I opened a support case and after providing as much information as I could, Blizzard told me that there was nothing they could do which is very disappointing. I’ve invested a ton of money and time into the game and I am SOL now.

I’m afraid this issue does exist for a while already, as discussed in the following forum thread:
Unfortunately, we don’t have any new information about this. I can only hope, that a solution will be found soon. I’m very sorry for the trouble.
