Can we not destroy Ana please?

I think there is a debate about who is more popular in a vacuum, Ana or Mercy. But even if you believe it’s Mercy, you have to admit Ana is still very popular. Kinda like how you can debate which tank is most popular Rein or D.Va. But whoever wins you can agree number two is still really popular.

So at least Genji has solid checks and switches where as Ana only has a couple

Sleep is mainly problem on tanks. The ability was designed with the idea that it would be hard to land and have huge reward, but in practice, it’s super easy to peg tanks with.

I think one of the main issues is actually that it’s a 1.5 second stun if you shoot straight through it. That’s a really long stun, and insult to injury, you can shoot through the first second of it, and then the sleep still kicks in.

I think reducing that to like a .75 second stun would help, most particularly against tanks tbh.

Honestly, this is what I’d do:

-Antinade: Now only prevents 50% healing, now lasts 4 seconds.
-Sleep: “Go to sleep” animation reduced to .7 seconds from 1 second. “Stay asleep” duration increased to 4.75 seconds from 4 seconds. “Wake up” animation reduced to .05 seconds. Total sleep time unchanged at 5.5. seconds. Cooldown reduced by 1 second.

Her anti-nade doesn’t really need to be touch, since it does nothing if your teammates does not act on it.

The part of her kit that is the safest to change, imo, is her sleep dart to make her more of a threat if she gets flank so that it’s a close 1-on-1 duel.

The side affect of replacing her sleep dart is removing more CC from the game, and giving Ana more firepower to fight back instead of relying on teammates to finish off her sleep target.

In all honestly, nothing needs to be change about her kit other than number tweaking.

Can you link me? I’d like to know exactly what they said, if you don’t mind. You understand. That’s pretty vague for me to have to chase down and half the time on the forums people tell you the devs said one thing and then you check it out and it’s like “how is that what you understood from that?” If that’s what they said I do wanna make a note of it.

I don’t know what other people are saying but I can say the problem generally isn’t her dueling tanks so much as imbalancing fights between tanks in such a way that you’re really climbing up hill not having an Ana along.

That’s easy enough, just change all AntiHeals to function like this

Biotic Grenade (AntiHealing Effect)

  • Blocks 100% of healing received on affected enemy players.
  • Blocked healing is stored as “Purple Health”.
  • “Purple Health” does not prevent death.
  • When the AntiHeal effect is over, all “Purple Health” is converted to normal health.

And for Sleep Dart, just shrink that 1.5sec of hard Stun

Sleep Dart

  • Maximum sleep duration unchanged at 5.0 seconds
  • Initial Stun duration (I.e. Falling down animation) reduced from 1.0sec to 0.5sec
  • Wakeup Stun duration reduced from 0.5sec to 0.1sec

I think ana could use a slight rework in OW2 so that her abilities will feel less annoying to tanks and the rework should be done in a way where ana can better protect herself against hypermobile DPS flankers.

People talking about how ana have always been the single most broken hero in the entire game in OW1 though…are just being hyperbolic. Since almost every role has some form of stun and annoying abilities in OW1, not just ana.

In OW2, Ana is the only non-tank who gets a stun though. And… it’s a 5.5 second long one.

Like, they made a rule, and specifically exempted her from it. Purely because she’s popular and they like her.

So you can see why people are annoyed at her for getting special treatment. But she does need something to protect her from flankers–the point was, it could’ve been something that ISN’T the game’s longest stun.

Not really though. Sleep itself won’t do anything to tanks. It’s the sleep followed by the nade that hurts tanks. Tanks have enough hp to survive the initial burst. Sleep alone is only a death sentence for squishy heroes.
