Forum mvps , are we worthy enough

Im a terrible example of a mvp.

A. MVPs promote constructive posting wherever they can. They contribute to the community and encourage polite discussion throughout the forums. When you see an MVP post, listen to what they have to say—they were also chosen for their knowledge of the game.

^ there are more people to be worthy of this list.
Minky harbinger kyx myself hoku to name a few.
(Many more but i am terrible with names)

Are we worthy enough. Can we still get one if we are nice enough?

I saw if you send something to Mvps@blizzard.com you can suggest someone. No idea how it works. Think with the full bnet tag

To be really fair, I don’t think I am worth it considering my aggressiveness in some posts.

Most of people that are MVPs on Blizzard forums are complete shills and will refrain from contributing through critical thinking because they are nothing more than attention seekers and want to maintain their status on the forums.

The majority of their posts consists of defending terrible decisions head over heel whenever possible and copy pasting solutions from different sources that the few lazy individuals struggling with common problems are unable to find themselves.

Basically you end up performing a job for no compensation. They used to offer full time positions for such people in the past.

IIRC there’s this one person I recall seeing on the Diablo forums who seems to not be biased, but the shill part is pretty inevitable to not only titles in Blizzard, but anywhere else, people will by any means assume you are shilling for bad practice just because you don’t fit their narrative in most cases.

I don’t need some title to post, there are even better deserving people for that who post to help people in:

I agree. Not to insult WoW and Hearthstone forum MVP’s but I prefer all users on this forum to green posters.

Green posters in general are ultimate suckups who are afraid to post anything but Disneyfied posts glorifying the company. Where is the value in input like that, where you already know from a glance they are a bot that attacks anyone who criticizes the company.

I agree there are good users there picking up blizz’s slack and helping people without getting anything in return. That is helpfulness.

MVPs are volunteers, that’s the whole point of it, you don’t get anything out of it, hence the title.

Besides, to add on shilling, this is normal human behavior when people are granted such title (despite being as meaningful as a paper written on it “I am cool”), its like getting moderation privileges to some hots server (#Self-Brag), people behavior changes, a lot, this is because you expect to be more “”“professional”"" with said title.

So what you end up is slight shilling, slight behavior change of yourself so when giving out criticism you accidentally act like an apologist and probably something else I forgot while writing this.

No Hoku mentioned? Or CaiusCane (Sorry if I misspell your name)?

I have a strong feeling that Chomsky’s “Manufacturing Consent” would have a great deal of relevance on the picking of some forum MVP’s.

I vote for myself. Should be decent

I vote against you, thought luck guy. :grinning:

I aspire to be a forum MVP someday. You guys are all so helpful to me when I have questions.

On hearthstone forums I’ve seen MVPs get into some pretty heated arguments. I don’t think you have to be a complete Mary Sue to get it

Imo you can be just yourself. Maybe a bit less swearing but for the price of green letters but not everyone needs to be prime positive guy. You can also be knowledge guy (because everyone loves wiseghhs kjsy look at the tv show the smurfs)

Ps. I did mention hoku but stop , I did said I just wrote a few. Stop making it feel you guys insecure.

I won’t take the title. It’ll stifle my creativity. TL3 is good enough for me, thanks to the community.

I dunno if I comprehend if the official Forum MVP program, as described.

I have my personal ones, though…

Hoku very consistently makes posts that are 1. Friendly 2. Insightful and 3. Constructive. Most importantly, Hoku’s funny. It makes me think of that old phrase “all that and a bag of chips.” Hoku’s a unifying force of badass positivity. I usually hear 80’s rock start to play when I read her posts.
(Song I was listening to while writing this: Turn up the Radio by Autograph)
Hoku will even join me on my Versus AI games every now and then. Imagine that! Interacting on a more personal level with your fellow forumers!

I almost never weigh in with my opinion on game balance here on the forums, but if I did, I’d probably have similar opinions to MurlocAggroB. Murloc has a tendency to come out of nowhere with a post of my exact word-for-word thoughts on stuff. Maybe a bit stronger than I’d feel about it, but still, that Murky avatar’s on the same wavelength as me. Have my likes, little guy.

I also wanna mention Melke here. Melke might be polarizing on their opinions of stuff, but I like that Melke seems to recognize when they acted poorly. It’s…a breath of fresh air. Melke doesn’t necessarily apologize for their behavior or attitude, but it’s…rare…to see someone openly admit they could’ve done better. In the “Wild Panda AMA” thread, Melke told me, in sum, that they’re flawed but always trying to improve. I guess I might be a sucker for character development, so here I am. I’m rooting for you, Melke.

SkullyPirate, of course, deserves mention from me. I just like SkullyPirate’s general chill posting attitude. I wish everyone here was more like Skully. Everybody just chill out, be more casual, laugh more…Hopefully get along more. Yeah, it’s corny as hell, but hey, it’s a forum about a video game at the end of day.

Lastly, I will mention HailFall. No, I don’t often agree with what Hail has to say…and yes, there are times when I feel like Hail’s phrasing could be…I dunno…less provocative? But here’s the thing: everyone out there’s got a their own personality, their own unique views on stuff, and their own writing style.
What I mentioned about character development earlier strongly applies here. HailFall’s become a very articulate poster over time who has shown they are willing to do research to back up their opinion, and show it. To me, HailFall is someone who is willing to put in effort to make the debate worthwhile. I think that deserves to be highlighted.
And hey, the beauty of this forum is being able to rationalize your position on something and have a better conversation for it, not everyone agreeing on the same things, right?

Anyway, those are the forumers who stand out to me. You guys are my MVPs. Good job out there.

SamiSha, don’t be pessimistic. I believe in you and I know that you have the potential to be an MVP, I don’t know you but I know that you are a good person and you will always have my admiration.
