Utilize That Ignore Function

You need to practice what you preach.

I preach that there is abuse. I got banned for doing that. I very well know what I’m doing since I do it knowing I trigger the bullies who abuse.

You preach bullying is bad, while bullying others. Stop that.

Do you get the concept of humor?

Strange. The only personal attack in the last 4 posts is from you. The abuse is that I may get banned for calling it out instead of you for doing it.

Why’s it that every exchange here becomes this?

Read the CoC and you will see why you get banned. My replies to you are not the reason you get actioned. Thats all on you bud.

I know very well how the abuse occurs. I talked about it excessively. “Gangs” of people mass report you; they are the only ones with effective power to ban you (indirectly); that way the bullied often get banned and not the bullies.

Yes, you also mass report by yourself, so you are your own gang. Practice what you preach.

There aren’t gangs here… Hardly anyone here even gets along, let alone have the cohesion to form any sort of coordinated mass reporting group.

A)

That’s practically a strawman; I said the bullies may also gravitate naturally to similar behavior without much coordination; they can also organize directly in shady channels outside the platform they abuse but it’s unlikely it happens here.

Fact of the matter is it didn’t take 4 seconds to see the same abuse; I was talking generally; someone jumped in to do a full blown personal attack.

I’ve seen the same story many times; low quality moderation bans people like me who analyze systemic abuse; then the forum remains low quality.

B) I have seen at least three better systems of moderation

C) Better systems of moderation

1 ) Almost no moderation; mainly ban the blatant spam and illegal stuff; that may be harsh for gaming fora but it’s at least fair

2 ) Pure-democratic hiding of unpopular posts and raising of the popular (reddit without heavy manual moderation)

3 ) ELITIST JERKS(never mentioned before here); this is basically extremely strict moderation but they’re always on top banning people who deviate in the slightest from the rules (EJ was a WoW forum and guild (Ion of WoW was the guild leader)); it’s harsh for most gaming forums but it’s also fair (similarly to the inverse of no moderation)

Your “analysis” is summarized in the “everyone I don’t like is German bad man” meme. It’s not bullying you to disagree vehemently with your frequent hot takes.

I don’t know what word I’d assign to how Swampy and you interact, but “bullying” doesn’t feel appropriate. You’re not bullied. Get a grip.

The “analysis” …was cut out, and you did a strawman. For example I list there 3 better systems of moderation; you chose to ignore it and delete the text; it’s easier to “beat” “monster strawman” than talk to a real person.

It’s a human system; there’s always room for improvement. But really, I don’t buy your claim that you’ve learned any lesson whatsoever when your focus is still on delusions of persecution. I think you still think you weren’t wrong, and you were.

Somehow I took the time to read this entire thread and it was a rollercoaster of emotions, not gonna lie.

I will take the advice and ignore that fake russian dude. I was already doing it anyway, that would just make it easier.

Btw welcome back Kils

To be fair, you do tend to accuse people for bullying you when they’re only trying to help by correcting misinformation or explaining how things work

But yes there actually is some bullying going around here. It happens, but you can’t avoid it, best you can do is ignore it when it happens, so they get bored.

About the moderation systems, a lot could be better. It’s good that you’re thinking conceptually and abstractly about such matters; it shows you got potential for management.

My opinion is the moderation is bad, but at least not as bad and restrictive as some other gaming forums I’ve been on (for example, on Amazon’s games)

As long as we can state our opinion within some reasonable boundaries, I’m fine with that. The rest can be ignored.

I refer to direct personal attacks with the word bullying, and psychological abuse. Some posts don’t even include other content; just a “you suck” (in other wording); and then a sarcastic “and you will forever suck on top”(in other wording) (e.g. “someone” I won’t name for the sake of civility because they are in the thread telling me “I will never raise rank in my life because I will forever suck”[in a reply that didn’t have other content]).

You guys are funny.

Humans flinging words at other humans. To what end?

Just remember, when you visit the zoo and snicker when you watch the monkeys flinging poopy at each other …

Humans are just the same.

How did you guys get to this level?

We did evolve from monkeys xD

And technically, humans are animals, too xD

I’ve had long lists of ignored players & then removed them, twice.

If I don’t read the comment, then I can’t flag it, but then I save myself some unpleasantness. If I read a hidden comment I usually regret it, & remind myself that they were ignored for a reason.

So my ignore list is becoming, reluctantly, populated again.
