Cannot connect to servers

I have been trying for days now to connect since New Years and I can’t even launch SC2. After logging in it says that they are down for maintenance. “Battle.net is down for maintenance. Please try again later.” There is no maintenance… at least nothing posted by blizzard for STARCRAFT. Any Ideas? I want to finish Nova…

Are you getting a Global timeout error? There has been server issues for the past week.

Try to change servers to see if that changes anything, or get on, on different times of the day.

I can’t even get on to receive a global timeout error. I have tried the Europe and Asia servers as well. Same error. “Battle.net is down for maintenance. Please try again later.” I click play. The launcher opens for me to sign in and that is as far as it goes. I can’t get past sign in due to the error I get. EDIT: Just tried and it changed this time. New message “We’ll be back soon!
The Blizzard family of websites is currently undergoing maintenance to improve your browsing experience. Thank you for your patience!” I guess they are really down now huh?

Hey Seige,

If you’re still experiencing this error, can you try the steps here?

Let us know how that goes.

And once he solves that, he’ll hit the Global Timeout Error! Assuming there is no additional update?

Jambrix are you trolling? The entire community is having problems now for two weeks, this is not a version mismatch issue. Pay attention ffs.

Drkovorkian,

The error that the OP is getting is not something that is being seen with the game creation issues.

In fact, as they state twice, their issue is something that’s happening at login. And historically, the OP’s specific error is often associated with version mismatches due to interfering PTR files, which makes the SFA’s suggestion an appropriate first step.

Could you kindly take a moment and address/alleviate our concerns about the future of SC2? This is getting out of hand.

I can’t, as I’m not privy to what goes on internally. However, 1) Bliz has stated that the game creation issues are under investigation, and 2) with the holidays and the pandemic, things are going move far slower than normal.

Great, sorry for some reason I was kind of annoyed with Blizzard already… now fix your servers.

If someone at Blizzard told us what the problem is, that would be helpful. Unless you don’t know what the problem is yet? Even if you just state that, it would be better than nothing. The game has been broken for an very long time now.

Thank you for your response.

Doesn’t it strike you as odd that a 12 day investigation has yielded no response and no solution? We know you guys as well as you know us. We’ve been together for 10 damn years in this game and longer in others. What’s happening now is not ordinary for Starcraft. Many of us are diehard SC fans. Our anxieties and concerns are in place regardless of the holiday/pandemic situation.

We might not deserve your company spending more money on a product past its sell-by-date, but we deserve the damn truth.

Often the reason why is technical and informing the general lay-public of that technical reason doesn’t help the front facing issue (not to mention that many wouldn’t understand).

Not when it’s persited over an overtly announced holiday break in combination with a pandemic. As for a reponse, they have dropped in a few times to state that it’s still being investigated. One good thing is that as of today, at least they’re back to full staff again.

Fingers crossed then. Thank you for taking the time.
