Updated Free Deck for New and Returning Players

The decks awarded to new and returning players will be updated on July 30! We’ve also made it easier for returning players to claim the free deck by removing the prerequisite of completing the returning player experience.* So long as you’ve been away for 120 days, you’ll be prompted with the deck grant right after you log in!

As a reminder, here is how it works for new players:

  • Log into Hearthstone and complete the tutorial and the Starter Quest line.
  • You will need to graduate from the New Player Ranks (Ranks 40-1).
  • Upon completing these quests, you will be able to select your free Class Deck once you return to the main menu.

It’s possible you may not see the deck in your deck list if you did not have an open deck slot when you chose your free Class Deck. If this happens, don’t worry! You will still receive all the cards from that deck. If you would like to delete one of your existing decks, you can then navigate back to this page and use our deck list. From here, copy the deck code, and you can then add the deck to your deck list from within Hearthstone.

*Limited one per account. A returning player is defined as one who has not logged into Hearthstone for 120 consecutive days. If you’re returning to Hearthstone on 7/30/2020, your last log in needs to be before 4/1/2020 to qualify.

Spell mage, hahahaha. The greed on this one…

If those are the new free decks I think the majority of people will take hunter for both the broken-ness and dust value.

i’d def go with hunter. Zephrys and alexstrasza. new player dream

The Mage new deck …at least you could have given away 2 Puzzle Boxes its a joke the value of that deck .

it’s a trap, run for it!

Hunter and Rogue are the clear winners. 3 legendaries each and they’re all good ones.

It is not fair when Blizzard gives free stuff to people that left the game and nothing to faithful people. I feel like leaving the game immediately out of spite.

Loyalty should be remunerated, but Blizzard prefers to pay the opposite because too many people are stopping playing. Well geez Blizzard, make a better game if you don’t want people to leave instead of remunerate them.

Can’t wait for people to complain about new players getting stuff, Yaaaaay… Anyway, it seems they moved the Highlander deck away from mage and towards Hunter.

Will they be update with the new expansion?

Did the Hunter list get worse? Where is [Dragonbane] and [Veranus]?

EDIT: Nevermind. Just rechecked the previous decks. Hunter is probably the best value because of the highlander legendaries, but Warrior is going to mop the floor with every other class after Scholomance drops.

That would require A-B to finally acknowledge the Priest problem.

Because you only play once a month and is jealous? HS has improved 100% on F2P. If you can play and earn a collection, why are you trying to have a net deck for the sole purpose of assisting new players?

It would be awesome if Blizzard would let people choose to “update” to these new decks as they get updated, filling in their collection with whatever is missing. For instance, give Rogue players who redeemed their deck already the option to update to this new one which includes Flik, so new and returning players can keep some degree of meta relevance at every point in their HS tenure.

I don’t even think this would discourage them from spending money, as these decks are still short a few cards from their “optimal” competitive builds, it would just make actual meta Hearthstone play accessible to more people more often.

Go right ahead. Nobody is stopping you.

Free Rez priest! Clearly the devs listen to their player base.

Imagine picking the garbage priest deck over a mostly built Highlander Hunter or Gala Rogue deck.

Troll returning players will have a nice time annoying aggro decks, what fun

I mean… the previous set of free decks also had a Rez Priest deck, so it’s not like this changes anything.

Wait a minute. Is that why so many people are playing Rez nowadays? These dimwits are picking that deck instead of the Highlander Mage one?

They are stupid trolls, Zephyrs and DQA is much much better.

I’m not sure you’re clear who is the customer, here.
