Tyrande is the best alt skin in the game, change my mind

The worst alt skin in the game is not Tyrande. FTFY.

Remember when hkq wasn’t making weird passive-aggressive posts. Me neither.

The OP was informative, and had a nice timeline of the entire issue for people unfamiliar with the subject. Unfortunately, it got torched, and the mods won’t restore it in a seperate post, just like they won’t deal with the issues that have been going on in the thread (old and new). But holy light help you if you post some truth about team 5’s practices (such as not sharing honestly about the art of hearthstone last year, especially about how book publication works) or similar subjects. Then things will move faster than epstien’s cellmate.

Sad seeing this unfold as HKQ has probably been hacked or sold his account.
Someone is really taking his/her time to bum everyone out. No clever joke or trolling. Just boring annoyance.

Moreover, seeing blizzard just not caring about what is happening.
No replies, nothing about this subject.

Been that way since the old thread, despite the original blue’s clear posts on the subject, and on top of what the coc says. To tweak Orwell: all rule breaking is equal, but some rule breaking is more equal than others.

At least before long, we’ll either have Tyrande, or team 5 will have completely destroyed their last shred of credibility. After years of delays, half truths, and the equivalent of “we have great reasons for why we haven’t brought back Tyrnade, but we can’t talk about them…or why we can’t talk about those reasons” one way or another at the end of this year (or the hearthstone one) this will all be over.

We’ll either have Tyrande back, or they won’t be able to face their playerbase again.

This is obviously wrong, given that a lot of players couldn’t care less about Tyrande or the promises made about her coming back. And for the people who do care about Tyrande, if they still think such a promise is credible, well… they can probably be suckered into believing it’s gonna happen again in another year or so.

Fixed version:

2015 - People who did not have Tyrande had not had a chance to have Tyrande.

2016 - People who did not have Tyrande that had not had a chance to have Tyrande had had a chance to have Tyrande.

2017 - People who did not have Tyrande that still had not had a chance to have Tyrande had not had a chance to have Tyrande while people who did not have Tyrande that had had a chance to have Tyrande still had Tyrande.

2018 - People who did not have Tyrande in 2015 that still had not had a chance to have Tyrande in 2016 that had not had a chance to have Tyrande in 2017 still had not had a chance to have Tyrande in 2018 while people who did not have Tyrande in 2015 that had had a chance to have Tyrande in 2016 that still had Tyrande in 2017 still had Tyrande in 2018.

2019 - Blizzard said that people who did not have Tyrande in 2015 that still had not had a chance to have Tyrande in 2016 that had not had a chance to have Tyrande in 2017 that still had not had a chance to have Tyrande in 2018 would have a chance to have Tyrande while people who did not have Tyrande in 2015 that had had a chance to have Tyrande in 2016 that still had Tyrande in 2017 that still had Tyrande in 2018 would still have Tyrande. However, people who did not have Tyrande in 2015 who would have had a chance to have Tyrande but turned out not to have Tyrande in 2016 that had not had a chance to have Tyrande in 2017 that still had not had a chance to have Tyrande in 2018 would have a chance to have Tyrande as well.

In the future - People who did not have Tyrande in 2015 that still had not had a chance to have Tyrande in 2016 that had not had a chance to have Tyrande in 2017 that still had not had a chance to have Tyrande in 2018 that would have had a chance to have Tyrande in 2019 will still not have Tyrande while people who did not have Tyrande in 2015 that had had a chance to have Tyrande in 2016 that still had Tyrande in 2018 that would still have Tyrande will still have Tyrande. Nonetheless, people who did not have in 2015 who would have had a chance to have Tyrande but turned out not to have Tyrande in 2016 that had not had a chance to have Tyrande in 2017 that still had not had a chance to have Tyrande in 2018 that would have had a chance to have Tyrande will still not have Tyrande.

If the majority of people here agree with it I’ll put it on top.

It wasn’t mods that torched the timeline, it was hkq himself.

If this is another lie I’ll be pretty pissed. I won’t trust them again if they don’t deliver this time. Why would they have to lie about a freaking skin this many times?

I never said it was the mods, but they could have restored it (just the timeline, considering it was a useful resource for the discussion) in a separate blue or mod post, considering it was done as a blatant act of trolling against the thread.

You can say it’s wrong, but clearly you aren’t thinking through the implications of where that goes. You can’t see past Tyrande (something you and others have accused people on this thread of doing). I’m looking at this from a business perspective: team 5 made a clear delivery window for a return on something they intentionally discriminated against most of their global playerbase on the first time around, and have strung along the same group of people for going on a few years now.

From a business perspective, that means if they are going to make such a definitive statement on one area and can’t be trusted to follow through it means they can’t be trusted in others. Especially for something they could have quietly dropped in the game at any point rather than all of the nonsense they’ve pulled over the last few years. If they can’t be trusted with something as small as this, they can’t be trusted with anything larger.

Credibility is a currency easily burned through and very hard to regain. Just ask ea.

I guess my question is, what’s special about this time? We’ve already had someone promise Tyrande to come back during the Year of the Mammoth, and nothing came of it.

But you’re assuming that the latest promise to bring back Tyrande is well known. It isn’t. I’m not “not looking past Tyrande,” I’m merely pointing out that the whole thing is a non-issue for a lot of people because they’re unaware of the whole thing. What are you going to do, start an awareness campaign? I mean, more power to you if you do, but I don’t see it shifting the needle much on the playerbase’s perception of the devs.

Well the people who made the last promise no longer work at Blizzard, so unless the dev that said Tyrande was coming back this year gets fired or leaves, I have more faith in this promise. But if they don’t deliver this time, yeah, they suck.

We really have entered the ministry of truth days. Only in in a day and age when something gets posted on the official site, on an official Q&A by one of the devs themselves can anyone claim that something “isn’t well known.”

This is the kind of newspeak that goes on with more important issues every day, and we’re told is doubleplusgood!

More importantly than that, it was made on a third party site interview and had to get repeated here, and get us pestering about it before they confirmed and got things rolling on it “working on bringing her back” (supposedly). The big difference is, this time this was made here front and center during a major Q&A and even got a second follow up. Gold text on the main site with a hard confirmed release timetable vs the very nebulous date we had before.

Plus, even if they work here or not the people above them have to sign off on what they say to us…so if they said it someone above them authorized them to say it. Otherwise we’d quickly get it retconned or a retraction. Case in point: when the wow people stepped in it and said they had ten million subs for legion during their initial interviews, and it got walked back faster than an usian bolt sprint.

These forums are the last place people come for official statements from Blizzard. This should be blatantly obvious to anyone who has spent any time reading these forums. You want announcements? Go to the News page in the main site. You want engagement with the devs? You go to Reddit. The forums are a secondary venue for the community to interact with itself more than anything. Which is why, while the latest Tyrande promise is known by forum regulars, is unlikely that this promise is as well known by the broader community.

And even if someone had heard about it, have you tried fishing for that bit of the Q&A lately? It’s not easy! Unless you were around when the Q&A happened, it would’ve been very easy to miss. Which, by the way, should be a clue on just how likely it is that something will come of it.

P.S: have you actually read 1984? Because it doesn’t sound like you have, random Newspeak terms notwithstanding.
