Bliz yesterday. I can’t say whether or not they will make a post about it, but they should know there’s a problem. Hopefully they will be taking a look and resolving it soon.
At this point it appears to be a back end problem. If so, there’s nothing the players can do themselves.
Why wouldn’t they? It just started this weekend. It’s not as if it’s been left broken for weeks or months. Several months ago, Bliz fixed a fairly serious exploit, so it’s not like they are completely ignoring SC2’s bigger problems.
I reported it to Bliz yesterday.
DRM. It’s a necessary evil in modern video gaming, especially ones that are online.
No one here knows if Bliz has noticed or not. As for resolving it, no one here knows what’s involved in fixing it thus how long it should take. Also keep in mind that SC2 is retired. It has a fairly low priority compared to the other active, flagship games.
Folks,
The moral of the story is that it just started very recently and I’ve reported it to Bliz. Give them time to investigate and resolve it.
Hey leviathan, Sc2Pusle stated on twitter that bliz broke the api and that they were working on it. this was yesterday sometime dont know if that helps you out or not, i forgot about it till i checked my twit today.
Thanks. I just want them to know we cannot log in and there is no ticket system. Thanks for noticing and for me all servers are offline and I just wanted to replay the campaign.
Actually, that is helpful. Thanks!
Got a response to my ticket - it was just a generic “restart your computer / make sure you are connected to the internet” copy and paste
This is very sad. I actually was quite excited to try SC2 again this weekend (especially with the extra hour over the weekend) but something about this happening the literal day I get the drive to come back really broke me in a weird way.
I suppose I’m less overall irritated at the fact the game isn’t functioning properly, but that the game doesn’t have the backend support it needs for when things like this happen. I haven’t played this game in a long, long time and the idea that there’s just a bunch of turned off computers at an office that was once always populated with friendly and chatty GMs willing to talk to you in real time just depresses me.
Yeah, that’s all support can do.
Support aren’t coders or engineers, so they can’t fix something like this. Just to cover the bases, they will have people try basic troubleshooting stuff.
It does (at least has so far).
It’s more of an issue of time. This issue just started. There needs to be time to investigate and resolve it.
