Who should be reworked (Poll)

Based on my own opinions, Kerrigan needs a rework but that’s an unpopular opinion

There are so many heroes that would need rework to keep up with the power creep we got going. Same goes for risk-reward ratios which are competely messed up these days.

I guess my top 5 would be:
Nova
Butcher
Zuljin
Lunara
Murky

They are all heroes that feel absolutely terrible when stuck in same team with you. Murky either enemy knows to match him and he is worthless whole game or they don’t know how to play. Lunara is outdone by all AA heroes and they don’t need to split the damage to whole team to reach same numbers. ZJ is very easy to deny stacking in lane if team knows how to play. Butch is just denied by everything, even when stacked he is below average hero due to clumsy design. Nova with no wave clear and still no better than average assassin damage has no reason to exist anymore.

Nova. Just why pick her? If you say it’s for the anti-armor and vision, that is pretty unique, so I would like to see that leaned into more in a rework.

Valeera. Awful talent diversity.

Genji. As his kit is right now, he is either going to be useless or op. Rework could change that.

Illidan, for same reasons as Genji.

Artanis. Yes, he has his strengths, but they are not strong enough to offset his weaknesses.

Heroes needing serious attention:

  • Hammer - her kit forces her to root to take advantage of her range. Either a team plays bunchball with her and they steamroll or they don’t and her presence is just free kills, resulting in a loss.
  • Malthael - he’s too dependent on applying Reaper’s Mark which makes him ridiculously easy to kite. He’s exceptionally vulnerable to stun because his survivability relies on Q spam and he has no easy escapes. For the Angel of Death, he’s seriously frustrating to play.
  • Probius - one of the most underplayed heroes who relies nearly entirely on cheese to make his impact felt. Despite being incredibly squishy, his only escape is his Z and it’s entirely negated by DoTs or hypermobile things. Worker Rush should not be interrupted by damage. He was originally designed to be distinct from Gaz, but post Gaz’s rework, Probie needs some more attention.
  • Tyrande - Yes, it’s time to beat this horse again. She’s too dependent on AA, too vulnerable to poke. The owl didn’t need to be gutted. I feel like I have to take a Ritalin to get my APM high enough to stutter, AA, then heal with her properly, then I need luck to land the skillshots on top of that. One of the most frustrating and stressful healers to play and with a very low reward for that high skill cap.
  • KTZ - He is too dependent on his combo. If he does land it, he auto-deletes people and dominates the game. If he doesn’t, he barely contributes anything to the team. This power spike needs to be broadened so he’s more accessible to play and less irritating to play against.

Mechanics needing attention:

  • Non-stop life leech - This is the Butch, Illidan, Thrall, Winblades Varian, Sonya, etc camp. If you have no stun, they simply walk all over your team and dominate. If you do have stun, they struggle to provide utility for their team.
  • Hypermobility - We all know the arguments.
  • Chain CC - It’s simply too powerful and too easy to stack. CC protection, diminishing returns, or something needs to be put into place to offset it. Ever play against a Gaz/Zarya/Jaina combo? Add any tank you want, even one without stun. Once the first stun drops, 3 AOE ults drop and that’s gg.

A bunch of others need minor tweaks and adjustments, but not full reworks.

You’re funny
And wrong

If there was a “problem” with the shield there were ways to fix it that didn’t gut the hero and remove so much of what the people who did enjoy him liked.

Wish Naz gets vile infection removed so your Naz team mates show up to a guaranteed win instead of leaving to kill minions.

My takes not only on who, but how:

Nova - Her Q quest needs a rework. Something like, each 5 consecutive hits on a hero grant X bonus damage permanently. Hitting a non-hero doesn’t reset the quest. But failing a shot resets the current status of the quest. This is, if you have managed to hit 15 heroes in a row, you already have 3 bonuses of damage permanently, you never reset to 0, but if you were at 19 and miss the 20th, then you are pushed back to 15, Hope the idea is clear.
Also her Q needs a pierce, if not by default at least at some point, perhaps the first target gets the full damage and the secondary (and beyond) targets get reduced damage each or something like that. She already has the possibility of AoE with her Q anyways, so another take on how to hit multiples in addition to that one could be nice.

Also her clones need to be controlable (with her E, if multiples clones are active, they all do the same). That or at least there should be a way to give them an instruction when placed (like hold, pursue, run, whatever).

Her Triple-Tap could be 3 charges of a super powerful single shot instead of releasing all 3 shots in a single charge. This way a good Nova would have to know when to shot all 3 consecutively (similar on how it works right now) and when to save a charge. 1 sec between shots CD (which is how it works right now, if I’m not mistaken).

Butch - First, I like his meat quest , so unique and flavourful (no pun intended) so it should remain, But with a twist!!!.. Make it an activable quest!
Every, IDK, 100 meat, Butch can activate to “eat” his accumulated meat and increase his damage (all his damage, not only AA) and attack speed and have reduced CD on all his abilities (he pretty much becomes a berserker of sorts after eating), all of this by whatever proper number or % in bonuses. This effect may last, IDK, 10 secs or whatever. He can accumulate up to X meat (let’s say 300). So if he has 250, he can use it twice (one at a time, not accumulative) and still have 50 on the pocket (maybe some CD between uses?).
IMHO, this would render him so much more interesting and way more useful early in game, as well as be a powerhouse late game if he saves all his meat. Plus, his quest would remain always relevant which is also more fitting!!
Also, don’t make him lose it when he dies (he is gonna lose 100 already when he activates). Currently, that’s his biggest weakness, IMHO, he is so easily reset. I have had many a poor butcher on the opposing team ending up with literal 0 meat, 'cause we simply keep focusing him. Ez matches. So, on the contrary, make Heroes worth 25 (perhaps even more) and minions 3 instead of 1? (IDK, proper analysis needed), so he can activate even more often and be more useful.

On the other hand, his healing should benefit pretty much solely from heroes rather than minions, camps or bosses (as many other heroes, that can’t benefit from any of those, only heroes). So, allow just a tiny bit from those (if any at all), like 15% at best (instead of current 75%).

His Furnace R should leave scorched area dealing damage or whatever other bonus/penality for the opposing team where he passes before it detonates (similar to DW). That would be more interesting and awesome too!.
Lamb to the slaughter should not deal damage at all, though, is already a devastating CC and that should be enough with his new activable quest (and as it should be for any other powerful CC there is, no need for extra damage on top of that).

I was planning on doing all 5… but this is taking too long, so I will stop with these two :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: May come later for the rest.

They are NEXUS originals. They are essentially the same as they used to be, outside the stealth overhaul to all stealth heroes. The NEXUS has changed around them dramatically. They are due for some major rework or retooling.

Every stealth hero except Samuro:

  • Zeratul is the textbook case of “hYpErMoBiLe” – he’s literally the most mobile character in the game. He’s also too dependent on late-game talents in general.
  • Nova feels incredibly lackluster right now. She only has one role – bursting down single-targets – but there are several heroes that are comparable at that job as it is and fill other roles.
  • Valeera basically only has 3 buttons: D, E, and QQQQQ, in that order. She has too few talents and is entirely too reliant on stealth to be good at anything else.

Kerrigan, because she’s too reliant on her highly-predictable combo.

Illidan, because he’s extremely feast or famine depending almost entirely on the team comps.

Hammer, because I want to play a dang Siege Tank, not this inbred, dinky-:peach: Siege Tank/Hellion hybrid.

Butcher
then
Nova

I want them to be useful and not to be troll picks in ranked. But Butcher really needs to be reworked

How do we keep the siege tank fantasy without busting her or making her somehow even more boring?
Stronger single target aa damage in tank form, minimum range requirement in siege form, strong/bigger splash to make up for it?
Talents to make tank form better or QoL improvements for transforming constantly during a fight?

I don’t like a lot of her current AA talents. They’re geared toward her being able to sit there and attack completely uncontested, and if she’s capable of doing that all the time then you’re probably going to win anyways and don’t need those talents.
Her aa 20 seems really nice but it’s never been anything that winmore for me because it does nothing to keep you alive through focus since you’re painting a big ‘SKILLSHOTS HERE’ sign on the ground each time you siege up or they just actively avoid dealing with you and continue to poke until they see a favorable opening.

Alright, crazy idea but what if we made her really tanky and toned down the damage but made her more of a support by manipulating the battlefield with artillery CC like slowing fire or making craters to block pathing?
What if we just made her a ranged tank? :eyes:

I mentioned the general direction I think they should take Hammer in in this thread, and I posted a link to detailed HeroesProfile rework concept I made in this other thread.

That is a very neat idea, but unfortunately I don’t think it’d work out very well in-game. Maybe a bit of that could fit into a possible future rework, though.
