Mercenaries Duplicate Protection Please

Hi.

When I open a pack or finish a quest, I often get mercenary coins for mercs I have maxxed.
This happens to everyone, and happens more and more the more mercs we max.

Those coins are worse than a waste … this system actually make quest rewards and packs worth less and less the more mercs you max, and eventually they are practically worthless.

I am (and others like me are) already at that point. Random coins (both from packs or from tasks) are practically worthless to me.

Could you please change the system to stop giving coins for mercs who are maxxed?
And replace these “duplicate” coins with coins for mercs that have not yet been maxxed (e.g. of the same rarity)?

This would be similar to the change made to cards in standard hearthstone, where we no longer get duplicate cards (until we have all cards of a particular rarity).

but how are we going to get coins to spend on whatever theyll add later if we are forced to stop collecting them just because the merc is maxed out ?

Are they going to add tiers to existing mercenaries?
Is there a dev post that makes you believe they will do this?

Even if this will be true, wouldn’t it be better to get coins that you can use now, rather than coins that you can use in 6 months?

Agreed. It’s making it pointless to do the daily tasks.

Same issues, and I experience a lot…

With 2 painful experiments in series. I confirmed that the “duplicate protection” is a scam.

Thanks for being another voice on this issue. It’s to me the absolute most glaring issue with Mercenaries, and one that I believe threatens the long term viability of Mercenaries as a steady flow of income for Blizzard.

To me, the best solution would be to create some kind of currency similar to the Dust system in Constructed Hearthstone. Some way to convert tokens you don’t want to use into tokens you do want to use.

Probably a huge lift in terms of development, but to me it’s a lift more than worth doing because it essentially stabilizes the incentive for players to purchase packs.

Complete scam! I’ve just opened a pack with a legendary card. I thought it was gonna be a new legendary merc. No! I’ve got a portrait of one I already have!
