Introducing Hearthstone’s New Mode: Twist!

If they wanted Wild Limited, they should have changed Wild to Limited.

I’m still disappointed in how WoW classic has been handled … but this is a new level of bad imho.

So glad I stopped giving blizzard my money several years ago. This mode should have been implemented in wild years ago, instead of stupid card bans. And now they remove the best constructed mode iun the game. Gj. No surprise everyone just plays free battlegrounds.

I cannot believe they are deleting the Classic. Just why? There are a lot of people like me who enjoy this format a lot. Why u cannot MAKE new, NOT REPLACE. Why not deleting standard/wild/mercs/bgs? I believe they are next to be deleted. You even annoncing this literally before 2 days to start. And also you don’t even wait for the season end. Horrible patch, horrible idea. I think that’s enough of me in Hearthstone.

Just why are you interfering with players who enjoy older meta feel? Why would you take that away in favor of more of the same new crap you’ve been putting out?

You should’ve left classic alone or replaced with something similar. Most everything past whispers of the old gods was not good. You are destroying a whole section of the community.

This could/should have been done without removing Classic. There was no reason to take Classic away while adding this.

Bring back the old mini sets for gold before launching this. It feels bad for returning players that we are only able to purchase the golden version of old mini sets for real cash only

Changing Classic mode to something else is a very bad idea I think… Ppl who are fed up with standard stupidity won’t have a mode which they can play anymore and will leave the game for good… Great strategy again… Everyone who hated DK and DH could play a mode which has none of these OP kids optimized classes… now they will leave instead… Just great…

What I want to try is witchwood meta but without Genn and Baku… I want to know how well my Taunt warrior would perform without all those odd paladins running around.

I’m playing Hearthstone since March 2014. Classic was the reason I have played Hearthstone in the last year.

Sad, but expected. A balanced evergreen format is not a money sucker, so it is not Blizzard’s style.

Bye bye.

…what?

Classic was the only reason I even still played this game. I have spent my dust on nothing but cards for classic since it launched to get a full set. Is that just all gone now? I don’t care if I could still use those cards in other modes. If I wanted to play other modes, I would already be doing that.

What an absolutely terrible decision. Classic was the only mode that was actually fun

Great change, classic mode is stale and new modes are always welcome

Ok Blizzard, I get it.

You rather want me to leave the game than enjoying that one evergreen mode, where you can’t sell me your packs.

Classic mode was the reason I still played Hearthstone after all these years. I could enjoy decks I have much nostalgia for far away from the circus that Wild and Standard have become.

I’d rather quit the game and leave that happy nostalgia in my memories than play that new mode I never asked for. And Blizzard has one more freeloading player off their servers. I guess that’s a win-win if it wasn’t so sad.

That’s the third time Blizzard straight up deleted content I loved and was invested it and replaced it with stuff I really don’t want. First WC3, then Overwatch 1 and now HS Classic. I think that’s the absolute record in alienating consumers. I guess HotS is next.

Congratulations on destroying the best HS mode ever made. Isn’t it easier to leave Classic as it is and make another separate mode?

Let me highlight arguably the most important line in the article:

Starting in Patch 26.6, coming later this month, Hearthstone will be replacing the Classic Mode with a new Mode called Twist!

Shouldn’t have bothered reading the rest. :grinning: But anyway, back to the matter.

First, discontinuing support for Mercenaries (you could still do them if you haven’t, though), then this? Apart from some solo adventures, which have recently been made available for gold (beware, some of them have critical bugs: The Dalaran heist, Jepetto Joybuzz , also reportedly Adventure boss not ending his turn ), in my view, there’s not much left to play, then!

Well, I suppose it’s time to move on to something else, and this is also a relief of sorts: while Classic was fine, it has been somewhat less fun for me lately, bots and the like not helping, either.

Perhaps I could still do some Mercs tasks and stuff out of habit (or should I?), there are also some of the aforementioned adventures left to be done for me, but apart from that — I’m off, I suppose. As said, it’s a bit of a relief — time to close this chapter and move on to something else, at least thanks for sending a clear message that I should do it!

PS This post has turned out quite subjective, but I hope nobody minds that.

Seems obvious they’re killing Classic because sales for Classic packs are non-existent and this mode is intended to get people to buy old packs. Clear $ decision and it’s bad for players.

They could have added twist without removing Classic. People that played Classic loved it. Do we get refunds for the dust/gold we spent on the mode? You’re not leaving it up to play like you did Mercs. Just 100% gone. Huge disrespect to the players that put money into it.

This is a huge betrayal. I invested heavily to completing my Classic collection with the understanding that I would be able to use it to ladder whenever I wanted to.

Now that Classic collection is only useful in Wild, I guess? But in reality Wild is a huge mess and with the ever-present powercreep, old cards have very little value there.

This is the final nail in the coffin for the soul of Hearthstone. This game is now completely soulless.

With the help of Google Translate, I am posting for the first time.

The game is currently heavily tainted with disgusting elements such as excessive generators, excessive draw, excessive removal+AoE, and excessive rush+lifesteal. DH and DK accelerated this drastically. What anyone who hates it wants is just before wild or a mammoth.

But Blizzard deliberately kept the 2013 status quo to kill the classic, and instead of a fair competition, It appears to have succeeded in ensuring that recent failures never compare with past glories.

The part where Blizzard is particularly vicious is that, having made classic as an excuse to switch to the core set (same reason as standard-wild), they are now getting rid of it.

In Korea, those who quit Hearthstone are described as having increased intelligence, and those who cannot quit Hearthstone are described as having a broken skull. I’ve had my skull shattered for 8 years, but thanks to you, I’ll stitch it up and leave forever. I understand why the Fair Trade Commission of Korea commented that Blizzard is not a great company that can monopolize it.

Lemme add another PS (or PPS) to my post above. I hope I’m not talking to myself, am I? :grinning:

I suppose I could clarify the point about ‘relief’ more. You know how tempting can it be, when you get to play, to get all those kinds of daily and weekly quests or tasks out of the way, while at it? Yeah, yeah, it’s a common trick to keep you playing, they say, by the way. The thing is, if you’d play anyway and these get completed automatically — it’s one thing, but if the game is no longer fun, these look more like chores and bait to get you playing. Part of the relief is that there’s no need to even check them and decide which ones to ignore or abandon anymore.

Whatever the case, thanks for Classic, it has been fun… Well, apparently, not anymore after the patch.

Cool concept it could fail faster than mercenaries without support.

It will be a fun novelty then once the shine wears off and it will be run into the ground. {see Mercenaries classic even duels} If they do it right, it could be great. But I don’t have faith in them. Not even mentioning potential for the insane monetization. They start off great for about a year/year and a half and then it will go into maintenance mode.
Keep your expectations low kid it will hurt less.
