✅ Blizzard can start OWL token drops

Granted what I’m talking about is they could enable OWL token drops on http://MLG.com

Which is a website completely owned and operated by Activision-Blizzard, and currently delivering better quality video streams of OWL tournaments than YouTube…

Isn’t that just an embedded YouTube video?

Nope.

I’d imagine that causing a large amount of people to stop watching the Youtube stream right after Youtube paid Blizzard 100+ million dollars for the rights would be a sound business decision.

I would point out that MLG did have drops enabled during the 2018 season, but not during the 2019 season. I anticipate there will not be any drops on any platform until they can get rewards going for YouTube.

As a reminder there is no timetable for this and I (personally) still expect this to take several weeks to get up and running.

Bandwidth cost a lot. Why not use a service that already have the available bandwith?

Issue is I think they’re trying to focus on Youtube being their main streaming platform, much like Twitch was, in an effort to make the League more “mainstream.” Not to mention it’s most likely part of the contract they signed when swapping over.

It’d be a bit against that if they were to give encouragement to go to a different site.

Sure would be nice if YouTube Gaming had a feature to avoid stuttering.

I’ve been watching the games on a Chromecast, and was really offputing to see the stutter frames on my laptop.

Ended up dragging the Chromecast to my desktop, and comparing streams.

Seems like the 4k Chromecast has an “avoid stutter” feature.
