We need to be loud about runestones

It’s not just cosmetics, it’s also buying anything above one pack at a time you need runestones. And the ‘value packs’ are now priced in such a way you have to buy more runestones than you need and/or make multiple transactions to add up to exactly what you need. It isn’t about ‘paying more or less’ it’s about a implementing a NEW system DESIGNED to make you pay more when there was a functional monetization system that in general the community accepted.

uh
we can buy more than 1 pack with gold

in fortnite you can earn the cost of the battle pass through-out the season once u bought the BP. im not entirely sure you can get vbucks without purchasing it first though. but you have the option to either never vbucks on the skins that are available in the shops so you have enough for the next season, or dump more money and just buy the next battlepass. this system is a lot better than what they have going on. but all their games are going down the drain so they’re trying to squeeze what ever little money they can get from their customers.

Yeah Blizz is making a free to play game forced to pay in order to play. How am I suppose to enjoy the game when you cant play it to its full extent. Greed Greed Greed

100 percent agree. I see them phasing out gold with this nonsense as well and eventually lowering our buying power for free packs earned from the reward track gold. runestones will make there way onto the track eventually even though as of this time they say they wont be earned in game. This buy runestones they are just like money and the thing you want costs that exact amount of money is a clear test run of our willingness to play along. We all need to boycott these stones in a big way or they will eventually take over the game as the only way to buy anything.

For now. They way they have this set up is a test to see if we are willing to buy in. Eventually it will change and you will have to buy everything with runestones. Stones will replace gold on the rewards track slowly at first to gradually force you to buy more stones to get the number of free packs you are used to… and on it will go.

As soon as they let you start earning them in game it will decrease the amount of gold you can earn, and devalue your buying power, meaning you will get less gold thus buying less new packs at each rotation. If these rune stones gain traction, it will be the end of Hearthstone as we know it. We fought back as a community against the first rewards track and they improved it. We can fight this too.

The upcoming Minisets (non-golden version also used to be buyable with Gold before) will be only Runestones aswell. They’re far from just cosmetic and should be one of the expensive (and gameplay affecting) things still obtainable through RM at least, like they claimed (in the same article where they announced what will be only runestones) - same for upcoming adventures.

Nope. Nope nope nope nope. That’s it for me. When I logged in and saw “runestones” it all sunk in. I’ve been playing since 2014 and this is where I draw the line. This is just another “auction house” ****** move designed with no purpose beyond generating profit. We already have a currency in game. Typical Blizzard L for sucking the soul of out of every fun aspect of their own games in favor for pleasing investors who’ve never even played the game

The track is such a joke: it doesn’t even go as long as the normal one (less than half), yet costs only $5 (US) less than it. And of course they add the failed multiple currency system from HoTS.

Company lies and advertises game as F2P, then continues to do moves like this. Then the pro company mob brigades and posts “YUMADBRO?” when people point out the company lied to the players.

Typical.

So much this. That there are any pro company defenders when this company’s track record on how it treats their own employees, their record on women (plus their disgusting lack of respect consent in their games, forcing players to constantly click “ok,” “great,” “awesome,” and so on instead of a generic acknowledgment before a player can continue on to the game), refusal to divest form tencent, and their refusal to condemn the treatment of the uyghurs and the whole Hong Kong situation, only shows their repeated selective moral outrage and this company doesn’t care about human rights issues.

Note the pro company posters won’t trumpet their “I flagged this” when it’s harassing people speaking out against the company and violates coc.

For anyone interested, the posts just containing “I flagged this” are off topic trolling and can’t be reported as such.

getting the mini set with gold instead of runestones is soooooo expensive

I have a feeling that blizz is gonna try & double down on this as it worked so well on diablo

the same for rocket league

They literally come in like a 2/1 Defender lmao

I’ve come to a realization that Blizzard has become a pretty terrible company. Between Warcraft III: Reforged, Diablo Immortal and all the changes made to TBC and now Wrath of the Lich King I’m not surprised by anything anymore. I quit WoW raiding three months ago and I couldn’t be happier playing other games. I hold out little hope that they won’t ruin Diablo 4.

Please read properly, i never claimed for gold being expensive. Blizz themself stated expensive is based on the spendable RM amount and game affecting items will keep the RM option (see their announcement article about runestones). Seasonpass for 15RM ist still buyable without runestones, Minisets aren’t, despite falling under both categories (especially the golden version). Also, they set them as ONLY runestones, no longer obtainable through gold or RM, unless you try fishing them all from packs or burn your dust on them.

legit easiest fix, allow us to buy them with the gold long term players have saved

That’s a terrible idea. It will have people funneling their gold into a currency that can’t be earned in game through any means, will only lead to the continued devaluing of gold, and encourage them to use the garbage runestones more.
