[HC] Magatha, Elder Crone

Magatha is the most memorable female tauren from the Warcraft series, and she has had an active role throughout the start of World of Warcraft. Her most notable event was when she conquered Thunder Bluff and instrumented Cairne’s death. She is a powerful Shaman with strong ties to earth magic, and I wanted to really bring that out in her design.

In HotS, Magatha is a buff-centric support that can provide her team with a solid boost to their damage and survivability. When needed, she can call upon an Earth Elemental to provide her with some extra damage, and she can use her buffs on her elemental to greatly augment her damage and disruption.

Increases your movement speed by 30% while mounted.

Explanation: There is no need for a special mount.

Elemental Call
Trait (60 sec Cooldown)
Magatha targets an area and summons an Earth Elemental totem at the area with 25 (+4% per level) health that summons an Earth Elemental for 30 seconds. While active, the Earth Elemental moves along with Magatha, but must stay within 11 range of the totem. The Earth Elemental has 850 (+4% per level) health, and deals 44 (+4% per level) damage with every basic attack. If the totem dies, the Earth Elemental is also killed. Magatha’s abilities interact with her Earth Elemental.

Explanation: Elemental Call gives Magatha a powerful summon that can soak damage for her team and deal moderate damage over its lengthy duration. Magatha can also cast her buffs on it, transforming her from a passive buff-centric support to a high disruption, high damage character. The Elemental has massive heath, but the fact it is anchored to a very low health totem offers counterplay to the enemy team.

Rumble
Q (6 sec Cooldown)
Magatha causes a 2 unit radius area to rumble for .75 seconds before erupting, dealing 260 (+4% per level) damage to all enemies hit and interrupting channeled abilities. If an Earth Elemental is active, it will instead rapidly charge to the area and then smash a 4 unit radius area, dealing 300 (+4% per level) damage and knocking up enemies hit for .6 seconds.

Explanation: Rumble is Magatha’s main damage tool, able to spam it frequently. It has some minor utility on its own, able to interrupt channels, but it also can serve as a mobility move for your Elemental and some solid disruption when you have an Elemental active.

Rockbiter
W (12 sec Cooldown)
Magatha enchants an allied hero, causing each of their basic attacks to deal an additional 44 (+4% per level) damage. This has a .5 second internal cooldown between each damage application. If used on her Earth Elemental, it will radiate damage, dealing 22 (+4% per level) damage every second in a 3 unit radius around it. In addition, nearby enemies are slowed by 20%. The effects last 5 seconds.

Explanation: Rockbiter gives Magatha some more damage, and allows her to buff up her attack damage carries to quickly deal large bonus damage. The more attack speed, the better Rockbiter is, though it is capped for characters like Tracer and Tychus. With her Elemental, Rockbiter offers some more disruption and damage.

Earth Shield
E (10 sec Cooldown)
Magatha shields an allied hero for 5 seconds. The shield has three charges, and every time the allied hero is damaged, they are instantly healed by 140 (+4% per level). If used on the Earth Elemental, it will gains a 300 (+4% per level) shield and root all enemies with 3 range for 1 second.

Explanation: Earth Shield is an iconic restoration shaman ability, and works to give Magatha some powerful situational healing. She cannot cast this out of combat, but it can be used to offer an ally some solid over time healing to an ally who is in the front lines.

Crater
Heroic #1 (90 sec Cooldown)
Magatha targets an area within 9 range and causes a 1 unit radius rock wall to rupture at that area that hesitates for .5 seconds then quickly expands outwards to eventually reach a 7 unit radius (over 1.25 seconds). All enemies hit are knocked back with the expansion. This passes through terrain, and knocks enemies through terrain as well.

Explanation: While Crater is very similar to Emerald Winds in many ways, it differs in a number of ways as well. Besides the fact it is not self-cast, it also is very quick. The main tool is to push all enemies out of a target area, rather than peel for your team explicitly. It also pushes enemies through walls, being unable to effectively keep them stunned while your team kills them.

Earthmother’s Watch
Heroic #2 (75 sec Cooldown)
Magatha calls upon the healing energies of the earth at a target location, granting all allies in a 4 unit radius area 15 armor and healing them by 10 (+4% per level) healing every .25 seconds for 5 seconds. Allies within the area receive 35% increased healing from all sources while within the area.

Explanation: As opposed to Crater, Earthmother’s Watch offers Magatha some powerful additional healing and survivability. This can assist her allies with healing to keep them up, and can also make her a valuable member of a double support team, as she can take on the role of a secondary support with more aggressive talents.

Tier 1

• Dark Hunger: If Rumble hits at least 1 enemy Hero, it’s cooldown is reduced by 3 seconds.
• Diamond Crust: Earth Shield grants the ally 25 armor while its effects persist.
• Rugged Earth: Rumble slows enemies hit by 50% for 1 second.

Tier 2

• Therazane’s Strength: When Rockbiter is cast on an Earth Elemental, the pulsating damage is increased by 50%. If Rockbiter is cast on Magatha, her next Rumble consumes it to deal 250 (+4% per level) additional damage.
• World’s Growth: If Rumble hits an enemy Hero, it creates an area of healing in that area for 2 seconds. After 2 seconds, any ally in the area is healed for the damage that Rumble dealt.
• Earthen Endurance: While an ally is affected by Earth Shield, a stack is consumed when the enemy is slowed, stunned, feared, or rooted, reducing its duration by 70%. This does not heal the ally.

Tier 3

• Unstable Ground: [QUEST!] Hit multiple enemy heroes with a single cast of Rupture. [Reward] If two heroes were hit, increase the radius by 5%. If 3 heroes were hit, increase radius by 5%. If 4 heroes were hit, increase radius by 5%. If 5 heroes were hit, increase radius by 5%. Upon hitting a higher amount, instantly complete all lower rewards.
• Firestone: Every other cast of Rockbiter is instead replaced with Firestone, which causes that allies’ spells to deal 110 (+4% per level) bonus damage.
• Stoneskin: Rockbiter grants the ally a 150 (+4% per level) health shield for 3 seconds.

Tier 4

• Crater: Magatha targets an area within 9 range and causes a 1 unit radius rock wall to rupture at that area that hesitates for .5 seconds then quickly expands outwards to eventually reach a 7 unit radius (over 1.25 seconds). All enemies hit are knocked back with the expansion. This passes through terrain, and knocks enemies through terrain as well.
• Earthmother’s Watch: Magatha calls upon the healing energies of the earth at a target location, granting all allies in a 4 unit radius area 15 armor and healing them by 10 (+4% per level) healing every .25 seconds for 5 seconds. Allies within the area receive 35% increased healing from all sources while within the area.

Tier 5

• Tremor Totem: Magatha calls forth a totem at a target location within 6 range which lasts for 6 seconds, and has 80 (+4% per level) health. Every 2 seconds after cast, it tremors in a 3 unit radius area, freeing all allied heroes in the area from stun, fear, root, and slow effects.
• Stoneclaw Totem: Magatha calls forth a totem at a target location within 6 range which lasts for 6 seconds, and has 160 (+4% per level) health. Every 2 seconds after cast, it taunts all enemies within a 3 unit radius for 1 second.
• Stoneskin Totem: Magatha calls forth a totem at a target location within 6 range which lasts for 6 seconds, and has 80 (+4% per level) health. It grants all allied heroes within a 3 unit radius 40 armor.

Tier 6

• Deathwing’s Wrath: When Magatha deals spell damage to an enemy Hero, her spell power is increased by 4% for 10 seconds. Upon reaching 40%, her next spell has a 50% reduced cooldown and deals 100% increased damage or healing.
• Earthliving Husk: Earth Shield now lasts for 10 seconds, and can heal an ally up to 9 times. However, each heal heals by 50% less. Earth Shield cannot stack on an ally, but instead adds to current charges (up to 15) and refreshes duration.
• Twilight Shroud: Earth Shield can be cast on an enemy Hero, granting them three charges of Frail (which increases the duration of the next 3 sources of CC they recieve by 50%), and causes the next three sources of damage they take be dealt an additional 100 (+4% per level) damage.

Tier 7

• Difficult Terrain: Crater leaves rugged terrain under its expansion area which lasts for 3 seconds. This terrain slows enemies on it by 25%, and prevents enemies from using mobility abilities.
• Blessing of Deepholm: Earthmother’s Watch has a 100% increased radius, and grants all allies in the area a 200 (+4% per level) shield upon cast, which lasts until the ally leaves the radius.
• Eventide Venom: Rockbiter Weapon causes that ally’s basic attacks to slow hit enemies’ movement and attack speeds by 15% for 1.5 seconds, which can stack up to 4 times. Upon reaching 4 stacks on an enemy, they are stunned for 1 second, and that enemy becomes immune to Eventide Venom for 5 seconds.
• Primordial Elemental: Magatha’s Elemental Call now summons a Primordial Elemental. The Primordial Elemental gains a 50% increased shield from Earth Shield, and it’s cooldown is decreased by 25% when targeting the Primordial Elemental. In addition, the Elemental can now move 15 units away from its totem, and has a 15 second reduced cooldown.
